We are Homemade Homes the experienced property sales team within Accent Housing. Homemade Homes by Accent is a brand name for the sale of homes owned by Accent Housing Limited and Accent Homemade Limited.
We specialise in Shared Ownership, another way to buy your home. You buy a percentage and pay rent on the rest. We own just part of it – but you’re living there, you decorate it and decide when to sell.
Buying a percentage means a smaller deposit and a smaller mortgage. It’s a sooner first step on the ladder for lots of people. Usually, you can carry on buying further shares to own it 100%.
Buying a share means you need a lower mortgage and deposit than purchasing a property outright. This makes it a cost-effective way to own your own home and ideal for first-time buyers. Shared Ownership usually works out less per month than renting privately.
We want to be ‘with you for your journey’, whether that is helping you to take the first step onto the housing ladder or helping you search for a new home, we will be right there with you.
We have Shared Ownership homes across the country, from Surrey to Yorkshire and have helped hundreds of people fulfil their home ownership ambitions. We offer new and resale Shared Ownership homes as well as helping our current customers buy more of their home or sell it when they want to move on.

Great experience with shared owndership purchase
Lucy has been absolutely amazing! I never felt like a bother, she was always willing to answer any questions I had or provide an update. She also worked really hard when it came to the exchange deadline to make sure things went smoothly when we hit some bumps! Very grateful she was a part of the process.

Persimmon are a great partner with Homemade Homes and Accent Housing.
Whilst I have already reviewed the great Service from Homemade Homes for my purchase, I wish to also review the service provided by the developers at Persimmon.
We purchased our new home on the Shared Ownership Scheme and not directly through Persimmon Homes. Throughout our move in period, the Persimmon site manager, Michael, popped in to make sure things were okay with the home. We did have minor issues trying to get a fridge in the space provided as we did with our washing machine. Michael got the right trade professionals from Persimmon round straight away to assist. One remedy was to remove a radiator and then reinstall it.
I have to say their support was above and beyond. Persimmon did not have to do all the work they did as we were not ‘one of their customers’ but are shared ownership purchasers through Homemade Homes and Accent Housing. They really made us feel valued, welcome and assured.
So whilst this is not directly the work via Accent Housing and Homemade Homes, I am so pleased Persimmon gave their support and the combination of the Companies involved made the house buying and move in process so much easier.

Never answering phone calls
What’s the point of your aftercare team to provide a phone number and also say ‘please call if you need anything’ if they are never answering.. so frustrating. They only call back if you log a complaint

Working and saving for a mortgage deposit to buy a house you can call as your family home is most people’s dream achievement. Its only when you start the house buying process and you then realise the complex process it is. It was difficult to find a house that was going to meet our needs. When we found the Homemade Homes by Accent site, we just loved their house designs. It was great to get in touch with a gentleman called Ash who outlined the process and what is required. Many thanks and appreciation for Ash’s help and ongoing update on what needs to be done, including next steps.
Unlikely we did not get our first house choice but Ash kept us dated on the remaining available houses where we managed to pick one.
At the time of writing this review we have not yet finished the process, we also waiting for the viewing date appointment, but hope with God’s blessing we are almost there to that dream moment of having a place we call a family home.
Many thanks to the ongoing guidance and support from Ash, we have appreciated your professional and kind help with our application.

Bad communication service
I reached out to schedule a viewing and followed up with several emails, but unfortunately, I did not receive any replies.NEVER! After multiple attempts to call, I finally spoke with an agent who inquired about my availability for a viewing. However, I never received a callback or any further information.When I called again, I was informed that I would be updated when a viewing opportunity arose, but I never heard back. Due to this lack of communication, I gave up this property, the worst experience!
Edit: This is my first time receiving a reply from them after leaving a comment here. I understand that you are having difficulty contacting the seller, but as least you should reply to my emails after multiple calls when I ask for an update.

Ash has been our main point of contact throughout the purchase and was always on hand to answer any questions and rectify things promptly!
