James is an absolute gent! I wanted a pickup swap and service on my Fender Lead III. James managed to fit me in despite very tight time restraints. My guitar now absolutely sings and is night and day when compared to the stock pickups. James advised me on what pickups would work nicely for my requirements and upgraded the pots and he was spot on! Home of Tone have earned themselves one local customer and I will be recommending him my friends.

I recently ordered a wiring harness from James’s Home of Tone for a guitar build, and the entire experience was excellent.

Despite Home of Tone being in the UK and me being in California, the harness arrived incredibly fast. When the package arrived, I was genuinely impressed by the presentation. The packaging was carefully designed by someone who takes pride in their work and their business.

I purchased a pre-wired Stratocaster wiring harness and pack of Swannell Guitars Ground Bugs. The wiring harness arrived promptly and was beautifully presented and the quality of the parts and wiring was excellent. Everything fitted perfectly and the Ground Bugs provide a quick and easy way to connect ground wires, negating the need to solder to pot casings. Highly recommended.

I’ve just installed a prewired harness for a partscaster Tele from James. This is the forth harness I’ve bought from him having previously purchased ones for a Tele, Strat and LesPaul. James products and service and advice have been first class and I would highly recommend him.

I like the way he appreciates us older chaps do like our traditional strat (in my case) arrangements and tone but was able to offer modern innovations that I didn’t know about to deliver them, apparently my Strat now has a daddy long legs in it ! as well as an upgraded harness, switch, cap etc !!
… and his solder work is the best I’ve ever seen … any USA custom shop could learn a lot here !

Awesome wiring for three of my guitars. Super dependable, the guitars sound better and proper tapering on the left handed pots. Highly recommended and superb fast service and communication.
