Thank you for your feedback and for speaking with me today. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused. Your selected local service provider originally accepted your booking but later realized that they are not allowed to service your address in Point Reyes Station. Your location falls within a franchised area. This is not very common, but it means your city requires all homeowners to be serviced by one company that has agreed to pay the city for that access. It's essentially a hidden tax on residents. As we discussed, your order has been fully canceled and refunded. We’ve also updated our system to remove this area from the local provider's service area to prevent this from happening again. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and apologize again for the disruption. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can assist further.

The dumpster was delivered within a couple hours after ordering and placed exactly where I wanted it. It was clean and actually had a door on the narrow end that could be opened for large or very heavy items to be discarded. I am well pleased so far. Thank you, Gary

Hometown referred my order to Junk…
Hometown referred my order to Junk King. Order was confirmed by Hometown to be delivered today. I called Junk King to confirm delivery time and received nothing but a runaround. They had no record of my order and said I had to contact you and your offices are closed. Clearly I am not getting the dumpster today. I want to cancel the order through Hometown and don't feel I should be charged a cancellation fee.

The service provider confirmed that an internal communication issue led to your dumpster not being delivered on the day it was promised. We're very sorry for that poor service. We've now refunded the full cost of your original dumpster order and there is no cancellation fee. On our subsequent follow up with you we learned that you did have a dumpster delivered the following day. Again, we're sorry for that delay.

Requested service on a Thursday
Requested service on a Thursday. I was told they will confirm and let me know within 3 hours if they were able to drop off for that date. An hour later I received a text stating they were unable to do that delivery date and i would not be charged on my account. They still charged my account and I'm still waiting for the charge to come off. Called customer service and she said it would be off in an hour. 2 days later I'm still waiting for the charge to come off

We're sorry your service provider was not able to accept your request for next day delivery. Their schedule was already full for that day. The most common solution in this case to select another service provider that has indicated they have availability. We never charge for a booking until the local service provider confirms they will deliver the dumpster. In your case, the service provider did not confirm so your card was authorized initially, but it was never charged. Sometimes it takes a day or two for the card company to remove the authorization. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused for you.
I rented a 20 yard roll off dumpster…
I rented a 20 yard roll off dumpster through "HOMETOWN DUMPSTER RENTAL" for a company called DumpStor! I called DumpStor the night before the planed pickup date and told DumpStor I would need it longer! DumpStor said that the roll-off would be mine until I called to have it picked up! Immediately the next day "HOMETOWN DUMPSTER RENTAL" made DumpStor pick up the dumpster! When I called in shock, DumpStor told me they had NO choice because I had rented it from a third party "HOMETOWN DUMPSTER RENTAL"! What kind of idiotic company does NOT work with their subcontractors to satisfy their CUSTOMERS? "HOMETOWN DUMPSTER RENTAL" obviously does NOT care about their subcontractor customer needs and wants! I will NEVER get suckered into working with "HOMETOWN DUMPSTER RENTAL" ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hometown does not require our service providers to pick up the dumpster on any particular day. The original booking is for a set rental period, with a delivery date and a pickup date. But the pickup date is flexible, and can be changed anytime simply by talking directly with a service provider and requesting a different day for pickup. NOTE: We've never had a booking by anyone with this name, so this review does not come from a verified customer.
