Unfair Price Hikes and Contract Trap
I’ve been a Host Europe customer for over 10 years, but recent changes have completely ruined my experience. In 9/2023, they increased their prices, offering a so-called "deal" to get €1 off if you committed yearly. Now they’ve announced an additional charge for email migration, which would cost me over €600 a year for my 50 mailboxes. When I decided to switch providers due to these unreasonable costs, they insisted that I still fulfill the remaining 4 months of my contract (till sept). It feels like a trap: raising prices, locking you in, then adding even more fees. Think twice before choosing Host Europe; loyalty and fairness are clearly not part of their business model.
Warning: Account suspended despite confirmed payment – no support, data deletion threatened
I strongly advise against using Hosteurope – especially for business-critical websites or email.
On April 29, 2025, I transferred the full outstanding amount of €543.43 to Hosteurope. However, I accidentally included the wrong customer number in the payment reference (a simple typo). The transaction went through successfully, and the reference number was correct.
Despite several attempts to contact their support via email and fax – including a clear explanation and proof of payment – I received no response for over 24 hours. My entire account, including all websites and email addresses, was suspended.
A support agent confirmed by phone that all data will be deleted unless the "contract department" (only reachable via email!) intervenes. But this department remains silent, and there is no escalation path – no manager, no callback, no responsibility.
For any professional or company depending on reliability and fast support, Hosteurope is a major risk.
I am documenting this case publicly and preparing legal steps.
Host Europe solved a website time-out problem
Our website had a database time-out problem and despite it being a weekend, Hosteurope.de responded in a couple of hours. They not only identified and rectified the problem but also applied optimization. The problem has not recurred since the last 5 days and the hosted website has become quicker to respond.

Domain registration is not imediate
Hi,
registered a domain (which is actually not registered) paid the amount and from many hours I am waiting for there order confirmation today. There 24/7 email is also not replying. Still I can register the same domain from other domain provider.

Absolutely unacceptable! Host Europe GmbH offered a discount on the first domain, so I purchased one. Instead of fulfilling the order, they canceled my domain and locked my account without any explanation. This is not how a professional company should operate. Be cautious—this platform clearly lacks credibility and respect for its customers. I strongly advise against using their services!

okay I'm not sure why this company have this thousand of good reviews here but my experience with them was awful literally is that was a nightmare I bought a domain from them and these guys works like they they work on the 90s first of all I didn't get the domain directly I have to wait for hours to get the confirmation after hours I got an email and guess what they asked me for a single domain they asked me for my official ID utility bill from the last 3 months I signed cover letter confirming the order okay even if the order is personal they ask me to they need a separate confirmation for the credit card I stopped with a company stamp what are companies time when I'm personal person it was a nightmare and I don't know how these guys working but thanks God the order has been canceled of course I will never give them all this person information to a foreigner country in a and I don't know anything about them and they need all this information with this information that they ask for anyone can hack your life for a single domain no thank you so I'm going to give them I wish I can give them zero Stars why I don't know but they are horrible
Reliable, friendly, quick to respond
I have been using HE since 2007 (back in Germany) and have been very happy with them, 95% of the times in all those years. On the odd occasion I had a grumpy customer support agent/technician, but other than that I thought the CS was helpful and friendly, prices were reasonable, their services reliable and even beginner-friendly.
I was so happy with them, that I kept using them even though in the meantime I moved to the UK and to France. I have not found anyone quite as good. As I had used other providers as well, I had expectations that I wanted to be fulfilled and it was hard to find anyone else.
Only a few days ago, I had another customer support request and it was answered in less than 24 hours, well explained, not condescending and friendly. Anytime again.
