For your UK-specific needs

For your UK-specific needs, you can get service without hesitation, and most importantly, it is a company with 24/7 accessibility and solution support points; I have been receiving service for two years, although the support team is tired of me now :) I am satisfied with Hostworlduk, and I recommend it.

Hostworld is a web hosting provider…

Hostworld is a web hosting provider that boasts excellent customer service and reliable services. While their customer service is commendable and their servers are generally reliable, I've had an unfortunate experience that I feel compelled to share.

My experience with Hostworld was marred by their practice of throttling CPU usage when it exceeds 40%. Despite paying for their services, I found myself unable to use the full capacity of the CPU I had purchased, which I believe amounts to false advertising. As someone who requires high levels of CPU usage for my work, this was a significant inconvenience that led to my search for a more suitable hosting provider.

While Hostworld offers reliable services and excellent customer support, their practice of throttling CPU usage without proper disclosure may leave customers feeling frustrated and misled. As such, I would recommend prospective customers to approach Hostworld with caution and consider their CPU usage requirements before committing to their services.

We provide a shared VPS environment and our terms of service clearly states what our policy to CPU utilisation is. It is factually incorrect to state we do not disclose our policy in this area, particularly as we're actually one of the few hosts that actually spell out our policy rather than hiding behind "fair usage".

Secondly you have fundamentally misunderstood our CPU utilisation policy and therefore your description of it here is wholly inaccurate. We do NOT stop you from using more than 40% of CPU. You can use 100% of CPU for short bursts. This is clearly explained with our policy here: https://hostworld.uk/vps-cpu-utilisation-policy
If however you use more than 40% of CPU on average over a 1 hour period, yes you will be throttled in line with our policy so that you do not drain vital server resource which could impact other customers.

When signing up to our service you agreed and read our terms of service. Given that you appear to be unaware of our VPS CPU utilisation policy I can only therefore reasonably conclude that you did not infact read our terms of service which is in itself a violation of our terms of service.

From your description you appear to desire either semi-dedicated cores, or dedicated cores. If you require this then you should procure VPS services from a provider that does provide dedicated cores. We do not and have never set this expectation that we do.

Hostworld recently helped me navigate a domain name transfer, and, as always, the technical support I received was flawless.
The package I use is exceptionally good value for money, & the inclusion of cPanel for online, real-time, editing, in particular, raises their product above that of many of their competitors.
I would highly recommend this company as a hosting solution for any independent artist concerned with the maintenance of editorial freedom & control.

Amazing Service + World Class Support

Most VPS hosting service sign ups are long and require so many identity verification steps that take forever but not here. The service was delivered almost instantaneously. I did run into an issue with RDP ports while manually changing a setting to secure my login but as soon as I reached out to support, it was resolved . I was really impressed by the turnaround time of their support, not to mention their pricing is very affordable. Recommended 10/10

Friendly and professional service

I have been dealing with Calico.co.uk for some years now, but usually it was in regard to my domain name. Last week, I contacted Calico because some bigger problems arose concerning my website and my email address. Calico happily undertook the challenge and I was pleasantly surprised that all the help they offered was free of charge. Kirsty, who dealt with my problem, was extremely efficient, determined to fix the problem, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. It was a novelty for me to find somebody on the other side of the phone who was willing to listen and find the solution. I am extremely grateful to Kirsty, and would full heartedly recommend her service.

page speed boost

I'm an accidental page speed expert. It's become a weird hobby. There are many factors involved but a hosting with a really fast network helps.
I've tested a handful of hosting companies (two had "fast" in their company name!) and they were not as quick as this.
The hostworld network is blazing fast.
My homepage has 4 images and pingdom tools speed test has it loading in less than a fifth of a second.
Been using since black friday 2022, will be renewing.

Great technical support from Hostworld

I've been with this company for many years, when it was Ezee and then Hostworld. On every occasion that I've needed technical or general support they've responded very quickly and always resolved the issue in question. They conduct themselves in a friendly and helpful manner and it gives peace of mind that the website is in good hands.

Get away from this hosting

Honest and first review for the hosting.
1. When I bought the hosting, it appeared score 4.9 from the trustpilot, I doubted the good reviews here are FAKE.
2.Obviously there is issue for the FTP account, and the phpadmin is also NOT stable at all.
Contacted the support, they are not able to solve it at all.
You wasted me MUCH time which is valuable especially for one developer.

I can see that you have had two accounts with us. One which you registered a year ago claiming you are from China, and then 2nd which you registered with us 3 months ago claiming you're from Hong Kong.

On TrustPilot you claim to be from the USA.

You have chosen to host with us twice over the course of 1 year. The first was around 1 year ago for a period of around 2 months, then then most recently you made a purchase 3 months ago and continue to use this service.

Regarding the tickets on both accounts, the China firewall appears to have been causing you issues with you accessing services in the UK and this is beyond our control. We do not provide any routing or service guarantees to China due to their propensity to cause issues and intercept communications due to their state interference of telecommunications.
I can see on a number of tickets you have raised we have responded in detail and prompty to your concerns, however in a great majority of tickets we then hear no further word from you on the reported issue. I can also see that in a number of cases we were not able to replicate the issue you were experiencing, which further points to the unreliability of your connection from China/Hong Kong. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact us so we can try to help resolve them where we can.
Furthermore, our reviews on here are genuine experiences from usually very long-term customers so your assertion that good reviews here are fake is defamatory.
We wish you good luck in your search for an alternative host.

Cheap and fast response

Cheap and fast response to questions, I definitely recommend them I'm still using their VPS but am having better luck with webhosting on my own PC. But yes give them a try they are worth every penny.
