Rooms are much more expensive through hotelgifcard.com.
Here's an example for exactly the same room. Premium room 1 king bed with mini fridge at holiday inn Southend-on-Sea.
Using the voucher that was gifted to me that room would cost £223. Booking directly with holiday inn it would cost £145. Now this is for the exact same room on the exact same dates.
It seems kind of like a scam to me. If you want to gift someone hotel stays, there are much better ways to do it.

The giftcard is legit, but the prices are a scam. The website where you can spend the credit lists hotelrooms for 50% more than Booking.com or Agoda. So a third of the giftvoucher is lost on Hotelgiftcard’s margins. Do employees a favour and give them vouchers for normal booking websites. L
