Il Marchesato is a family Company founded in 1978 in Saluzzo, a tiny town in the North West of Italy, not far from Turin.
The name is after the old name of the area, and it means “The land of the Marquis”, a common way in the ancient times to define places according to the nobles in charge. From the beginning Il Marchesato makes hand made luxury umbreallas, walking sticks and shoehorns with a vast array of high quality materials.
Every single piece is mounted by hand, precious textiles cut by hand, sticks and handles are worked by the family members and porcelain handles painted by local artists working with the Company since longtime. Even the top notches and runners of the umbrellas are mounted and tested internally one by one.

I received the wrong product with the…
I received the wrong product with the correct engraving. This was so disappointing. I had a special occasion and ordered a walking stick but they sent me a shoe horn . I was really looking forward to receiving this order and was excited it only took eight days to arrive . However it isn’t what I ordered . Fingers crossed this company’s customer service department will cooperate with a return and make things right with a proper replacement or refund. I will follow up after I reach out then on how that goes . I received my package today just in time for a special event, but totally wrong product . Such a disappointment!

With the first delivery, the umbrella arrived damaged and broken. And after contacting the company, they arranged for the damaged umbrella to be picked up at no cost for me. Quickly after they received it, they shipped a new umbrella and that arrived soon after without issues. So, I’m happy with their service and my wife likes the umbrella.
