I’ve been a seller with Koop for a while now, and unfortunately this is my second negative review of the platform.
After posting my first review, Koop refused to release money that was already sitting in my Seller account unless I removed the review. Only after deleting it did they process my payout.
Since then, I’ve continued selling on the platform and currently have another $435 in my seller balance. I submitted a withdrawal request on January 15, 2026, and have followed up four additional times since then. None of my requests have received a response. I’ve also emailed multiple times simply asking for confirmation that my payout request was received — again, no reply.
At this point, customer service appears essentially non-existent, and the lack of communication raises serious concerns about the company’s professionalism and treatment of sellers.
I had high hopes for Koop as a Canadian alternative to platforms like ThredUp or The RealReal, but my experience has been extremely disappointing.
I’ve kept the full email correspondence documenting these interactions. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering selling on this platform. At this point, I consider my $435 earnings lost.
I have attempted to attach all of my email correspondence with Koop, but there are simply too many messages. I am happy to share them with anyone who would like more information before dealing with this company.
I have also contacted Trustpilot, as incentivizing users to write or remove reviews is a violation of their policies.
My account was placed “on hold” because of my previous postings. This is what they sent me:
“It seems that this whole thing was a misunderstanding, and we wish you would have come to us for explanation before posting on multiple websites and social medias. As the case is now solved, we kindly ask you to remove any reviews/comments you've left in the past week in order to keep your listing account active. Accounts that are not active, meaning on ‘hold,’ will still have their products listed and processed, but payouts will not be available until the matter is resolved.”
What I find interesting is that I have not received a single email from them since last September. As previously stated, I have been trying to access my earnings since January and never received responses to my emails or support requests. However, after posting my review this morning, they contacted me almost immediately.
This was their latest response:
“Your account is unfortunately blocked at the moment and has been for the past few months. I'd be happy to solve this problem with you, since I know what seems to be the issue, but because a review was posted this morning, I now need to escalate the matter to a supervisor, which can take weeks. We’ve already sent you 5 emails in the past 6 months regarding your account, and we’ve responded to every one of your emails. It seems they may have gone to your spam folder, as we can see they were not opened.”
What I find suspicious is that this email came through immediately. I do not have them blocked, and I regularly check both my inbox and spam folders. If they had truly been responding to my previous requests for months, I should have received at least some of those messages.

It’s a pleasure working with them. As a tip to make sure you don’t make the same mistake I did, write to them if you pay for the return of your clothes, and tell them you want them back 2-3 months after you send them!
So far the experience has been great overall. The communication has been quick from the company. I removed one star only because I sent out my parcel end of December and the items were listed and live in May.
Really solid service. You just buy the shipping label, box up your clothing, and mail it to them - they handle the rest. It's a great option for anyone who doesn't have local consignment stores or just wants a fast and easy option!
So far I’ve sent two boxes to Koop and it’s been a great experience. I’m closing my Poshmark closet and just selling on Koop. It’s so much more convenient! My items are selling faster on Koop than on poshmark. I’ve subscribed to the clean out kit and I’ve already got the next box ready to go.
Loved my products, good packaging , fast delivery, super happy!😊
Definitely better than trying to sell on Kijiji or Marketplace, or hope that a for-profit secondhand store isn't going to overcharge customers, pocket ridiculous profit or throw clothes in a landfill/dump on the global south. It's one of the better solutions to a huge problem we've created. That said, you don't get a ton of money back for your clothes. But it's great if your body has changed sizes and nothing in your closet fits anymore :) You can get Koop credits back instead of cash and use those toward a size change in your wardrobe. Nothing beats an old school in-person clothing swap, though.
The worst experience I've had reselling clothes online, with a passive -aggressive customer service approach. High-end designer items were not included in what they chose to list, and were not returned, similar to what other reviewers mention. I won't list all the back and forths I had with the person i spoke with but believe me, not worth the time or effort. I think the return kits are the profitable part of the business for them, while reselling the clothes is probably more of an afterthought? The owner can nitpick the negative review details, but makes no difference. I don't have whatever file number they have asked me for, and I don't use my legal name for online purchasing due to security concerns, which is why they can't link me to my order, for the record. And the LAST thing I want is for them to contact me again since it was so unpleasant. Selling a pile of clothes in bulk on FB marketplace will net you more money than going through the trouble here, believe me. I also rarely post any kind of reviews, good or bad, so I'm not doing this for fun -- my intent is not to harm a small business, but rather to be honest about what happened to me so that potential customers can make an informed decision. It's the first time I've used Trustpilot to leave a review, which is obviously why my account was just created, but have relied on them in the past to research websites, so hopefully this helps someone else.
update: in response to the comment below, trustpilot never asked me to prove that i was a client so i haven't refused anything. i have a right to remain anonymous since you have my personal information. i'm sorry you don't like this review, but i've given my honest experience and wouldn't waste my time otherwise. have a great day.

I just started shopping and selling with koop and so far my experience is very good .
Fast replies to emails .
I have had some good finds, but I find that some of the clothing condition, other than NWT, is scruffier than expected. Also pictures and descriptions could be improved to provide more clarity. For instance, I recently ordered a sweatshirt "Reigning Champ" brand. The picture and description did not show that it was a crop top. Also bought a swim cover up that was mis-labelled as a sweatshirt. Dresses and tops are often mis-described. Koop needs to make more categories and make time and space for better descriptions
I am fairly new to the koop experience, but so far so good.
I have always has quick responses to any questions I've had.
Customer service is top notch.
I've sold a few items already, and am excited to start a new clean out kit, it is very easy and convenient.

I both sell and buy on Koop and it is always good experience. Communication is fast, replied even in the evening or at night. I would give 5 stars but I had an Oder that I spent a long time put together cancelled with no reason given
Koop has been so easy and user friendly, I’ve recommended them to everyone I know!! I love that I can send my old clothes and make money without lifting a finger… I really do LOVE Koop!!
Great company, quick shipping and authentic listings! Plus you can sell your own clothing and accessory items you aren't using anymore.
I really like using Koop! It makes clearing out my closet super easy—just pack everything up, stick on the prepaid label, and send it off. Way less hassle than consignment stores where you drag bags in, wait around, and usually end up with about the same payout.
The payouts aren’t huge, but a few bucks here and there adds up, and honestly the convenience is worth it.
A couple things I’d love to see improved: one of my items showed up as “unbranded” when it was actually a pair of Lululemon shorts, so more accurate brand info (and maybe more product photos) would be great. I’d also really like to be able to click on my items right from my product list to see the actual listing—I don’t love having to search for my own stuff just to check how it’s described or priced. And it would help to know why some items aren’t accepted so I know what’s worth sending next time.
Overall though, Koop is such an easy, stress-free way to declutter. Definitely recommend!

Always very happy with the quality offered at fair prices. I have ordered a few times and the package always arrives in good time. Very happy with my finds so far... I will order again! :)

I’ve placed two orders so far with Koop. The first was a surprise box. I would say 80% of the box were premium brand clothing and in pristine condition. It was a surprise box so some things were not my style. But overall I was happy with it. The second was a designer cocktail dress with the tags on for $16.00! ( I just wish their website would save my sizes to my account. It makes it so much easier when shopping) Shipping was reasonably priced and I had my items in less than a week. I recommend Koop and will shop here again

I'm a regular buyer and seller on Koop! I absolutely love shopping with them. The quality of everything I've recieved has been top-notch and the prices really can't be beat. I like how easy it is to search by size, colour, brand and price.
Koop is truly the new and best way to shop second hand :)

In general, I appreciate Koop. However, I wish there was more info given on the items. For instance, I just bought a vest that was listed as size 12. When it arrived, it said 12 Tall. It is way too long for me, as I am 5'4", and too deep a V in the front so I can't wear it without a shirt. Often, just a little more specific info on the fit or length or width would be so helpful.

I really like all the items that I've been finding. They are very stylish and in great condition. I've even found some items that my teenage daughter likes! Great company!
