Will NEVER purchase from Indesit again
Ordered a gas cooker and was given a delivery day and a three hour time gap. Nothing arrived, so contacted them only to be told the delivery driver went sick which happens...HOWEVER, they could not be bothered to email, or text me so will NEVER purchase an Indesit product again !
Absolutely terrible after sales
Absolutely terrible after sales service.
We bought an Indesit tumble dryer. We didn't really choose Indesit, it chose us as it was the only one small enough to fit in the space after our 15yr old dryer stopped working.
After about 4 weeks, we got a grinding noise from the machine when the drum turned. I phoned their fault reporting service to book an engineer. After countless attempts, I managed to get through and an appointment was booked for about 5 days time.
Engineer arrived on time and diagnosed a deformed drum and failed bearing. He could not see how the drum became deformed and said he suspected a manufacturing fault.
A part had to be ordered which took nearly 2 weeks. A second engineer was booked to fit the new drum. About 2 days after he fitted it, the machine started grinding again even worse than the original and a rubber seal was sticking out the door. Another call to the Indesit customer care line and a third engineer was booked. The machine had now been out of action for over a month.
The third engineer turned up and told us the drum and seal had been fitted incorrectly and it wasn't the drum anyway. Apparently, it was a known fault where a washer was missing at the back so there was not enough clearance for the drum so it rubbed on the surrounding frame. He said he had seen a few like that. After he fitted the washer and reseated the seal correctly, the machine worked well.
We thought that was the end of the matter. Then 5 months later the RCD in our fuse board kept tripping at random. After several times we worked out that it only happened when the tumble dryer was switched on. We called out an electrician who checked all the wiring and told us that the dryer was creating an earth fault.
Once again, I had multiple attempts at contacting the Indesit customer service line. Yet another engineer booked for about 5 days time. The time slot given to us the night before was between 9am and 2pm. 2pm came and went as did 3pm, 4pm, 5pm and 6pm. The engineer eventually arrived at 7:30pm after I had booked another day off work and sat there all day.
He proved the machine was causing the fault but couldn't definitely say why. He said he was going to order a whole new wiring loom as he could see some of the wires were not fixed very firmly.
The part was ordered and about 2 weeks later we were given a date and time slot between 8am and 1pm for another engineer to come and fit. Once again, I took a day off work and waited. The engineer didn't arrive. The following day I got a call from Indesit customer service saying they needed to book another appointment. No apology or reason and the new appointment was over 2 weeks away. I asked why the engineer didn't turn up and was told he ran out of time. I then tried to argue that 2 weeks was far too long considering that it wasn't my fault that the engineer didn't turn up. They basically said that was the only date they had but would put me on a list in case someone cancelled and an earlier date became available.
That is presently where we are at as I am yet to see if the engineer turns up and whether the part fixes it.
So far, the machine is 8 months old and in all that time, has been unusable for more than 2 months while waiting for engineers and parts. The amount I have lost in wages, by having to take days off work that I don't get paid for, has cost me more than the initial cost of buying the machine.
I would like to say this is all a one-off and we have just been unlucky, but we had similar issues many years ago when we purchased a Hotpoint washing machine which is basically the same company.
Disgusting customer service and ridiculous company process
This morning my new Indesit washing machine was delivered to my address and installed via Currys. The delivery driver/installer put the machine on a quick wash to ensure it was working properly and then left to continue with his deliveries. Shortly after he left the machine started to leak from underneath/inside. I called him and he returned and checked the installation and confirmed that it was the machine itself that was faulty.
I called the Indesit helpline and was told that they would have to send out an engineer to check this before replacing the machine or issuing me with a refund. I explained that this was not possible due to the fact that I work long hours and would lose £80 if I took the day off at short notice. I live alone and have no one to sit in and wait for the engineer. I also explained that the fault had already been confirmed by curry's and sending an engineer would be a costly waste of my time.
I made 3 calls in the hope that someone could understand the situation I was in but apparently your 'process' did not allow for common sense or the impact it has on customers' lives. Losing £80 purely for the benefit of your process is unacceptable and unaffordable.
I have spent over £200 on a new washing machine and it is faulty. I should not have to lose further money to enable you to verify the fact that I am not lying.
If Indesit/Curry's have supplied me with a faulty machine then they should should collect the machine and issue me with a refund without me having to jump through hoops and find myself at a significant financial disadvantage. Not only will I lose a days money to accommodate the attendance of an engineer but I will now have to take a further day off to allow for the delivery of a new machine.
Surely an Indesit engineer could inspect the machine once it has been returned
I am utterly disgusted at this process and the impossible situation that I find myself in.
They hate their customers
The customer servicer representatives are all nothing short of imbeciles. 4 times they cancelled the engineers visit and they thought their excuses why they did so were perfectly acceptable and could not understand my disdain for them.
Indesit - Company Name Missing the Letter H
Purchased a Hotpoint Washing Machine NSWR 963C GK UK N on 11 July 21 from Currys. Washing machine installed by Currys 16 Jul 21, fault (smoke emitted from machine after Spin cycle) developed 17 Sep 21, contacted Currys that date, request for a replacement refused and instead referred to Domestic & General (D&G). D&G arranged for Hotpoint Engineer / Technician (HE/T) to inspect the machine on 24 Sep 21. HE/T confirmed the machine was not designed to operate with "less than a full load" and hence the problem. Months of correspondence with Currys ensued but the bottom line is that Curry's has no interest whatsoever after the purchase has been completed. Numerous mails to Indesit have gone unanswered. Purchase from Currys / purchase Hotpoint or Indesit products at your own risk, the customer service is abysmal!
Poor after service
They also own hotpoint - all these bad reviews are true. Paid for extra cover on a hotpoint washing machine via currys, really unfortunant that Hotpoint claim to undertake their own repairs.....3 weeks in a row they have cancelled an engineer visit without any notice and just reschedule.....I have another machine Beko at a differant address which is covered by same insurnace via Currys but they undertake their own repairs and are very reliable...
Steer clear of Indesit Ovens
Purchased an indesit oven around 12 months ago. From the very beginning it has been temperamental and to date we have not been able to bake cake or roast a chicken. Service engineers have attended the property four times stating that the oven passes their tests in terms of temperature etc, however all of their tests are quick and do not measure the performance for a prolonged period of time. The service engineer although polite simply said there was nothing more he could do.
As we have been unable to prove the issue to the service engineers and therefore get a solution from Indesit, we are left with no choice but to simply replace the oven and buy a new one...a very expensive mistake, please do not buy an indesit oven unless you want food poisoning
Terrible products matched only by…
Terrible products matched only by terrible customer service.
You couldn’t deal with a worse company, 3 engineer visits to fix a £5 fan. Took 2 weeks to fix.
Customer service is non existent. Rude call takers who hate customers. Proof if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. A company employing deadbeats is generally run by deadbeats.
Avoid.
Can’t wait for the bot reply to contact these timewasters to resolve my issue, get stuffed it takes them 30 minutes plus to answer a phone.
Horrible product and horrible service.
Horrible product and horrible service.
Bought a washer dryer in March 2021, and now it's October 2021 - had 5 callouts to get a constant leaking issue resolved. Still has not been fixed, and they quote "3 mechanical failures" before they provide a replacement. Their engineers seem incompetent as they don't seem log a fault at all.
Extremely bad practices and awful, awful customer service, as they are trained to follow the script and not do anything outside of it. I don't blame the employees, but the company standards and regulations - utterly ridiculous.
AVOID.
Lesson learnt - never buy Indesit.
My parent's (86yrs old) Fridge Freezer…
My parent's (86yrs old) Fridge Freezer broke down, and we paid for a replacement upfront, with their replacement team we ordered a 'like for like model' over the phone and told (due to waiting on the stock) that it will be a 2-week waiting period for this to arrive.
On the paperwork arriving it was evident the fridge was not 'like for like' as was not a frost free appliance as currently (something 86-year-olds cannot defrost easily)
Having recalled them about not being fit for purpose, they agreed to exchange this for a frost free one. Three weeks have elapsed and no correspondence from them nor fridge freezer.
Called the team today, and they could not give me any news to as and when arriving.
Annoyed that we were spun a story about their delivery dates. They clearly have no idea when their stocks are coming in, but very happy to take money upfront.
They have the money, and my father no better off, still without a functioning fridge.

Rust on tumble dryer.
Our indesit vented tumble dryer is two years old and the front panel is rusting at the top and bottom.
Indesit will not accept any responsibility, and refuse to accept that the machine is faulty.
Would not recommend.
Laughable!
I’ve just paid £54.99 for an engineer to be in my property for 10 minutes. Nothing else. I’m in the wrong job, it’s daylight robbery!
I paid £100.99 to have an engineer fix my Indesit/ Whirlpool tumble dryer that is only blowing cold air.
Upon entering the property I asked hi. To remove his shoes- ‘we’re not allowed to do that’. I then asked if he had shoe covers (as it being Covid times I thought he’d prefer to wear his own)- ‘we’re not provided with them’. So I gave him some of my shoe covers, ‘these won’t fit me, I’ve got big feet!’ And so I assessed that he was a ‘problems person’ and I was only proven right at every time.
I lead him into the bathroom, to show him the tumble dryer, which was installed by his company 6.5 years ago. ‘We have a problem... firstly, I can’t remove the dryer from the shelf in case I break it, so you’ll have to do that. Secondly, if it’s not hardwired, we’re not allowed to work on it’. So I asked him what the solution would be (rather than the endless problems!) ‘Well you’ll have to get it hardwired first then we can see if we can mend it’. So based on a technicality he can’t even assess whether it’s worth mending. So I point to the Miele washing machine beneath it, which was installed 6 weeks prior without requiring hardwiring. ‘Oh, those are much better machines than ours so you don’t need to hard wire them. You’re better off buying a Miele tumble dryer!’
So at exactly 9 minutes and 23 seconds he walks out of the door having informed me that I will receive a full refund. Did I hell, I am entitled to a partial refund as all 9 mins and 53 seconds of the engineer’s time costs £54.99! He even thanked me on his departure for staying so calm, stating that all all his other customers that day had been very irate and angry with him (it was only 8am!) as he’s often having to give bad news. Sounds like a work shy b*stard to me!!

Awful customer service and poor quality products.! My Dishwasher broke a few weeks ago, now awaiting a third visit to try to fix it. Engineers aren’t equipped to do the jobs or very friendly. No complaints procedure to hold anyone to account. Will never buy anything from Them again. I’ve been without a dishwasher for a month now
Indesit oven
Indesit oven. Cheaply made and broke within 2 months. Customer service appaling - waited 3 hours for engineer to come and repair the oven and he didn't bother turn up. Avoid this company - you have been warned!
Horrible washer dryer
Horrible washer dryer, please don't buy , it's my humble request,it will take all day running,
Indesit dishwasher
Indesit dishwasher.
Absolutely shocking product and the worst customer service I have ever experienced and now researching how to report this company to the consumer watchdog. Absolutely, under no circumstances buy their products. Dishwasher brand new bought through John Lewis needed an engineer out after two months for a faulty heater replacement (apparently this is a standard problem with their machines). They took ages to provide engineer, new parts and working machine taking up valuable warranty time. Three more visits in two years for same problem. And the more you complain and ask for a replacement machine, the less they will discuss with you or pass you onto someone who has the authority to authorise. Nothing short of highly stressful and shocking. Stay well away.
Innex washer BWD71453
Innex washer BWD71453, max spin 1400,
aka Everyday 30° Eco.
Not impressed. Wash cycles longer than an hour, others over 2 hours? Who has time to spend all day doing several wash loads? Spin is weak, having to use the spin cycle setting afterward. But even the spin cycle alone only spins for less than 40% of the 10 minute cycle time, and ramps up to 1400rpm for less than 1.5 minutes; you have to spin twice and still items are heavily wet. The Rapid 30 minute wash is a plus, but far too much of that time is idle time.
In 1915 had an older Indesit washer with 1600 spin, hot fill, it was brilliant. We want the hot fill design brought back. Yeah, we know, the wash times are extended to improve wash quality, but that's what the bio-enzyme laundry products are meant to do. With hot fill, we know to use detergent because enzymes are destroyed in hot water and ineffective.
Because of poor performance, I'm unlikely to buy another Indesit washer. Many on washer/dryer forums echo that sentiment.

The engineer from this company INDESIT is acting so unprofessional been waiting 6hours he came he call the door and he just left he didn't even wait for me to go and open the door I can not believe how unprofessional some people they can be
