So happy I finally closed my account and moved to a different bank.
I opened my account when I moved to Germany 8 years ago. I did my research in German banking and ING was an excellent choice vs. the old dinosaurs like Spar*****; free Visa, quick account opening, easy online management, etc.
Back then, I never understood why their interface and customer service is only in German, but I really expected they would offer at least English soon. Well, it never happened... Even my tiny and poor SV does it in its website.
To the point; ING DIBA started charging 0,99 Eur per month for the card. They still charge you a few cents yearly for having an account, while they give you a ridiculous 0.6 annual interest in your open cash.
Their investment app, while still better than others, is confusing to non-DE speakers and commission high against my current.
So, sorry ING but in my opinion you have moved backwards for years. You have become another banking-dinosaur.
My current bank gives me a fully-free Visa card, a better cash-back program, a 3% interest on my cash (non capped) and 0 Eur. commission for having an account. It's accessible in several languages. Their stock-market accessibility is much much wider, cheaper and easier.
Please learn something and apply it. Otherwise you will be extinct soon.
So, very happy to have moved away from you.
Cannot wait for DeFi to be widely adopted.

Impossible to communicate with them. Only telephone bots or via email the famous noreply(at)ing.de. Every commercial or look in the app. Thats the problem never received login details

The bank is a Scam. Until today I was hopping that Diba Bank is good one. But today I know it's a SCAM.
Today I have realized that an account opened on my name since 4 years. So I tried to clarify the problem. Unfortunately Diba employee are extremely arrogant and rough. They refuse to help me at all. Only blaming that I had opened that account and they don't care.
This kind of attitude is most terrible for a customer service. So I applied to Criminal police and Bafin to investigate the case. Since those arrogant employees refuse to help at all.
Very disappointed!!
My request just being rejected by Diba employee. They understood it fully and clearly. However the employee rejected to even clarify the things. They also refuse to provide the information about my own account Saying that "You can look up on your email by yourself ". The most miserable level of costumer service.

I have been trying for six months to change my address from Germany to the UK, so that I can access my German bank account, and close it.
Good God.
I am sitting here with TEN paper letters from ING, and have now telephoned 7 times, and feel like I am INSIDE a Kafka novel. They can't fix the problem. They send me to different departments. I am polite and patient. They tell me I need to legitimate myself again, on the phone, after I've already duly waited my 45 minutes in the queue to do so.
I speak clean, accent-free German.
They sent me a letter CONFIRMING my new address TO my new address.
Then sent another letter TO that address telling me the address hadn't been confirmed.
I still cannot access my acount to clear it out.
Germany: get real. Your bureaucracy is stuck in the stone age. You over-regulated everything to death. How does anyone actually live there like this?
For the record, I lived in DE for over a decade and my experience was that something like this happened approximately bi-monthly. It's utterly insane.
I thank my lucky stars daily that I no longer live there.

To be honest, I've already sent an email to the info@ with photos of the documents.
Next I received another paper letter saying 'Leider können wir Ihnen derzeit keine Auskunft geben' (I have two or three of this specific message (sorry we can't give you any information at the moment).
Then I received an email saying that ING would be sending me the form they need from me by post, which I already sent in August to ING via overnight post, which really isn't cheap these days.
Now I have received the paper form, again. I guess I will fill it out, again, and post it, again.
What else am I to do?]

The Ing Diba app is problematic:
1) the difference between internet banking pin, a Pin, a security code is not obvious . So when I try to log in I am never really sure what the bank wants me to do.
2) to make sure its you, you have to somehow identify yourself. One of the ways is to get your ID scanned. I tried about four times and failed.
3) Now I have to wait three says to get a security code sent by the bank.
4) Every time something does not work, I have to give in all information in again into the app because I am required to log in again!
The app is so difficult. Thank god for the Sparkassen app.
I don‘t understand why there is no central bank manner/way to log in and identify oneself. Does it always have to be this complicated.
I am going on 68. I cannot imagine what older people have to go to get their money.
5) when I finally got someone on the phone, it was very pleasant but unfortunately she could not really solve my log in problems.
My advice to Ing Diba is to talk to other banks and find ways in which to simplify the app.

More modern, the banking app is easy to use with a friendly UX, i recommend ING online bank. There are many ways to grow your finances.

Used to be good when I first joined, however, I have been trying to change my nationality since 5 weeks (already uploaded my ID) and I have not been assisted despite calling, writing emails, and even contacting the bank twice through X. The reply is the same: we are busy please be patient. >5 weeks to change the nationality is very difficult for me to fathom!

EDIT - I am updating my score because although I am still disappointed that the processing time 8 days instead of the advertised 1-2, I do appreciate that they seem to have acted quickly after my initial complaint.
1 star changed to 4 stars for quickly rectifying the issue.

They have gotten worse and worse.
In any case, they were a disaster both in customer service and in their accounts for self-employed people.
And the other type account have low benefict rate.
On top of that, it has happened to me several times that even on business days it took them several days to make a simple transfer.
A complete disaster.
I know that I'm repeating myself, but the costumer service has been one of the worst experience I ever have.

This five-star -best rating- is exclusively for *m* *g*d*, for *m* *g*d*'s excellent work, *m* *g*d* was the only one who treated me as a human being, as a customer. *m* *g*d* is extremely helpful, proactive, professional, patient and supportive, unlike the other ING phone operators who were aggressive with me and treated me like I was a stupid child (even though I am a doctor), constantly trying to get rid of me, not support me.
