False advertising, and no accountability.

I'll start with the positive - when I actually spoke with Emmily she was polite, understanding, apologetic, and nice to talk to, but that's as far as the positives go.

I tried to book a three-day trip to Disneyland Paris for our family of four, and saw a good deal with Instantbreaks so put in all my details and tried to pay the deposit. Having put in my card details to pay, the page said they were held pending approval of the booking. This isn't something I've experienced before; I'm used to finding a flight, train, hotel, park ticket or whatever I'm looking for, agreeing the price, and paying there and then with immediate confirmation. I was instructed to await communication.

After a few hours I receive a missed call and an email asking me to get back in touch - I reply to the email and try to call back several times over the next few hours, being told my "case handler" is not available. I mean, case handler?! For an on-line holiday booking?!
Eventually, Emmily phoned me back at 8pm (she explained why it was so late, so that's not part of the complaint here) but basically said their system had loaded some prices wrong and she could only check with her web team the next day and put together some prices for me. The next day Emmily kindly sends me some options, but all of them are significantly more money (we're talking £200-900) for a lot less (we originally booked two suite rooms which I was told weren't actually available, and now were being offered one shared smaller room in lower rated hotels, plus didn't include the extras we had booked like the character breakfast, etc.). I emailed back to say this was disappointing and although there's nothing much I can do if the suite isn't available (although I'm not convinced that's the case), they could at least try and price match what we originally booked with an alternative.

26 hours pass and no reply so I call, get told Emmily is not available and will phone me back within half hour, another hour passes and nothing. I'm an understanding person and always try to remain understanding and polite, but over two days with me doing the chasing just to try and book a simple weekend break is unacceptable, so I phone back again and say don't worry about Emmily phoning back, just cancel the whole thing.

I understand pricing issues or (slight) fluctuations can happen, I also now understand that many sites will need to hold a booking pending approval of availability from the venue itself. What infuriates me however is the lack of communication, the lack of courtesy just to come back to me when promises were made to do so just to let me know what's happening, the lack of accountability in admitting fault and offering something at least close to the original booking, and how a booking site can show prices which are so astronomically different to what's actually available it's both laughable and somewhere beyond comprehension.

In short I got the feeling that they messed up significantly in terms of price and facility, and as they couldn't match anything anywhere near to what was offered on the site, they just hoped that if they ignored me long enough I'd forget it and move on.

I don't discourage people from using the site as there are enough positive reviews to show that this may have been the anomaly, but from just my experience to go by I would suggest caution when it comes to thinking you'll actually get what you think you're booking. Disappointed is an understatement, and all I can do now is urge Instantbreaks to do much, much better moving forward, because at fault or not, this simply isn't good enough.

Availability and pricing on suites and on request rooms can change due to fluid pricing, which can mean the price changes based on the availability left for these room types or for a particular depature date. When booking your suite online it is a provisional booking for this reason and one of our team will check to confirm the suite is available. If anything has changed from what was booked online, a member of our team will contact you. After discussing the options with our team member, you always have the option to not proceed with the booking due to it being different to what you originally booked. At no time is payment taken until you confirm you are happy with any changes to your original booking.

It is never our intention to provide a service that may be lacking in any way. Please be assured we investigate all negative experiences and look at ways we can improve and offer a better experience for our customers. We appreciate all the comments you highlighted and we will look to address them to avoid this in future.

Avoid

Booked Disney Paris Sequoia lodge As it has a pool staff confirmed it was open upon arrival the pool is closed as being refurbished caused a lot of inconvenience with luggage aswel as the extra u pay to have this little luxury contact instant breaks when I returned stating I was given false information I am now being told they can't find my call recordings to provide evidence I called them at all well ee don't allow the logging of free numbers 01 & 0800 due to offcom Instant breaks take no responsibility to providing me with false information terrible customer service won't use again

Honestly 5* for Emmily 🥇at instant breaks she has made us booking our first trip to Disney a blissful time and to say she has been so helpful with information and tips on Disney itself and making my daughter birthday a magical time
Anything I had questions about she answered and more
I honestly couldn’t of done it with out her help just AMAZING now to enjoy my girls first trip to Disney and celebrate her bday out there

Amazing service and commitment to getting the best holiday!!!!!!!

Would like to thank all the team and especially Jen for making the whole trip to Disneyland Paris a magical experience. After 3 years of cancelations and changed they worked with us all the way through to make sure when we could finally go we got the most out of it. Can not thank you all enough!!!

Scam company

I wanted to take my son for the Orient express murder mystery lunch in November for his birthday. The price advertised was £730. I rang the phone number and Lu said the price was £890 to book now with her! So I booked on their website and paid £730 with my credit card. All went through and I got a booking reference and was told that the documents would be sent. About 30mins after I had made the booking I received a phone
call saying the price had increased to £890!!! I refused to pay this and she said no money would be taken from my account. As far as I am concerned they are a scam company and totally untrustworthy. Don't believe a word that is written on their website. I will be watching my credit card transactions closely.

Instant Breaks made booking Disney…

Instant Breaks made booking Disney easy. They took care of everything and were easy to get hold of if we had any questions. They organised the character dinner and breakfast for us too. Will definitely use them again.

DISNEYLAND PARIS TRIP

From original booking to coming back Jen at instant breaks could not have been any more helpful. Every question was answered quickly and efficiently. She has continued to help since our arrival home with our cancelled flight claim.

Exception Service

Natalie at instant breaks is our go to for anything travel related, not only is she efficient but she is an expert in her field. If she doesn’t know the answer or hasn’t visit the country you are looking to holiday in, she goes out of her way to research the destination and give you the best options, for both resorts and price. Everyone I have spoken to at Instant Breaks is polite, professional and friendly. I have recommended them to everyone I know and my sister booked a short break to Disneyland Paris from with another consultant Ashley, and it was amazing. Great company

An absolute great company to deal with. Not only was it cheaper then all the others I priced it was also so easy to book, make payments and everything went as smooth as it should. I would definitely use this company again.

Delays and disappointment

Early start to day and family all excited until...Flight out delayed due to late arrival of plane & crew the night before and legal break required. Very poor info and bored little people stuck at departure gate where there is nothing to do. Knock on effect was, we missed our slot at Boots & Suits so waited on coach nearly 1hr...further bored little people. We then had to rush around the attractions and with queues we literally had to run between them and we still missed out on some. Coach back to airport also a faff as organisers got groups and pickups mixed up..on coach, off coach, carry on waiting! All in all I think we should have gone for longer. However, amazing landscape and views. Booking staff very helpful, couldnt fault them. On the ground staff in lapland tried their best but they were on the back foot from the lengthy delays at the start. Such a shame and totally gutted and almost wish I had left this on my bucket list as a wish as now it is totally shattered!

Caring staff at Instant Breaks

It appears that all the staff at Instant Breaks really care about you & your family when dealing with quotes & the actual booking of Holidays. They often ring to make sure we are OK & looking forward to our holiday; some thing the larger companies fail to do.

Just remembered these geezers

Just remembered these geezers.

Break cancelled because of COVID. Disney themselves were offering refunds, but these lot refused as ‘my terms were with them, and not Disney’

True I suppose.

Anyway, had to instigate a chargeback to get my refund.
