Irwins Plumbing/Master Trades
Hi all,
I hope this review is pinned top of the list because I worked for the organization that this plumbing brand falls under. The company being: Master Trades Network (Look them up) AI Website
They advertise jobs under Irwin's plumbing and they use that brand for plumbing operations, as someone that worked in their head office it is not run professionally in my honest opinion and I strongly advise to stay away from doing business with Irwin's Plumbing as they have a history of doing this under different plumbing names.
If i could say more I would but not trying to get myself into trouble, regardless stay away

I agree that I am not reviewing a plumbing service as a customer. I am reviewing my experience as a former employee who worked within the organization connected to this brand.
In my view, prospective customers are entitled to consider not only customer experiences but also the experiences of people who have worked within a business and observed its operations firsthand.
The concerns expressed in my review are based on my own observations and experiences during my employment. They are not speculation, nor are they based on hearsay. They are the reasons I formed a negative view of the organisation and why I would not personally recommend it.
Your response asks readers to separate my employment experience from customer experiences. That is fair. However, readers can decide for themselves how much weight they wish to give the observations of someone who worked behind the scenes.
I stand by my review as an honest expression of my opinion based on firsthand experience.

The reviewer states that they previously worked within an organisation associated with the business and has expressed their personal views regarding its internal operations. Those views are their own and should not be confused with an independent customer assessment of the workmanship, service or conduct of Irwin’s Plumbing on a customer’s property.
We take our responsibilities to both our customers and our employees seriously. If a former employee has a genuine workplace concern, we encourage them to raise specific matters through the appropriate channels so they can be properly investigated and addressed.
We must also respectfully reject unsupported suggestions that positive customer reviews are “botted” or otherwise illegitimate. Our customers are entitled to leave genuine feedback about their experiences, whether that feedback is positive or negative.
Where a review is reported to a platform, this is not because criticism is unwelcome. Businesses are entitled to ask review platforms to assess content that may contain inaccurate, misleading, defamatory or unsubstantiated allegations. Severe over quoting
This was a non-emergency scheduled visit from business operating as Irwins Plumbing but invoicing under NStream Plumbing . The Plumber, was courteous and let me know of this arrival time prior to the visit. I required four mixers taps to be replaced, and an external tap washer to be replaced. I supplied the tapwear. The quote for this work was $3700. It is unbelieveable and disrespectful to attempt to quote at this price. This work should take between 1-2 hours maximum and cost $200-400. When I declined the quote, the plumber put his manager on the phone and tried to pressure for a sale at $2400. I declined this as well. The call out fee was $140, I was happy to pay it to send them on their way.
When asked why the quote was so high, the office based customer service rep said that they work on a fixed price servicing model, and that may not benefit all people, especially those with low amounts of work. I believe if they use a fixed price model, then I don't see the need for them to come out and quote as it is not customised to the work you actually require. The quote contained the full replacement of 4 mixers and replacement of the external tap. Odd, considering I supplied the tap wear and washer replacement.
The customer service rep, who responded after my initial review was professional, compassionate, and reasonable, offered a refund of the call out fee. I have declined that offer because it was conditional that I cease writing reviews and consider the matter resolved. I don't consider this resolved at all.

We also understand why you were concerned by the difference between the work you believed was required and the scope presented in the quotation.
Our pricing operates on a fixed-price service model rather than an hourly labour rate, and quotations can include installation, associated plumbing work, fittings, testing, commissioning, warranty obligations and responsibility for the completed installation. However, where a customer is supplying their own tapware, the quotation should still clearly reflect the actual work being proposed and make it easy for the customer to understand exactly what is included.
You have raised a legitimate concern that the quotation appeared to include replacement items or scope beyond what you believed you had requested. We take that feedback seriously and will review how the scope was prepared and explained.
We would also like to clarify that customers are under absolutely no obligation to accept a quotation. Where a manager speaks with a customer after a quotation is declined, the intention is to understand the objection, explain the available options and determine whether an alternative scope may better suit the customer — not to make anyone feel pressured. If that conversation made you uncomfortable, we apologise and will review it.
Your comments regarding the invoicing entity are also something we are happy to clarify directly so there is complete transparency around the contracting entity associated with the attendance and invoice.
Most importantly, we are concerned by your statement that a refund was offered on the condition that you cease posting reviews. Customers are entitled to provide genuine feedback about their experience, whether positive or negative. We will review the relevant communication internally to establish exactly what was said and ensure our processes are being followed appropriately.
We appreciate that you declined the refund because you wanted your concerns properly addressed rather than simply closed off. That is fair feedback.
Our goal is not to be the cheapest plumbing provider in every situation. Our responsibility is to provide customers with professional service, clearly explained options and transparent quotations so they can make an informed decision without obligation.

Absolute scammers
Absolute scammers. Was quoted $4.8k to replace 3 toilet inlet/outlet valves that included a lifetime guarantee. We were told by the “compliance manager”/senior on the phone that we wouldn’t get better value elsewhere. We ended up paying the call out fee of ~$150, but proceeded with another plumber that did the entire job for $210. This profile must be full of fake reviews - there is no way an unethical business like this receives a rating anything beyond 1 star

We would like to clarify that a quotation is provided for consideration and there is never any obligation to proceed with the recommended work. In this instance, you chose not to proceed with our quotation and instead engaged another provider, which we completely respect.
It is also important to note that comparing two prices does not necessarily mean the scope of work, products supplied, warranties, workmanship guarantees and ongoing support are the same. Our quotations are prepared based on the work identified at the property and the level of warranty and service being offered.
We understand that customers will sometimes obtain alternative quotations and choose another provider based on price. That does not make either provider dishonest — it simply means the customer has chosen the option they believe best suits their circumstances.
We do, however, take concerns regarding how our pricing or recommendations were communicated very seriously. If any member of our team made you feel pressured or suggested that you had no reasonable alternative, we would welcome the opportunity to review the call and the quotation internally.
We also respectfully reject the suggestion that our positive reviews are fake. Every customer is entitled to share their experience with Irwin’s Plumbing, whether positive or negative, and we value genuine feedback from both.
Our goal is to provide customers with clear options, explain the proposed work and allow them to make an informed decision before anything proceeds.
