International patients stay AWAY!

My experience at İstanbul Cerrahi Hospital was shocking and unacceptable.

This hospital charges three times the normal market rate simply because you are labelled an international patient. There is no transparency and no justification — just inflated prices and pressure to pay.

The worst experience was on the third floor, where staff were rude, confrontational, and openly hostile. I was quoted ₺55,000 Turkish lira for routine blood tests — a figure that is completely absurd and indefensible. This is nearly £1000 pound, in the UK blood tests are maximum £200.

I refused, left the hospital, and had the exact same blood tests performed at a reputable local laboratory for ₺10,000. This confirms that the hospital was attempting to charge five to ten times the real price. Locals pay 3000 lira for the same blood test.

When I challenged the hospital about this extreme overcharging, I was told — in very blunt terms — that I could either accept their price or leave despite already paying 29000 lira. This is not patient care; it is coercion.

This hospital operates like a money trap for foreigners, not a medical institution. There is no respect, no professionalism, and no ethical pricing.

International patients: stay away.
You will be overcharged, spoken to poorly, and pressured to pay inflated fees.

There are many honest, professional hospitals in Istanbul. This is not one of them.

I stayed 2 nights after having surgery. The room was really nice and very clean. The quality of care from the nurses was outstanding. I've never experienced this great of care at a hospital before. Thank you to all the patient, kind nurses for doing such an amazing job.

I got my septorhinoplasty done with Dr Ibrahim and I am very happy as I am able to breathe now and my medical complications have been solved, the shape is also what I wanted, it is only the start of my journey and I look forward to the end of it. My trip was coordinated very well, everything was organised as agreed, and they are very efficient. I highly recommend.

I felt in good hands and very safe from the first moment. Everybody was kind and the vibes here are very good, even though it's a hospital. The stuff is friendly and carrying. I want to express my sincere gratitude to İstanbul Cerrahi Hospital for the exceptional care my daughter received during her recent Rhinoplasty procedure. Dr. Songül Dursun, along with her assistant Ezgi Altuğ, demonstrated remarkable expertise and provided a comforting, professional experience throughout the entire process.

A special thanks to Mr. Kagan, the administration and marketing coordinator, for his excellent support, and to Adam, one of the dedicated nurses, for his attentive care. The entire team of doctors and nurses made our experience at the hospital truly outstanding.

I highly recommend İstanbul Cerrahi Hospital for anyone considering Rhinoplasty or other medical procedures.

I have never received care as great as I did here. Surgery is surgery, so it will always suck. However, after my surgery, the surgeon visited me every day to see how I was doing. The nurses were also incredible. I was surprised by how much English everyone spoke, and where there were language barriers, we got on fine with Google Translate. They were so gentle and kind and explained everything they were doing when they did them - there's nothing worse than being prodded with needles when you don't know why! One nurse even braided my hair to cheer me up.
The care was also great for my companion. My husband had a pull-out bed in our private room and the nurses provided him with a second set of fresh bedding mid-week. He had very good quality meals provided for him, as well as tea and water.

I was looked after very well at this hospital by the kind staff.
They ensured I was ok through the day and night that I was there.

I am now back in the UK after a 3 night stay at the hospital.
I can only say the care I received was fantastic, the nurses where all so kind.
My operation was carried out by Dr Ali Acar, he was great and his follow up care at the hospital was brilliant.
Also a very big thank you to Çağatay Duman who went above and beyond as a co-ordinator to make sure I was calm and relaxed the whole time.
If you are thinking about coming here for elective surgery from the UK you will be well taken care of.

They took extremely good care of my sister and I’s surgeries, a rhinoplasty and liposuction respectively. Very attentive and caring staff who know exactly what they are doing! Great hands to be in.
