UPDATE - thank you to the chairman of Jackson Stops for calling me. Unfortunately leaves me even more frustrated. Not willing to reimburse me for to not delivering our contract but an admission that processes will be reviewed going forward…… I employed Jackson Stops to let my home to an honest, trustworthy, professional individual. I am not a career landlord but needs must whilst I worked away and I trusted the experience of the agent and that my verbal instructions that were met with many assurances would be delivered. I went with this business as had great service when they sold my property but the sale unfortunately collapsed so I felt duty bound to give them the business on the lettings side. The organisation seemed professional and has a great reputation in the area. I was explicit in my instructions and this was met with many assurances. The tenant stopped paying rent 2 months into the tenancy and although helpful at first, Jackson Stops have turned their back on my predicament and ‘closed the file’ . The tenant was actively recommended and championed by the agent whilst others were discounted. The agent wrote he ‘expected the references to come back perfectly’ even though at that time they hadn’t been referenced. I now realise huge red flags weren’t picked up on the applications, information that only the agent had. Now I have sight after the fact, I am wondering how this ever got passed an experienced Director of the business. Perhaps due to the preconceived idea the tenant was ‘ a nice young woman ‘ and ‘perfect’ . As they got paid but didn’t achieve what we’d agreed and are wholly responsible for my financial and emotional stress, I reached out to JS to give them an opportunity to do the right thing. I asked for a gesture from them to help with the mounting costs to recover my home and was flabbergasted to a polite but firm refusal. I am now 6 months into this nightmare with only Jackson Stops ( and the non paying tenant) benefitting from the whole horrid situation. I was told by the Director responsible that Jackson Stops have never had a situation like the one I face. Perhaps this has led them to complacency and why the obvious flaws in the applications weren’t picked up. I accept JS used a third party to reference and I was privy to the ‘pass’ document but that was all we had, that and being led by the agents recommendation. Him being the only one who had met the applicant and the only one with sight of all information. In a recent conversation the director admitted he had noticed potentially fraudulent information had been given. Had he shared this knowledge, we wouldn’t have progressed. I go back to my instructions, I required an honest, trustworthy, professional tenant. There is copious information in the public domain on this individual, again that only the agent had access to at that time that suggested the risk was high my instructions and a happy outcome for their client (me) was not going to be achieved. I maintain that JS were duty bound to give me all the information, regardless of the positive reference result. Beware!! Ask questions, don’t be swayed by a ‘pass’ based on the most basic of checks and don’t allow the agents opinion to sway you as even though you expect due diligence and impartiality, this particular agent may not deliver that for you as they certainly didn’t for me.

Overall, an outstanding Estate Agents. Oscar has been an absolute dream in helping us with our house hunt. My partner and I have quite a strict criteria, and Oscar has been so attentive and helpful throughout, which has made all the difference in what is usually a stressful process. I'm confident we will find what we're looking for so long as Jackson-Stops is involved.

Shocking service by this estate agent, doesn’t promote your property at all, leaves it sitting on the website for months with no contact from them whatsoever!!
There’s plenty of estate agents out there who will advertise and promote your property in order to seal a sale.
Don’t waste your time with these people.

I dealt with Anthony Inskip all through my property purchase.

Jackson Stop has been absolutely fantastic with our move especially as this move was particularly difficult. The patience and professional attitude was very much appreciated. Anthony was always calm when things seemed to be chaotic, and Tracey would continually smile and accompany potential buyers with enthusiasm and understanding.They always showed possible buyers around the property and would return feed back from those viewings. We bought our house through JS Bury St Edmunds office in October 23 and were guided through the process expertly by the team. We encountered a few not-so-straightforward issues as we moved through the purchase and received knowledgable and supportive guidance (thanks to Rosanna Diaper particularly) which enabled us to communicate well with our seller/solicitors and complete on our new home in time for Christmas. I've been living in a flat managed by Jackson-Stops Teddington office for the past 2 years. Throughout my time, I've found issues attended to relatively quickly and efficiently. Tallulah Keating has recently taken over as the property manager and I've found her to be especially courteous and highly responsive in her approach.

The service from the Bury St Edmunds office is absolutely outstanding. We used them to sell our townhouse in Bury 9 years ago and now I have sold my country home with them. All staff are friendly, extremely kind and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, they know what they are doing.
Charlie has been totally, wonderfully helpful with support and advice far above and beyond what would be expected. The last effort to get a Completion date that didn’t send me into total panic was magic.
Plus, he drove by two properties I was considering, to advise on offers and suitability. Where else could you get such amazing help? I can recommend them to anyone wanting to sell their property.
