Ordered 2 roses for $20.75 per bush, plus a total of $14.95 for shipping. Received one bush and a charge of the entire $14.95 for shipping (total $35.70) for that one bush and back order on the second bush. Next day received notice that the second rose was out of stock. So the one bush cost me $35.70, when I had originally figured to spread the shipping costs over 2 roses-a cost per rose of $ 28.22 total. I never would have ordered one plant at $35.70. When I wrote to the company and asked for a partial refund of my shipping costs or free shipping in 2022 when my out of stock rose was available, I received a nonresponsive "canned" reply. My second email to the company requesting another review of my complaint went unanswered. So I'll take my future business elsewhere and encourage all other rose buyers to use another company.

I placed an order for 2 canna varieties from J&P and when I went to plant them, discovered that one of the packages contained nothing but peat/soil. What kind of quality control is that? I logged a complaint about the order via email with customer service and never received any sort of reply. However, several weeks later I discovered a refund on my credit card with an inexplicable dollar amount. I'll grant you that I got a refund, and it was welcome, but it would have been nice to have gotten an email that it was pending and how it was calculated. It was, in general not a great experience.

Ordered plants in February. Should have shipped in March. Shipped 1/2 of the order in April and sent an email stating they were waiting for others to reach maturity so they could ship them. Finally received these 6 little tiny 4”-6” ferns that made me laugh. The web page did not say that these ferns were new seedlings. In fact the email made me believe they would be what was pictured. I called and explained that these tiny little plants that cost me $80 would need to be sent back. They refused! Said I was not guaranteed an established plant. Save your money. Do not buy from JP.

I’ve been emailing since 4/22 to try and get three roses replaced that were dead when they arrived to me on 3/2 but I haven’t had my email returned since I picked out new plants (since 2 of the 3 are sold out. The roses took over 10 days to arrive which isn’t their fault but when I reached out to their customer service department at that time and I was told to plant them and give them a shot at growing and if they didn’t grown they would replace them free of charge with in a year. When you try calling the recording says to email them. JP Order #WEBJP4113836

I ordered 4 roses and 2 planting enhancers in January 2021 with a shipping schedule (theirs) stating Mid-March delivery. On April 14th, I received an email stating that one of the roses I ordered was no longer available. I sent an email back asking if I could get the bare-root version instead of the container version. They denied this due to accounting problems even though I had not been charged. With the remaining roses I ordered now showing up as sold out, and no indication of shipping 6 weeks after their schedule, I sent an email on April 29th requesting that my order be cancelled but received no reply. On May 4th, I was sent a shipping notice. After seeing all these bad reviews, I dread seeing what they ship. I wish I had looked at these reviews sooner :(

This company is a scam. I paid an average of $25 for each plant. I bought 3 plants. They did not even have free shipping. In fact their shipping amount depended on how much you spent. If you spent more money, you would be paying more shipping charges. At the end, what I got were three half-dead twigs. This has been the worst experience in plant buying so far. Never again.

You do not want to order from this company. They Short you items then are sold out and you can't receive. Hard to get credit issued back to you. Plants are overpriced and for the most part do not come to you in good condition if not already dead
I contacted J&J about my recent order on March 22 and again on April 9th. They have promised my refund of $19.95 both times and I have of today April 18th still nothing. If I don't get my refund soon I will contact the Better Business Bureau. In their response they stated a refund was sent the 16th, but after checking my account the 19th there has not been a refund.

Ordered hydrangea got a tiny little plant for $80. One was dead.
You would think by now I would know better, but I guess not. Tried them again this year, 3 roses, all came bare root and I do mean bear. After one month, ONE rose is growing, one is stuck in neutral and one while not dead is showing on signs of life. These plants were not very old when harvested, had they been smaller they could have shipped in an envelope. Please, NEVER AGAIN!

I don't have words to prescribe this company, I order roses on March 5 until today no answer and no one replied back at emails regarding the order, customer service don't pick up the phones.
I don't know what to do anymore!!!
Better stay away from them!!!

Its that time of year again, I am going to suggest you do NOT buy from these people, they have a money-back guarantee which they do not honor. I bought 5 rose plants from them and 2 at the same time from home depot, all 5 from Jackson & Perkins & scammer arrived dead, not dormant dead. the 2 from home depot planted in the same location are thriving. I wrote to J&P and got no response. It's a shame people do business like this and still exist.

I ordered $185 worth of roses from J&P. They arrived dead (frozen during shipping apparently). I asked for a full refund. I notified them via email with photos. The have not responded. It’s been a week. They say they respond in 2-3 business days. I’m a professional horticulturalist. They have NO live customer service agents. We grow and breed roses, so we know roses. I would recommend buying roses or any nursery products from your local garden center and not J&P.

I received my order last Friday.
To say I was shocked would be an understatement. My order below indicates I spent
$180.34 for 8 plants. I must congratulate the marketing department of Jackson and Perkins for their deceptive strategy of showing plants that are full grown, while you send plants that are all under the height of 5 inches. By the time the plants you sent are fully grown, my grandchildren will be retired.
This exercise was a waste of time and money, and I will let as many people as I can know that what is shown on your website is not the case at all. In fact, it is a flat out lie.
Shame on them.

Below is the letter I sent to Citi Cards regarding my order from Jackson & Perkins. I am upset with JP & Citi Cards as Citi took JP's side on this issue as I never returned the plants. Citi never understood that I couldn't return the product as JP never returned my emails as how to proceed. I am very frustrated.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Please accept this letter as my intent to continue to dispute the charge for 3 pink crush asters I ordered and received from Jackson Perkins on September 15, 2020.
In your December 2, 2020, letter to me regarding the dispute, you asked for proof of returned merchandise. As I explained on the phone to Mary on 10/10/2020, Brian and Abigail on 12/11/2020 (all 3 representing Citi Card dispute division), I never received a response to my emails to Jackson Perkins (#1 on 9/20 & #2 on 9/26/2020 – see attached documentation) and phone calls to JP on 9/20 and 10/10, with no answer, after being on hold for 40 minutes,37 minutes and 7 minutes respectively. How can one make a return without authorization or details of where to send the plants???
The plants arrived half to fully dead, and were so small (6” or smaller) and certainly not as represented by the picture on JP’s website (see picture on my web order enclosed). We followed the directions on how to plant these straggly plants (see planting directions enclosed) in hopes they would “come back” – they did not!
I contacted JP 8/22, after waiting for about 6 weeks for my delivery, asking when I should receive my asters as it was getting late to plant them and have them bloom in PA. They did respond to that email stating they would ship in the fall when temps were cooler. I asked for an exact date, but there was no response to that email. The plants arrived on 9/15 – half dead- and within 5 days we had our first heavy frost which definitely put an end to the asters.
After approximately 2 months, JP finally responded to Citi Card and Citi reversed the charges again, aligning with JP. Nowhere, do I see documentation that you treated us equally, by
Citi Card dispute D-1485511101020 Page 2
requiring them to provide proof they responded to me and tried to rectify my complaint. Citi put the entire burden of proof on YOUR customer, me! Plus you allowed JP to wait 2 months to respond to the dispute and I have 15 days (with Christmas thrown in there), how is that not discriminatory?
The first person I dealt with in your dispute department on 10/10 was Mary and she was extremely helpful. Today, I had the displeasure of dealing with Brian and Abigail who I could barely understand because of their heavy accents. Brian asked me 3 times for my mother’s maiden name and kept repeating the same script. Brian and Abigail were total failures in trying to allay my disgust and utter disappointment in your company.
My husband and I have been loyal Citi Card members for years, but your dispute department has soured us on your willingness to protect your customers from companies selling defective products or in my case, dead plants.
I will await a positive response from Citi and also expect a reversal of the $81.41 charges and a re-opening of the investigation.

I recently ordered roses and immediately followed up with a request that shipment be delayed until I am closer to our frost free date. Instead of working with me on this Jackson Perkins sent an email saying they had already shipped my roses. Too bad for me! I will not be buying roses from them again.

I ordered 5 roses in 2019. . When the box came I followed the instruction. I also notified my gardener to plan those for me. The gardener was skeptical of those roses but planted for me anyway.
3 out of 5 plants did not survive. I called and was credited with some gift certificates to re order later, not replacement.
Finally, both of the roses were blooming with flowers. But both of them were not as I ordered. One was yellow ( I ordered pink and red), one was not the shape and form as in the pictures. I was getting runaround between phone calls and emails. Then another 2 gift cards was issued for those 2. Lost money for the gardener to put those in!!!
Out of 5 roses I ordered, none was good!!! I was not get replacements but credits to buy again...
Now I am trying to use my credits and realized I was not be reimbursed for my shipping, let alone now with the credits I can merely buy 2 roses instead of 5 as an original.
Jackson&Perkins was a great brand of roses and a great place for roses. What happened?
Emailed customer service 2 weeks ago and still has not heard from them.
Don’t want headache? Don’t buy here

I ordered the "Joy of Christmas Cactus" for myself. I paid $44.95 plus shipping and handling bringing my total to $58.73. I was expecting a decent size, red and white plant as shown in the picture. When this plant arrived, it was wilted, in a very small pot, and was pink. When I called Jackson & Perkins customer service, they were not willing to compensate in any way even though I followed their instructions to call if damaged merchandise within 48 hours. I will never order from them again! Poor quality merchandise and poor quality customer service! Don't waste your money

Ordered 4 lavandua sweet romance lavender plants. Shipped on the 16th, arrived on the 21st. 1 nice one, 2 mediocre and 1 crappy one.
Customer service offered me a refund on 3 because they are completely sold out and cannot send replacements. I said I wanted a full refund because I purchased 4 to go together. She will ask whoever because I insisted but it’s obviously not up to me. 🤬
I have emailed them several times & no response. The bush (Kalmia 'Minuet') they sent me was extremely small but I thought I'd give it a try. I sent them pictures showing that it is not growing, but in fact dying - no response. If I could I'd upload the pictures of this so called bush.
