The hori hori knife is an excellent tool - I have used it in the garden a few times in the last few days. It makes weeding much quicker!
Ordering via the website was easy and delivery was very fast. Really happy with my purchase.

Good product, promptly delivered to the wrong place. Found the box in the rain by a field gate 100m from the house.

I bought a deluxe Hori knife, which is amazing quality. I've not given 5* because of the compulsory high next day delivery charge. It would be nice to have a lower cost option. DPD unfortunately took a week to deliver the parcel, but when I contacted Japeto customer service they responded quickly and even sent me a replacement box for the one that was destroyed by DPD.

Easy to order, good communication and prompt delivery. The hori hori is tremendous and I intend to buy more of their tools, lovely quality finish and sturdy. Excellent and highly recommend.

Prompt following day delivery, every thing correct and looking good, have just finished using the long handle shears and can report they are a joy to handle.
The knife currently remains in it's sheaf, but I have used them before and as a new owner count myself lucky.

Bought a Japanese Hori-Hori knife and am delighted with it. Superbly made with the stainless steel blade extending the length of the handle, so excellent at levering out weeds with deep roots. Serrated edge on one side v helpful for cutting roots, twine etc.

Great tools, well made and quickly delivered. The was a manufacturing issue with the secateurs but customer service’s responded quickly, apologised and replaced them without issue.

I ordered a Hori Hori Knife Deluxe & Leather Holster late on Monday evening and paid £8.95 for next day delivery. The item arrived on Wednesday as expected. This was to have the item in time for a birthday on Sunday, so plenty of time.

Upon opening, I noticed I'd been shipped the wrong item. Instead of a rosewood handle with a light blade, it was a light-coloured handle with a dark blade -- not what I'd ordered.

I contacted the sales team immediately and, in fairness, I received a quick response from Declan who confirmed there had been an accidental miss-pick from their warehouse. I was assured that the incorrect item would be collected and the correct item would be arranged ASAP.

Two days later, a DPD courier collected the item. My partner queried whether they had a replacement with them on the off chance and was told they were only here to collect.

I sent a follow-up email to confirm the collection had happened and asked if a tracking number could be shared for the inbound item. No reply all afternoon.

In summary, they've taken my money, messed up the order and failed to get me a replacement in time for a birthday gift. It should've been expedited for next day delivery on Thursday, Friday at the latest, and it clearly wasn't. Instead they appear to have prioritised the return of their own item.

With service this poor, I wish in hindsight I'd spent my money elsewhere. Now I'm forced to go out of my way this weekend to pick up another gift to replace this one.

UPDATE:

Japeto eventually made good and replaced the incorrect item, albeit after the date I needed it; and as a gesture of goodwill, issued a refund for the full amount, which was unexpected and welcome.

I've therefore decided to revise my 1-star review to a 3-star to reflect the good after-service. It was also enough to secure me as a potential returning customer.

I received the deluxe Hori Hori and deluxe Hoe and digging fork. Both items are very well made, incredibly good value for the money paid. I’m strong and I have no fear of breaking either, the hoe/digging fork is such a revelation in its ability to multitask. These tools have been a great and wondrous gift to my life. Thank you Japeto.

I have a wonderful set of Japeto garden tools....I love them, they're ergonomically easy and comfortable to use....and really good quality of materials and manufacture.

Recently I had a problem with the spring in the secateurs. When I wrote to them explaining my problem, without hesitation they offered to send Mae a new pair which arrived the next day . Fabulous,!

Excellent product good quality and also a very quick response to my e mailed question . I cannot express how professional this experience of ordering online and the positive reaction and swift delivery . All went without one hitch . I've bought a couple of JAPETO hori-hori knives - one for me, the other for my son. We cannot speak highly enough of their usefulness in the garden. Neither of us would consider using a trowel again. I've also bought some secateurs for my wife. She is really impressed with the quality of the product. The JAPETO staff are very prompt when addressing emails and the delivery of the goods has been swift. We shall be ordering further garden tools from JAPETO.

I’d ordered a standard Hori Hori knife, not realising it has a different handle shape and a shorter tang than the deluxe version. When I contacted them to see about an exchange, the response was rather delayed, but they were very apologetic once they replied and said they’d sent out the deluxe version at no charge to me. Mistakes happen to everyone and I very much appreciate the extra effort that was above and beyond. Many thanks!

Had to change engraving details after order for urgent gift item. Very helpful and were able to help. Great company with NHS discount too.

I went to order the ‘Japanese Gardening Tool Gift Box’ from Japeto for my partner’s 50th birthday only to discover that they were ‘out of stock’ and not likely to get replacement inventory until midsummer.

When I rang to enquire I dealt with a lovely, friendly and extremely helpful young man called Declan who promptly took it upon himself to call their engraver to check whether he had any spare inventory. As it happens he did, much to my delight and surprise.

I have subsequently had a couple of other interactions with Declan and he has been extremely helpful and accommodating each and every time, he’s a real credit to the company.

I love these tools for my gardening. I have the shears, hori hori deluxe knife, grafting knife. All the tool I could possibly need. Tool are great and I’ve been using them for ages and not worn at all. Great customer service from the team too.
