My Christmas Present to myself as I have big dreams and goals for my writing in 2026! I've attended a number of free workshops in 2025 and I've learnt so much and been inspired to work even harder to make my writing dreams come true.

Without Jericho I would still be lost on my lonely writing island . Floating aimlessly without any direction . They are a critical professional resource that enables success and progress. They are passionate and dedicated . Thank you Jericho . Karen Webb

Going it (almost) alone on a writing journey, it's daunting. There's excitement quickly dashed by imposter syndrome, there's de ja vu, re-writing the same thing over and over again, and there's abject loneliness in the struggle to come through with something worthy of a stranger's time. The help offered by Jericho Writers is, firstly, free, with a wide range of courses also available for a fee, but it's a window into a safe learning environment for the self-doubting debut author and a chance to re-engage with the possible.

I love Jericho Writers. It gave me the essential foundations for writing and planning. I am not a member, but I still benefit a lot from this. THANK YOU SO MUCH Jericho for all the resources.

Jericho Writers is an invaluable resource for writers. I can't emphasize enough how the support they offer has kept me from giving up. My recent developmental edit with Lesley McDowell validated what I'm doing right and gave me expert advice on where and how to improve my manuscript. I've learned a great deal from Jericho Writers.

Jericho Writers Newsletter is literally the only newsletter I actually ready from the beginning to the end. And often several times. Small pearls of wisdom, little “aha!” moments, and not so little “ why did I not think of that myself?!” revelations. Thank you 🙏

I asked a published author what to do next with my almost finished first novel. She suggested if nothing more I should attend the Writers Festival organised by Jericho Writers. I only went for one day and guess what? I won a Premium membership with them! This has been fantastic, there are so many resources, so much support and they are a really nice down to earth group of people. I met many other writers/authors and attended interesting discussions and joined small groups where we could ask questions. With a one-to-one with a published crime writer, I came away with so much guidance and direction. Writing can be a lonely business but Jericho communicate weekly and there's always an invitation to watch or attend something online that will help hone your skills. They are extremely encouraging and are not pushy which is great. I'm really happy to have won such a prestigious membership.

I have learnt so much in the past year, I'll definitely be rejoining. It took a few weeks before I was brave enough to take part in the Friday Feedback, but definitely worth the effort - the more you put in, the more you take out. And I really enjoy being able to take part live, or when I'm ready, with the self-paced video courses (free to Premium members). They continually nudge me in the right direction.
And so, in this first year of membership I've also received free feedback on my query letter - extremely helpful; the reciprocated feedback from 2 Beta readers; insight to other members writing styles, likes and dislikes; and discovery of ways to lightly plot a novel in future rather than writing by the seat of my pants, and rewriting, rewriting, rewriting numerous times without realising why an 85k novel is just not coming together! I splashed out for a JW's editor, the lovely Lesley McDowell, to carry out an MS assessment on my latest novel, no.4, Cobblers to Sydney, for which I'm now seeking an agent. All in all, an excellent year of learning and writing, and a huge sense of belonging to a writing community. Thanks everyone.
Following research into the different online 'Write Your Novel' courses on offer, I selected Jericho because I was drawn to the amount of tutor feedback, a full editorial of my draft (yet to be completed!) and industry contacts / agent meetings. I started their Ultimate Novel Writing Course in October and I've already learnt so much. I can see improvements in my plot structure already, and the best thing - I'm being pushed to write and I'm enjoying it! Tutor support is excellent and thorough, and the resources available to members are far to numerous to mention and cover every genre and aspect of writing. The resources vary from lectures (which are fascinating and concise) to written articles, and helpful templates. I wanted to write this review because I couldn't find many on the Ultimate Novel Writing Course before signing up, and I felt like I was taking a leap of faith - so if you're considering it, I wholeheartedly recommend it.
I cannot praise Anna enough for looking at my query letter. She instilled confidence in me with parts I had written that I felt maybe hadn't hit the mark - and the questions I asked about plot summary were answered in detail, extremely helpful and finally helped me see the wood from the trees!
I would definitely recommend a review. It does help to have an expert cast an eye... Thank you Anna.
If you want to write a book and don't know where to start Jericho Writers is the place for you. Supportive community of writers run by a dedicated team and packed with Videos and information. Sometimes the website is a bit clunky and I've had some minor frustrations around that but overall love it. You get as much out as you put in. And a lot of the content is free if you don't want to join.
Jericho always provides something new to think about or a new way to consider the art of writing. So appreciated! J
I've only subscribed to the Jericho Writers newsletter last week and so far, it's equally amusing and useful.
Though I am not trying to write a fiction novel or crime thriller, but rather a children story, the most recent edition about finding your voice made me wonder why I chose my main character, and what I'm trying to say through it (because it's a trampoline). I might have the courage to book a one-on-one agent session soon!!
I signed up as a member of Jericho writers in November and booked an agent 1 to 1 in December. By January I was represented by a brilliant agent who is helping me take the next step towards getting published.
Through Jericho I have set up a writing group of similar and yet varied writers who are incredibly supportive.
I've used their courses as motivators and productive procrastination, which slows down the writing process but improves my skills and knowledge.
I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to take writing seriously.
Victoria provided very comprehensive notes on my three stories in conjunction with a later online face to face meeting.
Her knowledge and constructive direction has proved invaluable and has helped me keep my focus and I now feel confident to take my stories forward. Her experience in the publishing industry I have found invaluable going forward. It was a very smooth process to engage with Victoria and I have no hesitation in recommending her as a mentor.
I had an editor provide feedback on my agent submission packet. I was given a complete report on my query letter, synopsis and first 10K of my manuscript. I was so pleased to see the report in my inbox so quickly. I was able to take action on his advice immediately. I was very happy with his suggestions for the query letter - the advice I think makes a greater impact on an agent. I was thrilled that he liked what I'd written and gave suggestions for improvement of sentences, etc. and for formatting to make it easier to read and to improve appearance of manuscript - which I hadn't even thought of.
Jericho has continued to send me regular e-mails when I have been suffering a bit from the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. Quite often these communications were amongst tax demand e-mails and similar correspondence.
Their writers wrote fun e-mails, good to read and a pleasant relief from the dross which can flood the internet.
