Mr. Mustafa Barak (solicitor and previous owner/director of Saffron) has operated under restricted license since 2021, having been fined by the Solicitor's Regulatory Authority: (i) Mr. Barak failed to ensure that client information was kept confidential when 242 wills plus the names and addresses of over 11,000 clients were removed from the firm and not properly secured. (ii) Mr. Barak failed to ensure that the firm’s dealings with client money were appropriately recorded and complaint account reconciliations were undertaken.
Mr. Barak has a manner and tone which does not align with the expectations of a legal professional; and has a patronising approach with women. I would recommend any client to check qualifications and expertise within this practice carefully before instructing.
