Beware Julia Travel- Spain Tours. They rob you of your money with no refund policy eventhough their guide was no-show
Beware Julia Travel - book at your own risk
It was a very distressing and disappointing moment for me. I spent 10 years to save up for a European holiday for my mum. We went to Portugal and Spain - Madrid and Seville.
In Seville I booked a walking tour with flamenco show, the details in the itinerary stated the meeting point is for 20:00hrs at main entrance of Alfonso XIII Lucury Hotel, and we are to arrive 15 mins prior to departure at 20:00hrs As our hotel was quite a distance, we took a Bolt to Alfonso hotel. We arrived 20 mins prior to 20:00hrs but already knew something was amiss because we were the only 2 lost looking souls. We waited and about 19,50hrs we approached front desk to check if we are indeed in the correct address 2 San Fernando and they confirmed it. We also approached random groups and asked if they were part of Julia Travel English speaking walking tour, and none were part of this group. One tour guide suggested to call OUR GUIDE but there was no phone number provided. We waited past 20.00hrs and then contacted Klook Customer service and we explained and provided evidence ce of time of arrival, copy of our tour voucher with details of meet up location and also evidence we were in the correct address but Klook could not do much element escalate for further investigation. We left at 20.30hrs very disappointed and distressed on the no show!
The next day after fornally writing in with my feedback and submitted the Evidence twice, Klook said the operator Julia Travel had reviewed my case and will not be refunding due to the operator policy. Operator policy is no cancellation and non refundable. My written messages to Julia Travel via an app was also never responded to. So guys, please beware of this. Julia Travel can cheat with a no show because of their non refundable policy which Klook cant do anything about, means you would lose the entirety of the cost of booking the tour. Klook offered a compensation of 30% in Klook Cash which I doubt I'll ever need as this trip was 10 years worth of savings. I am so upset with the dishonesty of Julia Travel. It really marred our otherwise, lovely few days in Seville. Shame on Julia Travel!
Very enjoyable half day trip
We went to Toledo for a half day trip from Madrid with Julia Travel booked through get your guide ( originally it was a full day with winery trip but it was cancelled the day before due to lack of numbers ). Everything ran smoothly and we had a very interesting and informative tour. Our guide ( can't remember her name, mature lady with blonde bob style haircut and a nice beige coat) was very, very good and conducted the tour in Spanish and English effortlessly. She delivered the content in a very friendly and interesting way and made it a very enjoyable trip.
Spectacular
Me and my mum went to Gibraltar through Julietravel in fengerola In December 25 it was spectacular very nice service and customer service I really have not got a bad word to say about julietravel
Thank you for the memories
No service but no refunds either.
Bought tickets on Internet. Demo in Barcelona meant service couldn't operate as advertised and could guarantee return trip! Didn't use tickets and requested refund. Julia travel said small print says no refund due to force majeur clause! Ie they can't provide service and WILL keep your money. Very poor response.
Don't use them!

Their tour guide did not show up. When I contacted them they told me to call Get Your Guide as I bought the tour through them. They gave no apologies, no explanation and took no ownership.
If you book a tour through any of the tour distribution companies and then find out that Julia Travel is delivering the tour, cancel and book elsewhere.
Super bad
Super bad, we were late 5 min, they didnt allow us to access the park, no refund, no access, only reschedule with a higher amount from the official. Which will cost us 120 euros instead of 36 from official. Super bad
Julia Travel Tangier Full Day Disaster
Julia Travel – Tangier Full-Day Tour
⭐ Value for Money: 0 out of 5
This tour was a major letdown and I wouldn’t recommend it.
Excessive Travel Time: It took almost 5 hours to reach the ferry port, followed by 2.5 hours of inefficiency and waiting around. That’s a total of 7.5 hours before the ferry even set sail.
No Toilet Access: No scheduled toilet stops between Malaga and the ferry port, and the bus toilets were locked.
Time in Tangier: We had just 3.5 to 4 hours in Tangier, most of which was spent at locations clearly tied to the guide’s personal arrangements—more shopping than sightseeing.
Return Delays: After returning to Spain, we waited about an hour for the bus to collect us.
Transport Quality in Morocco: The bus had no working air conditioning, and the microphone system was terrible, making it impossible to hear the guide.
Final Straw: Frustrated with more unnecessary stops on the way back, I eventually left the tour and took an Uber.
If you're considering a trip to Tangier from Malaga, book a flight instead. It’s cheaper, quicker, and you’ll avoid a full day of regrets.
Great experience
Guys, wow! We went to the Sagrada Familia tour, and Cassandra was absolutely amazing.
Normally, we avoid guided tours because most tour guides tend to be a bit boring - but Cassandra kept it interesting from start to finish.
Now, here's another thing! We originally booked to go in with another company... which cancelled it a few days before the scheduled date (apparently, they didn't have the tickets), and everyone else online was asking for stupid amounts of money for tickets.
But I saw good reviews for Julia Travel and decided to message them - I was told that they have tickets and to come to the office. I came, and they had many options and for prices much lower than the rest.
When we go to Spain again, we'll definitely use Julia Travel.
NEVER use Julia Travel imo
I attempted to book a Barcelona hop on tour on Expedia. I received a message that it didn't go through so I paid for the tickets on the bus. Once I was seated the tickets came through on Expedia. I immediately wrote to Julia travel- no response. I wrote to Expedia who said Julia travel won't refund me.
Do NOT do business with this unprofessional organization. They only want your money -2x the cost. Very poor operation.
The worst customer service possible
The worst customer service possible.
When you board their Hop in/Hop off buses they scan your tickets each time you do that. My friends traveled before and told me that they do.
I bought my tickets online but never used those. They were good for 48-hours use. I have called them to get a refund since I haven’t used them. They declined. Quite rude, too.
Called Expedia and they tried to talk to Julia tours but to no avail.
In a nutshell: if you happen to be in a similar situation they will never refund your money.
Once again: I have never used the tickets, called them right away not a week later. And they can easily verify that the tickets weren’t used as they’re scanning those barcodes on them.
The worst experience in Barcelona for me. They want your money even if they didn’t earn it. In my eyes they stole my money. Thieves.
We had a fine visit to Montserrat.

Great guide in Valerie - helpful and informative.
Monseratt a place of amazing mountains and a decent BBC!
Do not book with Julia Travel
Do not book with Julia travel ever. They don’t care what your circumstances are ever. Once they have your money, that’s it. You can scream bloody murder and they won’t care. All you’ll get is an “I’m sorry’ there’s nothing I can do about it”!

Spain, Portugal and Morocco-18 day tour
It wasn’t until we had paid our full fee that we received some paperwork which let us know that the tour was actually to be run by Julia Travel. I queried this as I had not wanted to book our tour with this company, and was informed that they get Julia Travel (JT) to organise accommodation and travel (which to me is the entire tour).
The tour was ok is some parts but extremely disappointing in others. The group changes, numbers get up to 62, the bus is hot and crowded, but the biggest disappointment is for English speaking passengers. At times, especially on the Morocco section, we were left confused and not being given directions at all. For example, the bus pulled up and directions were only given in Spanish, so we didn’t know why people were getting off or what we had to do. We certainly did not get the amount of information that Spanish speakers got., and what we did get was difficult to understand.
Many of the local guided tours were very basic – a lot of time spent getting off and on the bus to see one monument then move on. Information given was really not very interesting.
The information given once we got to our hotel was poor – nothing written, only brief explanations of where you could eat or what is good to see, and this was given quickly and very hard to understand. Most of the older passengers just stayed in the hotel because they didn’t know where else to go. This was the same when we arrived somewhere and had free time to explore – most (especially English speakers) were left confused and not really knowing where they should go.
Our itinerary for Morocco was changed last minute – which meant we had 2 nights in Casablanca instead of 1xCasablanca 1xMarrakesh. This meant that we spent over 7 hours in the bus to visit Marrakesh for just a couple of hours. It was really rushed, and we really only saw the market and a bite to eat. When I queried the change with Destination Services (DS) they told me I had to contact Julia Travel (JT) for further information. I spent a lot of my holiday time calling and texting JT to give them all the information, only to be told I had to contact my Travel agent (DS). It was very frustrating and DS were dismissive and at times rude when dealing with them. They had a real ‘don’t care’ attitude.
Having spent 2 nights in Casablanca the only places we got to set foot on were a Mosque and the hotel. Very disappointing. It seemed like a market and mosques were all that we got to see in Morocco. We felt it was such a waste of time and money for us, being so rushed and so much time spent on the bus/ferry to get there. The guide for this section gave repetitive, boring information that really did not add value to the trip.
The accommodation might be at 4 star hotels but we were often given rooms that were not up to scratch, needing work, overlooking a carpark or brick wall or in a basement section of the hotel.
I don’t recommend this trip, especially for English speakers, and I am very disappointed with Destination Services – I’m really not sure what service they provide except to take your money, outsource and then wipe their hands.
Avoid Julia Travel
Would advise anyone who is thinking of booking with Julia Travel to avoid this company at all costs. Traveled to Tangier with this company to our regret as the “tour “is mainly a sales trip for carpets and argon oil.Tangier is a beautiful clean city and had more to offer than Julia Travel offered us.
On our return to Spain and eventually to Wyndham Resort we were abandoned at side of the road to be told (which was a lie) that a shuttle bus had been arranged for us to take us back to our accommodation. We are fortunate that Wyndham is a reputable company and they came to our assistance after getting hold of the night manager who arranged transport back to our accommodation.
SCAMMERS who ruined my trip to barcelona
I stayed in Barcelona to visit the sagrada familia. Ultimately for nothing and now you have wasted my time, money and energy. I neatly bought my tickets for a tour guide at Julia travel via get your guide. That's how I received my tickets and confirmation. After I checked out of the hotel, I went to wait for the tour that would be at 3:00 PM. I was also there in plenty of time, after I wanted to register at the desk, the person behind the desk indicated that there was no room left. Few seconds later the same is told to another person and that the only option is to move the booking to another day or request a refund. This is absolutely disgusting, without any understanding that I booked an extra day hotel for this visit and also only waited for the tour after checking out of the hotel. After this I would immediately leave back to the Netherlands. I think this is absolutely NOT normal and really NOT possible. And then also that it becomes my problem that it supposedly went wrong with get your guide. While they already have a ready-made form that they are so-called 'Sorry' that there was a problem when booking the ticket. which is that they do this more often. This is my complaint and you should NOT BOOK at Julia Travel they are scammers. I want to get my full amount back. You ruined my trip to barcelona
Terrible
Terrible,
We had a confirmation but they said that the tour was full.
When the seller viator try to call them to see whats going on, they refuse to talk to them
Julia Travel lied to us
Viator booked our excursion to Caminito del Rey, Spain, with Julia Travel. What a mistake! On the day of the excursion, we drove 1-1/2 hours to the designated bus stop. As other tour busses were lining up, I noticed that there wasn't one for Julia Travel. I called and was told the excursion was cancelled. "Because of yesterday's heavy rains, Caminito del Rey is closed down. You can ask for a full refund or try next week (when we were heading back to the U.S)." So we opted for a full refund, which we had to do through Viator. It turned out that Caminito del Rey was not close after all, and other tour companies were running on schedule. That meant Julia Travel lied to us. Fortunately, we were able to join visitanddo.com as they had last-minute cancellations. I highly recommend vistanddo.com!
Disorganized
We did not choose Julià Travels as it was chosen for us by Exoticca Travel when we booked our Portugal & Spain tour through Exoticca. The Portugal tour was completely managed by Exottica which was ok but Julià Travel in Spain was a disaster. This is a one disorganized company; they made a lot of mistakes in the tour/plan. They gave two people the same train ticket (Madrid -> Barcelona) and both of us had to deal with the pissed off train conductor. I had to reach out to Exoticca and they found their mistake and sent the right ticket via whatsapp. Though it was fixed half way during the journey, it's scary and stressful to say the least. Unlike Portugal tours where they come to your hotel to pick up, Julia Travel wants us to come to some meeting point without any clear address or direction that you can get an uber or taxi so we ended up missing part of the tour on one day and the entire tour on Barcelona because there was no taxi or uber we can find from the hotel they put us on. So we ended up booking another tour on our own, again stress, additional cost etc. What is the point of booking a tour company if you had to run around and catch-up with them using the worst possible directions, in Spanish to make it even worse.
Overall, it was a bad experience with Julià Travel.
Scam alert - Julia Travel. Buyer Beware.
Scam alert - Julia Travel. Buyer Beware.
Julia travel are responsible for ruining my Barcelona holiday .Avoid using them at all costs.
I purchased tickets for the Barcelona stadium tour , and Julia travel refused to email me the tickets. They advised I had to collect the tickets in person, however, the tickets were purchased online at 16:45 and their office closed at 17:00. I told them its literally impossible for me to travel to their office in 15 minutes before closing. They said I can get the tickets the next day, but this was no use as my flights home were the following afternoon. Thus, the next day I got a taxi to their office and a member of staff who was all smiles and very nice said " no problem I completely understand, i will leave a note on file and rest assured you will get a refund of 72 euro". I then arrive home back in Ireland, and two days later I follow-up only to be told I'm not getting a refund...... In short, Julia travel are aware it was not possible for me to go on the tour, I made them aware of this immediately. They then lied about a refund, and only told me it was denied after I arrive back home.
My advice to other travelers: I used many tour operators before, and I don't like leaving negative reviews but I can honestly say Julia travel has been the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I hope this review helps others avoid this company. Even if I don't get a refund, I'm happy if I can help others avoid this company.
Barcelona City tour - No one answers to your mail - Worst support
4 weeks ago, on 29.08. I had bought 2 tickets online at The homepage of Barcelona City Tour for a day ticket for the sightseeing bus. The total price was 54 EUR.
After the purchase, I did not receive any e-mails with the tickets. I waited a few minutes, checked spam and then called a service number (+34933176454). The person on the phone was very nice and explained that there were problems with sending the tickets at the moment. She advised me to send my request by email to get a refund.
The same day I sent an email the one I got named. I attached a screenshot of the payment and clearly described the issue.
There was no reply from Julia Travel. I wrote further emails on 4 September, 16 September and 22 September. For the last two I also included a mail found on their website in the mails sent.
After 4 weeks and 4 mails to 2 mail addresses still no answer.
I understand that sometimes something doesn't work and no tickets are sent. But paying for something you can't use and then not getting an answer after 4 weeks is simply not acceptable.
I don't understand how a company with such poor customer service can act economically in the long term. I am disappointed in Julia Travel, the employees who saw the email and willingly did not reply.
The tour was good and can recommend it, but please do not buy tickets online. There is a risk that you will not get them sent to you. And no one will respond to your attempts to contact them.
