Ordered the Jungle Gym cocoon

Ordered the Jungle Gym cocoon, very pleased with the result.

It took quite some time to assemble the thing. The instructions are like Ikea's, so not too much text and some twisting and turning of the posts. In the end we made it work and the tower looks great.

The joy I see my kids get out of the playhouse is the best thing in the world, hence this review.

Shocking customer service

So, we designed and built a climbing frame for the garden. And the upshot is, now that it's here and up, it looks great, the kids (age 3 and 4) love it, and it is clearly designed with safety in mind.

BUT the negatives:

Absolutely SHOCKING customer service, considering the cost of the item.

Website stated 5-15 days for delivery. After 15 days I received a dispatch notification, nothing arrived and there were no further updates. In the end I was forced to constantly chase. Customer services quickly stopped answering the phone and emails, despite the urgency of the fact I had spent £1100 and no one could tell me where the item was, other than it had been 'dispatched'. No solutions were offered.

After hours on hold, and with no luck contacting Jungle Gym, I managed to track down the item with the help of a timber depot which I had identified in Glasgow through some detective work. This took literally hours of my time and it arrived a month after ordering. No apology from JG, or acknowledgement.

Then the build: the website suggested 2 people could build the basic structure in 6 hours. It did not state the number of additional tools needed to build. It took 4 DIY-minded adults 15 hours to build, and we luckily had an impact driver, drill, jigsaw and trestle, which you could not manage without. The "instructions" were laughable.

Would not recommend this company. Felt for a long time like I was being scammed. I'm sure similar products could be purchased cheaper and with a better customer service experience from a multitude of other companies.

Defective wood

Some of the key pieces of wood were defective (badly bowed i.e. bent and distorted). Our handymen who were attempting construction said that the wooden post was the most badly bowed piece of wood he's ever seen and it would be unsafe to use. They had to stop build part way through whilst I raised the issue with Jungle Gym. Jungle Gym (incredibly because I've sent them pictures and videos) are trying to say that the wood is just slightly bent and ok to use. So they want me to use an unsafe bit of wood which is key to the structure, which means the structure is unsafe and might collapse with my kids on it. Unbelievable, deceitful and dishonourable company. Avoid at all costs.

Three attempts at getting the right parts delivered !

We ordered a Resort 2-Climb from JungleGym.co.uk
Only bits were missing and wrong upon arrival. The swing climb assembly kit was missing. Contacted Jungle Gym and they asked me to do a full audit of all the parts including the wood. This is when I discovered that two pieces of wood were the incorrect size. Informed the company and they said they would send out the missing/replacement parts.

A while later two pieced of wood arrived, but they were same as the incorrect ones originally sent and still no assembly kit. When i contacted them they said they had proof that they had been delivered, so I asked for the proof, just a delivery note and no photograph. So I double checked around the property to see if the box had been left anywhere else, it was nowhere to be seen, after a long discussion they said they'd send out the missing/incorrect parts.

A while later two pieces of wood arrived and they are the right ones, but STILL NO ASEBMLY KIT ! Grrrrrrrr !

What does it take to get this right !

Jungle Gym Review - Safari 1-Swing

We ordered the Safari 1-Swing in June. The delivery was delayed, which is somehow understandable considering the Covid19 situation. Although they could have been more proactive regarding communication of the delay, the customer service team was really helpful. I do not recall her name but a very kind woman kept us up to date about the delivery process and the expected delay. My husband and I are not the best DIYers, so it was a fun and challenging exercise building the play set. It took a weekend for us to build it up but the kids are extremely happy now. The product looks really nice and gets even more use than expected. Overall, really happy with the product

Stay well away from Jungle Gym

Stay well away from Jungle Gym

I ordered a climbing frame and swing module in April, arrived by the end of April in time for my daughters birthday but... missing parts and the incorrect lengths of wood (too short)
also some wood was substandard, cracks, warped & twists and some looking very aged/weathered compared to others.

I escalated my issues to Jungle Gym and I must have sent over 100 emails now, I hardly ever get a response, they have still not sent me the missing/incorrect items.

Its been nearly 2 months now since I received the kit and I still have a half built climbing frame in the garden.

Their customer service is absolutely appalling, when they do finally respond to an email, they avoid answering the questions I have asked, they don't accept responsibly for anything and nor do they commit to resolving the issue.

I wish I had never bothered ordering from them now, not worth the time and hassle!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
