Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 61 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the service, describing it as unsatisfactory, often receiving generic answers that were freely available online. Customers frequently reported being charged significantly more than the initial advertised price for a single question, with unexpected charges appearing on their cards. These unexpected charges often led to frustration, as people felt there was a lack of clarity about the true cost. A significant number of people also felt that they were unknowingly enrolled in monthly subscriptions, despite agreeing only to a one-time fee. Reviewers found it difficult to cancel these subscriptions and obtain refunds for the unexpected payments, even when the service provided no value. Some customers mentioned that their banks intervened to block problematic transactions, highlighting the severity of the billing issues.

Thieves

Thieves! I was trying to reach another company, and this number popped up. They said was a one-time $5 fee, and, thinking it was the company I was trying to reach it. Next thing I see is a$55 charge on my credit card that I knew nothing about!

Just Ask is a SCAM

Just Ask is a SCAM. The crooks that run it have a smart "business" model. They prey on unsuspecting people who think they are getting technical or legal help from another organization. I paid the "fully refundable" five dollars , and then my credit card was charged $50.00, but I received no service.

This company is the worst of scams

This company is the worst of scams. They charge for the answer $NZ2 but then charge you a subscription of $NZ70 per month with the credit card information you give for the Just answer help charge. This was NEVER told to me & they are not refunding it - saying that is just "the rules". What rules! Ask for a supervisor - 'they dont have one at the moment'. I have my bank investigating for me Kath

Dishonest, fraudulent and ineffective service.

I spent 1/2 hour in an online chat with tech Josh, who guided me through steps I had already taken to resolve an issue with Microsoft. I asked in very beginning how much help from JustAnswer would cost and they responded, $5. The tech was unable to resolve my issue and I saw that they had also billed me an additional $48 for a monthly membership, which (surprise!), they never mentioned, nor is it spelled out on their website. I immediately contacted their customer service by chat, the only way available to me, and they cut me off after saying that I could continue to enjoy the membership. Terrible, terrible, deceitful, dishonest, fraudulent service.

As so many others have experienced

As so many others have experienced, I was told there would be a $5 charge to speak to a vet, but $70 was charged to my account. I called the number provided by the company to my bank and it was a scam site with additional "special offers" and no ability to speak to a human. Found another number online and they told me I had given consent for a membership, which I absolutely did not. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They said one would call me back. Still waiting....

Another bloody Con

This is not just answer. This is a con. Asks for £7 then £38 for a phone call that doesn't come. They then subscribe you to pay £38 a month.

I am sure even the answers were just straight for an AI website.

Scam - google should ban this site

I was having problem accessing my Google account though I’d done all steps possible. In desperation, I accessed YouTube TV app via my fingerprint and went to their ‘help’. Help advised I’d be transferred to a person that could help but it would cost $5. I was transferred to David at Just Ask and he started advising me to try all the steps I’d already done thus a waste of $5 but I knew I’d owe the $5. The kicker is I was billed on my cc another $48 for absolutely NOTHING. My cc will charge the $48 back to AskTech but advised another $48 was pending to be charged next bill and told me I need to call AskTech. I called the number provided; the phone was immedately answered “we don’t recognized this number”, provide a telephone number associated with the account. I wasn’t about to give my telephone number to these scammers; they’ve done plenty without me acknowledging their existence. Once the government reopens I am writing to ‘report fraud.ftc.gov’. I recommend all victims notify these scams to the Federal Trade Commission fraud department.

Not a reliable source of information or help

Consistent with the experience of those who have posted before me, JustAnswer aka JustAsk misrepresented what is was offering. It secured from me an agreed-upon $5 charge, then billed my AmEx $40 for a renewing monthly fee. I did not agree to any monthly fee. When I called its customer service, a non-human correspondent advised that it would void the $40 charge - apparently knowing the process was not fully transparent.

'Just Ask' is a scammer

'Just Ask' is a Califonia, US based company that is a scam!!
Wanted to ask 1 question about my car and was quoted £5 for 3 days but they subscribed me, immidiately for a monthly £28 contract. Fortunately, I use PayPal and received a notification of the payment. This unauthorised payment was taken during the £5, 3-day period. What a shameful SCAM!
Fortunately, I got my refund through PayPal.
The mechanic I messaged was good in his advice but the platform is NOT!.
