Loreal Hair Serum stinks

I contacted customer service re- the Loreal Hair serum I bought. After opening and trying the hair serum, it smells really bad (stinks).I expected it to be sticky and more concentrated but it was very watery. Unfortunately, after sending the serial code to them as I was told, I was informed that they cannot give a refund since the item was already opened.
