I had an issue with some USDC reported as $0 cost basis. I tried for hours to track it down and fix it but could not figure it out. I contacted support and within 24 hrs their AI had found the problem and corrected it. Part of it was related to time stamps. The AI also found and attempt by me to modify a transaction, which I did incorrectly, so it corrected that as well. Pretty amazing.

Navigating the world of crypto tax in the UK can feel like a minefield, but Koinly has truly been a lifesaver. As a UK crypto investor, the specific rules set by HMRC—like the Share Pooling method, same-day rule, and bed-and-breakfasting rules—can be incredibly complex to manage manually. Koinly takes all the stress out of it.
From the moment I connected my wallets and exchanges, the platform's ability to automatically sync transactions was a game-changer. It accurately pulls in all my trading history, including DeFi, staking rewards, and NFTs, and correctly identifies transfers between my own wallets. This is a huge time-saver and drastically reduces the risk of human error.
What I appreciate most is how Koinly handles the UK's unique tax requirements. It automatically applies the correct cost-basis method and provides an HMRC-compliant report that's easy to understand. The report provides a clear breakdown of my capital gains and losses, as well as any income from crypto, so I know exactly what to declare on my Self Assessment tax return.
The user interface is intuitive, and the dashboard gives a real-time view of my portfolio's performance and tax liability. It even helps with tax-loss harvesting by showing me where I can offset gains.
For anyone in the UK who has ever dreaded tax season because of their crypto activity, Koinly is the solution. It's accurate, reliable, and gives me the confidence to file my taxes correctly and confidently. I can't recommend it enough.

Couple things:
1. Seamless, intuitive and straightforward to go from go to wowe. Setting up was a breeze, and each of the things I’ve needed to do. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
2. Basics / obligatory items done brilliantly e.g. tax reporting.
3. It’s become my new portfolio management tool. Soooo much more than point 2. This thing allows me to view all our Crypto from every angle - regardless of actual wallet. Aggregating by coin - across wallets, etc is the business!! This thing’s the real deal! And you don’t even have to pay for that functionality…only when you want / need to do the (point 2.) tax reporting.
4. Handy as for SMSF!!! Something I had been stressing about, just became a whole lot easier and the stress just melted away.

Easy process and hassle-free crypto tax filing.

Easy and swift

I’ve tried to do my crypto taxes by myself but ended up with a headache. Koinly was super easy to use, and sped up the whole process x10000!

I’ve used Koinly now for 4 years for my crypto tax calculations and it’s easy and reasonably priced. I would certainly recommend it.

Great reporting experience in getting my tax report done.

But not facility to clear or mark those worthless meme coins received which no price can be found nor I can be used sold remove due to time consuming like Korean coins airdropped. With realistically and fairly not to be counted in, is reasonable. But still count as transaction in the package and could be a sticking point. To which we'll never have the use of those coins for (ie. HKT, IUT, EUT, IDT, MNT..). Annoying.

Very clever software, they don't tend to break it which is crucial, uptime is excellent. It does the basics right and gives you transparent accounting with plenty of control, so you can do things the way you want to. When I did find an actual accounting bug a few years ago, they were quickly on it, discussed with me and got it fixed promptly.

It was the only tool I could find, that would properly and easily integrate with (I think) BNB defi tokens, defi mining and staking. It was able to create properly the required transaction pairs.
nowadays, I don't use BNB defi anymore, but Koinly remains my one stop before doing my german taxes, and each year it gets easier and less tedious by adding one click sync integrations.

I would easily give this a 5 stars if the app worked. I was very impressed how I can link all my wallets and accounts then it’s able to recognize which transactions are just transfers and which are buy/sells. It also it’s very explicit on which lots are long and short term. I’ve used other apps where if I transfer between wallets it will treat it as a sell and readjust my cost basis. Keep up the good work!
