I purchased the new version and I have to say it’s a massive improvement of the old one

It's a great idea.
Throws fairly well.
Fits in a coat pocket.
Doesn't hold a ball as well as a chuckit.
Need to use a kind of ice cream scoop rotation, then keep the scoop ball face up until you through.

Easy to carry in my dog walking bag. I can't throw the ball far on my own, I'm a bad thrower and have a bad elbow - so the dogs love that now they can actually get a good run.

I was very disappointed with this product. Firstly, it wouldn’t hold a standard tennis ball, which kept falling out when I tried to throw the ball. Secondly, because it would hold a ball neither would it pick it up from the floor. Thirdly, it kept collapsing when I tried to push down on the ball to try and pick it up. In all aspects it failed to perform as expected. It will be returned.

Item arrived as promised and tried it today for the first time. The balls seem a lot looser in the fixture than our other launchers but when throwing it can launch the ball a good distance.

Purchased a retractable ball chucker, item arrived next day and fits into my pocket. Seems robust enough. Great service from Kompact9.

Excellent product idea - lightweight but strong and an excellent speedy service

Mia loves this and keeps her occupied for ages running after the ball that is flung much further. The whole ordering and delivery process was quick and easy

Like the product and the little bag to put the ball and launcher in but disappointed that the handle doesn’t stay closed as the slide process is loose.

Very impressed with this product, love that it fits neatly in my pocket, has a bag to cover a slobbery ball and is so easy to use. With “ normal “ ball thrower my success was hit and miss, often straining my arm in the process. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is that I found that a lot of tennis balls are slightly loose in the cup and will fall out, so needs a different technique to throw. All in all I highly recommend this ball thrower.

Expensive but, faster than a speeding bullet on delivery, despite Covid-19.

Where has this been all my life? We live in the Welsh countryside with our two dogs, and one of them can fetch a ball for hours. I’m really impressed by how sturdy the ball thrower is, and also how easy it is to stowaway - with a handy bag for those muddy occasions to keep my pocket clean. I can’t recommend it enough, a really clever design and worth every penny!

Been looking for a while for retractable ball thrower for a while so this looked ideal. Unfortunately on the first use it cracked and I threw the ball and part of the thrower went with it. I taped up the crack but on its second use it cracked in another place rendering it useless. Very disappointed.
UPDATE.
After posting the above I was contacted by the company who apologised for my experience and offered me their updated thrower which I received recently. I have used this a few times now and it has fared much better, it retracts nicely and works really well. Very impressive customer service.

Kompact9 is great to use saves my arm aching and dog not running so far,
The retraction sometime gets stuck and I have to be gentle with it, a friend who recommended the item has had her Kompact9 break in a couple of places, so need to put some grease for easy running. Up till now it is great and my dog loves it.

I love this dog aid. It fits perfectly in my bag and is easy to carry around. The pouch for the "soggy" ball is a clever idea. Saves everything else getting covered with dog slobber.
My only criticism is that it could do with some sort of lock. It does stay in position when I'm using it but doesn't stay closed when not in use. I would recommend this product.
