Kaiser permanente is very deceptive in…
Kaiser permanente is very deceptive in their billing practices, they force us to pay effortlessly but when they fail to acknowledge our payments, we have to use an old out dated and laborious way, write a letter, print out proof of payment, though it’s direct debited and write a handwritten or typed posted letter, with proof of payment.
Also, they don’t issue cards without reminders have a hopeless customer service line and altogether do not disclose payment information regularly or via email notifications.
Finally they send me a bill for 1800 dollars and say I didn’t pay any premium.
I searched and I know I paid my premiums diligently , and all I get is ; we are going through your submitted complaint but if I need to correct it, it’s cumbersome.
Worst experience and very out dated when we are in this right side and very forceful with threatening wording when they need a payment, even if it’s direct debit.
I have to go through a long process and incur additional postage charges to prove myself and that I paid my premiums diligently.
Please just choose Anthem, my mistake I always love how user friendly Anthem is. They resolve issues quickly and we get to talk to competent service representatives who help .
This is sorely lacking in Kaiser.
Who wants surprise expenses and to read that they have taken the money but not accounted for it with insane billing breakdowns, in addition to the adjusted insurance premiums, that are insane . Do we get immediate support?
No ! We are told to post proof to an address and unfortunately that’s all that can be done to prove we paid our deductible.
Hopeless all around! I can only imagine how actual coverage may fail to protect me and I will go to Anthem, as my dental and vision have been smooth sailing for a decade now. No hiccups no issues whatsoever and I regret I chose Kaiser at all .
Kaiser really takes us around the bend and doesn’t have any customer/ member friendly and direct resolution options.
Kaiser is the worst of the worst
Kaiser is the worst of the worst! Avoid stall and delay killing thousands. Mental health is a JOKE! Yashadora Rao and Daniel Woody are laughable clowns complicit in stealing your money and sitting on their fat butts doing zero! You've been warned avoid KP ask them why most of their staff is striking ? Why did they just pay $30 million to the feds for denying mental health care? KP is a JOKE you can do better anywhere. Dump KP now make them accountable.
The worst heath care company in the US!
There are definitely some good doctors and nurses in the Kaiser system, but Kaiser as a whole cares far more about money and cutting corners to maximize their profits than they do about patient safety and health. I have had 3 major surgeries in the past 9 months (one planned, one emergency, and one to correct issues from the emergency surgery). Kaiser was used in 2 of the 3 surgeries and I had horrible experiences both of these times with being pushed out, while I was clearly experiencing medical issues from the procedures. They truly care more about maximizing their profits by making surgeries "outpatient" than they do about patient care. I am changing from Kaiser in the next few months once open enrollment is here, and I can hardly wait. This company is a greed fueled behemoth.
If I could put 0 stars
If I could put 0 stars, I would. A nightmare really! I have been having health issues since the covid vaccine I was obligated to get for immigration (beginning of 2024) or I was facing lifetime deportation even while married to an US citizen. I had covid before that and knew how to cure myself in less than 24 hours. I knew how to get rid of ALL symptoms quickly and naturally! After getting the shot and had health issues I went to Kaiser (I have insurance there...so paying amounts of money and never need it even because I was healthy before that shot!). After the shot it became a nightmare and had testing there done. Doctors are in deny totally! Telling me it is not related or not mentioning anything about it, when I actually started a cascade of side effects 3 days after the shot and still struggling with some today over two years later! Tests after tests. Only natural medicine (naturopathy and homeopathy) is capable to help me out. And when I have to do testing with Kaiser, their website doesn't work to be able to get the results. And it is a nightmare to get someone on the phone to help! But of course, sending bills (I still had to pay thousands of dollars for testing), they know where to send them!
Horrible care
I’d like to give no stars-
1. Excessive waits if you call on phone plan on 25min
2.Drs call out a lot I’m on my 4 th apptcanceled
3 if you need cataract surgery - many hoops to jump thru then wait 4 months
4. If you have medication problems- they only prescribe approved formulary meds- not for medical reasons or because they care what is best for you -even in generic form they won’t prescribe it. Even if you are okay paying for it- they say no.
Don’t boing Kaiser I get worse care there than my dog does at the vet. It’s an overloaded healthcare model and they need to close them down.
I will be changing at open enrollment
rude security
Kaiser really need to better train their security guards. I took my dad to the ER because of a very bad virus, however the ER was very busy so my mom had to wait in the lobby. Around 8am on 2/1/2026 the security working at that time told my mom that she couldn't stay in the lobby. He was very rude and my mom didn't speak English. I tried talking to him on the phone but the security guard didn't even bother talking to me. There's no rule that says a patients family cannot wait in the lobby. The absurd part is there was many other people and the guard decided he wants to pick on my mom who didn't speak English. She wasn't lying down or disturbing anyone.
They are the BEST- Date of experience Jan 21,2026 & Everytime I go to Kaiser Permanente
They are professional and caring they follow up with you on status as needed. They're very thorough in my care.

It the worse insurance I have ever had
It is the worse insurance I have ever had. My son desperately needed to see a neurologist but they would not refer us out to see his previous neurologist even though they can not provide his care. They are under staffed, you experience long waits for every appointment, the pharmacy looks like the dmv. My son is supposed to see a speech therapist every week and only sees one once a month if that because of low staff. My experience with them has left me in tears often because they give you the run around. I cant wait to change insurances. If you have other options run from this option.
Con Artists
I could go on and on about how terrible Kaiser is, but to sum up the two worst outcomes (I'll leave out the moderate ones):
-They did not remove the placenta after my son was born and my body went into shock.
-They performed knee surgery on my MIL without her fully understanding the procedure. It's been 6 months, and the quality of her life has declined. Did not make sure she attended the "mandatory" class.
Upgrade your insurance and go with Hoag. I feel terrible for my Mother n law to see her suffer so much. Kaiser lacks care, empathy, and are clearly in it for money.
The best of care
The best of care. The best at paying attention. I’ve been all over the nation and they are the best

THE ER DOES NOT WORK HOW IT SHOULD BE BECAUSE ITS EMERGENCY AND THERES NOT ENOUGH ROOMS TO SEE THE PATIENT!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SHITTY SERVICE!!! HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM THREE TIMES!!!! MORE THAN 4 HOUR WAITING TIME!!!!!!!
Terrible getting coerced medication…
Terrible getting coerced medication with health risk to curb other benefits sure kaiser is great when it works for the md retarded doctor never for the clients health only their emotional behavior go with any other company these people aren't worth the affordable small copay for meds I do like that perk but it isn't worth double my average chest pain especially if I die 10 years from now untreated properly while clenching my ribcage yeah more than 80% of these md doctors are low paid uncaring completely biased assholes but let them figure their elitism towards my client level headed respect & request within emotional trauma change with my negligent dad egging the doctor on defending him while my health is deteriorating being denied since all these low life untrained professionals that lie about professionalism I asked the front desk to change doctor since he won't change dose prescription nope can't do that request online & no you can't call the front desk yet you seem fine yeah in the afternoon it happens late at night or early morning labored breathing asleep & waking up loser nincompoops all they desire with that scrubby wash mop appearance or should we speak on half the obese administration at the desk instead which is better? despite their dietitian chart etc telling us cut this from your diet yeah thanks I figured that out a week ago when he said salt & I myself brought up answered saturated fat increased intake & cholesterol but fine a second opinion being answered four times the exact same reply rather than taking consideration never hurts & deceitful unsafe yet positive elder less risk feedback! ^^
G O JOHNSON MD Doctor of the Year
My Doctor from G O JOHNSON MD, at the Camp Springs Branch is the best doctor that have ever had in my life. He explains, he researches, he takes his time and responds to messages. He does a lot more but I am so excited to have someone that cares about his patiences and not brush them off. He is more than a doctor he is a friend. My husband and I are so pleased with his professionalism and general concern for all his patients. Kaiser give this Man Doctor of the Year Award.
G O JOHNSON MD
Terrible organization
My wife went in to get some labs done, she was a Kaiser patient at the time, and provided a list of required labs. Dr O at Centerpoint Aurora Co, and her assistant did not review the list and didn’t order all the labs, now we’re having to reschedule the out of state medical procedure.. air fare, hotel, time off work… all gone no refunds. The doctor told my wife it was her responsibility to confirm correct labs were ordered. What a joke. Friendly reminder, there is no qualified immunity in Colorado and this isn’t medical malpractice that would require an arbitration. See you in court
Completely pathetic!
Everything about Kaiser is bad: rates, coverage, website, providers. Artificial Idiot and natural stupidity for customer service. Took 2 hours to pay last premium.
Kp good medical services, but poor website for Payonline
I would give KP high marks for their health services, at least for me, as I have had great service....doctors are easy to send messages to, it is easy to get appointments, if needed you are given tests and referred to other departments easily and usually quickly. Good quality medical services.
Now for the low 2 STAR mark, and only 2 stars since the reps were so helpful over the phone!
However the new billing system on Kp payonline is a joke! It is hard to log in at times, to get a new password, I had to call 3 times before a rep for them could get me logged in to payonline!! Kp Payonline portal kept refusing new passwords as too long that were 16-18 units long, when they said up to 20 units were allowed, several times it refused temporary passwords from the rep sent to me, and it couldn't recognize my email if it wasn't capitalized!!! It took me over an hour to recover a username and password, and finally get logged in to KP Payonline, so I could change my payment method! The third rep finally figured out what the portal was doing and was able to assist me in getting in with a new password! Ridiculous!!! A waste of time!!
If I didn't like and appreciate my care team, I would think about leaving KP after this nightmare!
There should be a direct link, maybe with 2 factor authorization, directly from your kp.org log in site to this Payonline site! It is time for KP to upgrade their websites to USER FRIENDLY!!!!
Kaiser Senior Advantage
I have been with Kaiser Permanente Glendale, CA for 25 years, my doctor has been Dr. Berta Keinle. She has been wonderful, i could not have asked for better care. She is retiring this month and I am going to miss her something terrible. Wishing her a fabulous retirement. Kaiser overall has been 5 star care. I am pro-active in my and my husbands care so that helps, you should always be your own health advocate. I recommend Kaiser Senior Advantage to every senior, they care.

Im only giving it one star bc i have to. It really should be 0. I have pots and eds and cvs my doctors originally refused to diagnose me with any of that poor communication, poor understanding of their patients they don’t care about their patients at all when I was getting tested for pots they told me I have pots like symptoms and treat myself like I have it but I don’t actually have it just to get diagnosed with it by a different provider couple days ago. They don’t listen to you if you come to them with the concerns they assume that you just want the condition and not treatment for the condition they don’t treat you. They put a bandage on it and say go home I’ve known people who have broken a knee and their doctor said no it wasn’t broken so they had to get a second opinion and it was broken Broken as our healthcare system

I had a disappointing experience with Kaiser Optometry. After being told on Oct 27 that new 30-day multifocal trial lenses were being ordered, I received no follow-up at all. When I tried to contact the provider, the chat thread was deactivated, leaving me with no way to get updates or continue my care. Very poor communication and follow-through.
