Elie Seroussi was born in Paris in 1958. Growing up in the center or Paris he developed a strong taste for fashion and craftsmanship. He opened his first fashion house, CECILE & JEANNE, in his late twenties, and built it into the well known brand it is today, with 10 boutiques in the prime Paris locations.

Elie raised his three children between the family ranch in Burgundy and the atelier in Paris. His oldest daughter, Natacha, took a keen interest in his work at a young age and showed a strong passion for fashion, the arts, and nature. After completing her studies of the arts Natacha naturally partnered up with her forever mentor and biggest supporter; Elie.

Together Elie and Natacha decided to do things differently. They wanted to create a brand that would combine the essence of who they are and what they believe in. Their products needed to be chic, elegant and modern… as well as environmentally friendly, vegan, and sustainable. They set off to design their first product - bobobark was born.

just don't do it

I got this bag as a gift. Within a couple of years the clasp broke off. Because of the design, it's not easy to fix and the bag isn't really usable without it. I reached out to customer service and they said to submit a repair request. I did that (though there's not actually a repair request option) and they said they no longer do repairs, but I could "trade in" the bag i.e. buy a new one.

For a $300 bag, I would expect the company to have better quality products and to stand behind them. The cork material also got very cracked very quickly. I have many many thrift store bags that are much sturdier than this thing. Don't be fooled by the fake prestige of a French product - it's still poorly made.

Beautiful bag made in South Carolina

I ordered a bag from them. First of all, it's a gorgeous purse. I've gotten compliments on it. I liked the French styling design, the pockets, and, most importantly, that it didn't use animal products. It has a sophisticated design that uses cork not leather and many useful, well-placed interior pockets. It's a little expensive, but is truly an adorable bag.

My cons. The purse may be designed in France, but is manufactured in South Carolina. It's a little misleading. You think you're buying a "French" bag and paying a little more money for an authentic French bag, but it's made here in the US.

I was also disappointed in the overall quality. Within 2 months after I bought it, the material starting wearing off of one corner and the seams started to separate near the top.

Customer service was very responsive. They offered to send a replacement bag to me and even let me order a different one, giving me credit for the price difference.

The new bag is beautiful too, but I'm nervous about the quality. I'm just not sure it's worth the money.

I love the repair kit

I love the repair kit. I have an original Bebebark & I lost an ”o” ring. I was delighted to be introduced to the repair kit. It has everything you need to repair every once. It’s the best!

I really want to love this bag

I really want to love this bag, the laptop sleeve, and the wallet. I really do. But EVERYTHING about each of them is just slightly too small. The card sleeve in the wallet- give me 1/8 more room. Instead I struggle pulling out what I need every time. The laptop sleeve, SHOULD fit my MacBook. Again, another 1/8 would be perfection. Bobo Bark, so many compliments while I was traveling. Again, the compartments need a tiny bit more room to make the bag perfect. I’m not sure why the team thinks a compression bag is a good idea, I can barely fit a celcius, my charger, and wallet in the bag. The zippers also need some oiling or rethinking. The zipper in the wallet kept getting pinched by the closure/clasp.

The return process takes much too long

The return process takes much too long: it takes too long for a response from the team to come through, it takes too long to receive the shipment info to return the item, and processing the item to confirm the return takes too long. It's suspicious, even, because of how LaFlore claims to have an easy return process. Given how communicative I've been and how long things have taken, I took to the Internet to see if other customers had similar experiences. They have. Unless things turn around quickly and I get a notable discount on another item, I won't be purchasing again and will be warning others not to risk purchasing. The bag came in terrible condition, but I wouldve overlooked that if the customer service or return process were better. I gave two stars because- when someone finally gets back to me- they are kind and professional in the email. That's the only benefit

Underwhelmed

I'm wholly underwhelmed after this experience. The marketing for this company is deceptive as they make you believe you're buying artisanal goods made in France, when they are actually made in China. If you need to return something, you do not get a full refund and end up losing about 15% of the amount you paid. Furthermore, the dimensions listed for the product I purchased were inaccurate and the stitching was already coming out on part of the item (hence the return). I ended up buying one of their bags second hand and was glad I did as they're decent pieces, but not worth the full price.

Design is cool - coloring, meh

I really appreciate the design of the bag and how functional it is! I was a little disappointed in some irregularities in the cork. for example, on the straps there are the shoulder pads and they were "stuck" to the straps. When I separated them, there were spaces where the dye did not cover. Extra dye was out of stock when I bought my bag and am hoping the blue is available again soon so I can address teh faded/light spots.

Love Laflore, be cautious with laptop sleeve

Overall I love my bobobark and my doquintin. The laptop sleeve does not fit in the doquintin. Also, watch the size. I did not read the specs and a laptop that fits in the bags may not fit into the sleeve.

I love the products, but improvements could be made

I love the products. The bag is beautiful and the navy cork leather is "chefs kiss" and seems very durable. My bag arrived with a broken key fob, Additionally, I am disappointed that you cannot use the backpack straps and the luggage straps at the same time. I ordered this as travel back, and I see this as a design fail. As a traveller I don't want. to have tor remove the straps and add them back on every time I take the bag off my luggage.

Toto 99% positive

I love LaFlore and have several of the handbags. Toto is no exception. Its beautiful and unique. Fair warning to those who plan to travel with it, the bag itself is on the heavy side so it gets heavy very quickly once your laptop and other office stuff gets in there. just something too think about if you plan to travel with it by plane a lot. I am going to use it as my briefcase locally and not use it as my overnighter. Still love it and wouldn't change a thing.
