You paid for an article we did not actually have in stock, which means the stock on our website was wrong. That is the part we are fixing, and it is the most common complaint we get. If the order is still open, write to info@latiendadelapicultor.com with the order number and we'll give you either a real date or a refund for that line.

Dropshipper posing as beekeeping specialist, avoid

Two orders held hostage by a dropshipping outfit, avoid

This is the SECOND consecutive order La Tienda del Apicultor has taken payment for, then held hostage over items they advertised as in stock but never actually had. Not a one off. A pattern. And the pattern fits one thing: dropshipping.

The receipts:

Order 1, March 2026: Ref XMLUJCWMF, €234.10. ANEL item listed available. Paid. Order frozen. Item quietly pulled from site afterwards.

Order 2, April 2026: Ref 7FP57450AX265452G, €456.86. SAME ANEL item (AN2610N). SAME false stock listing. SAME tactic, payment taken, entire order held, item disappears from site days later.

And when the partial order finally did arrive, the quality control was non existent:

One ANEL clear plastic feeder arrived cracked, unusable.

The ANEL door fixtures sent did not match the base they shipped, making the entrance unit effectively unusable out of the box.

So not only do they list stock they do not have, when they do ship, they ship damaged goods and mismatched parts. Nobody at their end is checking what goes in the box. That is not a beekeeping specialist. That is a warehouse picker who has never opened a hive.

How they operate:

They take your money up front. They hold the ENTIRE order, including the items they do have, over a single out of stock line they should never have listed. They refuse partial dispatch. They refuse refunds on the available items. They make YOU chase, week after week, while your money sits in their account and your season slips away.

This is classic dropshipping behaviour. They do not hold the stock. They list it, take your money, then try to source it from the actual manufacturer (in this case ANEL in Greece) after the fact. When the manufacturer cannot supply, you get silence. Your money funds their cashflow while you wait.

When you escalate, you get Celeste Soriano on Zendesk (tickets 189876 and 192957) giving holding replies that go nowhere. When you push harder, they go completely silent.

What I had to do:

Open PayPal dispute PP-R-ASA-625461792 (€283.69 contested).

Issue a formal final deadline (25 April 2026) for a €100 goodwill voucher, a modest ask given this is the second identical incident plus the damaged and mismatched items.

Receive zero response.

Escalate simultaneously to OMIC, Junta Arbitral de Consumo, ECC-Net (cross border EU consumer enforcement), and notify ANEL Hellas directly that their Iberian "distributor" is actively damaging their brand.

Why this matters if you are a beekeeper:

Swarm season does not wait. Queens do not wait. A colony that needs equipment THIS week cannot accept it in six weeks after a PayPal case closes, and certainly cannot use a cracked feeder or a door that does not fit its base. A dropshipper sitting on your money during the peak Iberian nectar flow (late April to mid June) is not a supplier, they are an active threat to your apiary.

Buy from people who actually hold stock and check it:

Casa do Apicultor (Arganil, Portugal), casadoapicultor.com, real warehouse, ships in 48 hours.

Lyson, lyson.eu, direct from the factory in Poland, full hive systems, honest stock levels.

ANEL Hellas direct, anel.gr, for ANEL spare parts, no middleman games.

Bottom line:

Two consecutive orders. Phantom stock. A cracked feeder. Wrong door fixtures. Total silence when challenged. That is not bad luck, it is the entire business model: a dropshipping operation dressed up as a specialist beekeeping retailer. La Tienda del Apicultor has shown me twice now exactly what they are. Believe them the first time. Do not give them your season, your money, or your trust.

Avoid.

Promised 48 hours, delivered in 72: you are right, and the fix is on our side. Either we meet 48 or we stop publishing it. We are reviewing the delivery times shown on the site so they match what actually happens. If anything else went wrong with that order, write to info@latiendadelapicultor.com.
