Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 22 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant disappointment with the quality of the products, noting issues such as cushions losing shape, fabric pilling and fading prematurely, and leather cracking or peeling within a short period. Reviewers also felt that the pricing was too high for the quality received, often describing the furniture as "junk" despite its cost. The warranty process was a major source of frustration, with many reporting difficulties in getting repairs or replacements, and some even being told their issues were not covered despite paying for extended warranties. Some people were also dissatisfied with the service, experiencing long waits for repairs, unhelpful responses, and problems with incorrect orders or designs that clashed with their existing furniture.

I lived in Connecticut

I lived in Florida. I bought 2 sofas and a chair from Lazy Boy. Last yeat, 2021 ordered a love seat and sofa. The quality is not the same. I waited 6 months for delivery. When the Items were delivered I didnt notice a seperation between the 2 sections of the sofa. The repair man showed up. His coments made me feel stupid. He said all you have to do is connect the 2 units. How would I know? I called the store and asked about a fabric care kit. I was told that would be another $45.00. L:ast month My electric recliner love seat is not lifting the foot or leg part. I called for service in Aoril. Someone called back and told me a service tech would be in the area in mid july.
Bad service, long waits and inferriar product. It spells a bad product. I shopuld have went to Bobs, half the money and decent product.

Broken furniture delivered to my…

Broken furniture delivered to my parents whom are in their 70s and whom waited 6 months for it. This company will not pick it up and refund them. They expect them to go pick something else out and wait another 6 months. Someone at this house is going to get hurt on this furniture and there will be even bigger problems for this company. $6000 living room set and its literally JUNK. The whole frame is broke on the back the delivery guy did it bringing in the furniture then also ripped the fabric trying to jam it in place with a screw driver. How can they treat seniors like this? Every time they call to resolve this they are offered ridiculous options like keep the broken sofa and come pick out new furniture that will take 6 months to come in. They gave their old furniture away and have nothing but a broken sofa in their living room. They need to work with a company that can get them something not only faster but not broke. The customer service was probably the most horrific I ever seen from the sales rep Stephen to corporate

We are long-term/repeat customers and…

We are long-term/repeat customers and our recommendation is to stay away from the "new" Lazy Boy team that seemingly care nothing all about customer support. We ordered new furniture back in August 2021 and after a number of delays they made their delivery on 19 April 2022; unfortunately the delivery team could not assemble the furniture because of broken pieces and misaligned feet and connecting brackets. They did send a delivery team representative out to address the problems again but they concluded they could not fix the furniture and that it would require help/assistance from a factory representative to figure out a way ahead. We are now more than 9.5K in the hole on this deal and the local O'Fallon IL store can't provide any answers other than we'll just have to wait a bit longer to see what, if anything, they might be able to do. In the meantime we have a room full of unusable furniture and the local store simply tells us that the sale was a SPECIAL order and is final! While I can understand the delay in delivery (given the state of our country) the quick brush-off on the part of the local store without providing any definitive answers is asinine. Stay away from these people.

I think 1/2 star would be more appropriate. We ordered our couch on May 17, 2021. It was delivered March 31, 2022. I called every few months and was told "middle of next month" every month! Absurd. Will never order from them again.

I purchased a very very expensive recliner from lazy boy. I was very happy with it and it’s motorized. I had a problem with the foot rest it would open but was lopsided. I phoned lazy boy in Sarasota FL in January 2022 and had to wait 3 months for the repair man to come over. He came over said it was broke charged me 85 dollars said he will order the part! He said another 3 months to get it and fix it! I called lazy boy and asked if they had someone else they said no. I’m handicap have leg issues now I’m stuck waiting another 3 months. Never again i will go out by a cheaper chair throw it out when it breaks! I thought lazy boy was more reputable I’m very upset 6 months total to repair my chair!

Purchases Made from Lazy Boy

I purchased furniture, last March, from Lazy Boy. I received a statement, in November, saying my balance had been paid in full and I received a refund check because of some disputes over what I had purchased. Now, this March, I receive a notice saying I still owe $1504 to be paid by April 2 or interest charges will be added. The purchase was interest free for a year. Which to my calculations, should have been this March but now my payment due date is April 2. I will not be charged all of the interest if I make the payment by then. I think it is clear what is going on here. I have many family members, who are lawyers, and one of them has pledged to take this on for me and at no cost to me. I would be forced to pay this bill, to protect my credit, if I didn’t have someone to help me at no charge.
I wish everyone, who had dealt with Lazy Boy, had this resource available to them. I should have read the business reviews before dealing with lazy Boy. It just didn’t occur to me to do that because I thought Lazy Boy was a fine furniture company. I, now, have read these reviews and I really wish I had done that before my purchase. I have been told it is because the furniture was delivered at two separate times. The couch was not delivered until November. I paid my last bill in November and if the $1504 is a separate charge why am I not getting a bill until March four months after that delivery was made. This is exactly the amount that was disputed. From the reviews, I know that many people have experienced a multitude of problems with this company. You can read the reviews for yourselves. A common excuse I saw many times was Covid. I can certainly understand that when the review was about timely deliveries but not for any other reason. My husband, of fifty two years, recently passed away from Covid and I find it particularly offensive to hear this. I have written this review from my husband’s account because I do not have one.

Poor Customer Service

On Aug. 29, 2021my wife and I went to Lazyboy Furniture Gallery in Lakeland FL. We ordered over $10,000 worth of custom furniture. Sharon, our sales persson told us tha there could be a 4 - 6 month wait or longer for our furniture. Sharon also said our furniture would probably come sooner. Sharon and the store manager, Debbie aredisingenuous, they promise to call you back and they rarely do so. When I last spoke to Sharon I found the the production of our furniture whas do to begin later this month. I wanted to cancel my order because of the way I was treated by Sharon and Debbie. My initial purchase order was not correct and the amended order was $500.00 more. For my $500.00 Lazy boy threw in 4 pillows. I am told that I must take delivery of the furniture weather I want it or not. 1) My first order was not done correctly, 2) My sales persson does not return calls promptly and sometimes, she doesn't return the calls at all! The store manager Debbie, does not return calls promptly and sometimes she doesn't return the calls at all.

All the joy has gone out of this purchase! When I look at my new furniture if I get it I will remember how poorly I was treated by the staff at Lazy Boy!

The sales taticts used by our sales person bordered on lying. Sharon did make us awhere that our order could take 4 - 6 months or longer, however she also said that the orders normally do not take that long. I think that is a vailed lie.

If I really thought that it would take 6 months or longer to get my furniture I would have gone elsewhere.

Do not trust their sales people.

Bought two couches from them about 5 years ago.
Was assured that the units were all aniline leather.
Now the arm is peeling it is obvious they misled us.
I will never buy anything from them and will also recommend that no one I know buy from them.

Colours coming off leather sofas after a few months

A iridescent green colour starting shining through our three, leather light blue sofas. One piece had been repaired in the corner with the same iridescent green colour showing in different areas. There are iridescent green finger marks around the repair and it has pinky tones in other areas. The colour appears to be coming off.
I had a problem with my first La-Z-Boy sofa years ago, the arm had crepitus and was badly scuffed
The retailer was being blamed. This extensive colour variation could not be done outside the Chinese factory.
I notice that there is an annoying squeak in one piece. I suspect the frame isn't up to scratch, my previous La-Z-Boy also had frame crepitus. The pieces is long, with no middle leg.
One thing I don't like is where the sofa and chaise join, there is no leather so you can't use them as stand alone sofas. The price paid would warrant the extra leather!
A claim was lodged with La-Z-Boy on 29/11/21 through VIP Cairns.
Someone was supposed to view the sofa today but didn't come, a week later I called the store and they finally came out and saw the colour variations. Geoff from VIP Carins seemed suprised at the extent of the iridescent green and pink colour variations all over the three pieces of the light blue lounges. He agreed that this was done before construction of the lounges.

29/11/21 - VIP lodged a claim with La-Z-Boy lodged, no claim number supplied, claim rejected.
14/12/21 - La-Z-Boy responded to my complaint on Review site.
27/12/22 - contacted La-Z-Boy on Facebook and was told I would receive an email very soon.
02/01/22 - I received an email from La-Z-Boy requesting more information.
02/01/22 - the requested information was emailed to La-Z-Boy.
10/01/22 - emailed La-Z-Boy asking how the claim was progressing.
10/01/22 - La-Z-Boy replied requesting information.
10/01/22 - La-Z-Boy was supplied w ith the requested information.
12/01/22- VIP advised La-Z-Boy rejected the claim without seeing the sofas. VIP verified the colour problem. The squeaky noise was reported.
We were told there was no La-Z-Boy rep to inspect the sofas, the claim has been rejected, even though the problem has been verified by the supplier, so what happens now?

Angry customer on hold

A delivery date was set when we bought two recliners, after waiting an additional two months, they arrived (10/2020) slightly one year later
one chair has serious frame problems, a repairman came (12/16/2021), he ordered parts that REPAIR, parts were to arrive one week later (12/26/2021)It is now two weeks later. No parts yet and no email or text to let me know why not, although I was told there would be updates.
12/28/2021 I called LAZY BOY was given option of a call back, which they did I was put on hold supposedly to transfer me to repair department where another call back option would happen but did not. After 15 minutes I hung up. I then called back, same nonsense then the call back option. I gave my zip code and phone number. A person did call me back and asked numerous times identifying information then abruptly put me on hold for 30 MINUTES listening to tinnish sounding music, silence would have been much more enjoyable. I became angry hung up and called the store. The only way to get service was to speak to someone who thought I would purchase another piece of furniture, not likely!!! The clerk put me on HOLD, then transferred me to repairs who took all my information for the umpteenth time.... I was told parts would arrive at my home tomorrow. I have to wait until January 13, 2022 for my chair to be repaired....what time remains to be seen..... I'LL GET A CALL BACK!!!

Remarkable Customer Service

Earlier this year, we bought our first sectional from our local La-Z-Boy store. The owner (franchisee) and staff were so helpful and patient with me. The sales rep let me film him pouring a staining liquid onto their patch of fabric, and, of course, it just rolled off, and it made me happy. (I'm a homeschool mom, and science is too fun.) This pandemic has negatively impacted all delivery services, and it's out of the employees control. Imagine having to sell furniture, and then tell the buyer they might be waiting 3 months or more for the shipment to arrive. Regardless of this, their customer service was/is remarkable, I enjoyed the experience, and my family will continue to patronize this business.

Poor mechanical construction.

The overall physical construction of our $4200. recliners is fine, however the power and mechanical features are not. The rocking mechanism is very noisy, sounding like a sick cow, and the grinding of the power components is unsettling. The solution says their repairman, purchase a couple of rubber backed rugs and place them under the chair. Guess what? Didn't work after spending another $100. on the rugs. Called their service dept., NO RETURN CALL. Well, they got paid for the chairs and despite paying for an extended warranty, no solution. Had I been aware of the number of disatisfied buyers for LazyBoy recliners, I would have looked at other manufacturers. We are nearing 80 and don't appreciate being mislead or taken advantage of.

Absolutely no Customer Service when dealing with Lazy Boy. Company name adequately describes their customer service practices--LAZY.aling with Lazy Boy has been…

Dealing with Lazy Boy has been frustrating, time consuming and they are robbers. Paid them $3200 for sofa, chair and footstool which was to be delivered.
Ordered furniture on 10/31/20. It was promised to be delivered in March 2021. Called in March and was told it would take another 5 months. Called in August to see if the furniture was here. Yes it was. On date of delivery two men arrived with furniture. My husband showed them the room the furniture was to be put. Kid started arguing with husband that he could put it there. Kid gave me the option of leaving the sofa where he put it, blocking access to 1/2 of our house or he could return my purchases. My husband tried to work with kids to tell them how it would fit. Kids argued and refused to try. Kids left with furniture. I paid additional money for deliver service. This happened four days ago and Lazy Boy in Sacramento CA is refusing to resolve this matter. I've called on 3 different days and the salesperson Jeff Cable has not even bothered to return my calls. Will never do business with Lazy Boy again aND I have vowed to share this experience with every perspective Lazy Boy customer. I'm now contacting a local TV news company who investigates fraudulent business practices, BBB and the State of California Consumer Affairs.

Laz y boy Recliner

I bought a laz y boy recliner through next online. I was informed there was 10 weeks delivery time which I was prepared to wait for therefore to my delight 2-3 weeks later I had an email from a delivery company informing me that my chair was being delivered the following day.
The chair arrived as promised and to my horror it was very obviously second hand. It had some crumbled polythene draped around it, a crumbled Morrison’s carrier bag containing 4 spare legs! Why?? The old control toggle and somebody else’s order docket dated jan 2020 were included. The plug in for the recliner was absent. There were no instructions, warranty or fire safety tags attached. The wear and tear on the chair was shocking and was not the colour I had ordered,I could not believe what I was seeing and immediately contacted next demanding they remove the chair from my house immediately. I forwarded them all the horrendous photos but didn’t feel satisfied with their £40 goodwill gesture as I wanted answers as to how this had happened. I really wanted that recliner but cannot trust the company to place another order which is a shame as I felt it was extremely comfortable despite not being able to try in recline position.

Very poor quality

I bought 2 sofa's which took ages to arrive. I was very pleased with them at the start they reclined and had moveable headrests. HOWEVER within less than a year the seats began to feel very uncomfortable as the foam was not supporting you when seated. I contacted the shop I bought them from who in turn contacted Lazy Boy. They sent out Homeserve to have a look. Their man, who was no more than 8 stone soaking wet, said it was normal settlement of the foam and he admitted that the foam they used was not as good as it used to be. There does not seem to be any industry standard for testing foam density. He pushed the cushion down with his hand to test it, how is that satisfactory??? I would never pay the extortionate for Lazy Boy ever again. For the price I paid for these 2 sofa's expecting them to last at least 10 years I could have bought cheaper ones every year and not had the same problems. Avoid Lazy Boy !!!!

We've had a la-z-boy for about 4 years

We've had a la-z-boy for about 4 years. Within the first 6 months the seat foam had collapsed, and without stuffing cushions under us it lead to bad backs. Now after 4 years it seems every piece of foam has died, even the arms dig into us. Most sofas last us at least 10 years without problems. This is utter rubbish which we are now replacing.
