It was nice to see the Timanfaya mountains and El Golfo (a good alternative since the camels were unavailable). However, the experience was overshadowed by our guide, Cristina.
She was not professional: she made inappropriate comments about the government's code orange (which is there for a reason), and repeatedly complained about the camels throughout the tour. While she was right to leave when a family showed up late to stay on schedule, the way she communicated this put the entire bus in distress. She was rude, and because of her anger, she started the informative tape inside the park too late, making us miss the beginning.
In contrast, our short Northern tour the next day was much better. That guide was professional and knowledgeable, even sharing info on the drive back.
I emailed LCT about this in April 2025 but never received a response. Seeing that there are still complaints about Cristina’s attitude as recently as December 2025 is disappointing. Great island, but LCT needs to improve their communication and staff management.
I would excerice caution with LCT Tours in Lanzertote. We booked on the volacno tour with the hotel. Late the evening before the tour our daughter caught a vomiting bug and we were unable to attend.
We learnt 24 hours are needed to refund or transfer the booking so we lost €120. I undestand the business case for 24 hours notice but the hotel didnt inform of this and children often dont provide 24 hours notice before being sick!
Overall LCT seem to have forgotten the human element of running a business instead putting T&C before kindness.
So consider all of this before you book.
Noted on your reply to this thread. I would add the hotel is not our sales agent but yours. At no point was the cancellation policy or insurance mentioned. But in any case your consistent 1 star reviews on most platforms speak greater to your business than any commentary I make here….

We left at 10 am from Maspalomas and returned at 6 pm. We spent a lot of time up and down the mountains and it was boring. We visited a couple of nice villages. Lunch paid 15 euros cheap but terrible. The tour leader always spoke in 3 languages, too boring. I don't recommend the tour.
1. 1.5 hours before tour even began
2. Tour guide Christina was beyond rude
3. Tour guide hardly spoke in English, even when requested to
4. Tour guide repeated herself and poorly informed.
5. Tour with same company for different tour following day was cancelled in less than 24 hours.
6. Customer "services" made excuses via WhatsApp for the poor experience, never apologized and failed to offer any reimbursement.
And now I shall expand.
1. I do not want to wake up at 6 am with a teenager on holiday. But that’s what LCT Europe made us do: we were first on their 1-and-a- half-hour pick up point for the passengers at all the other hotel stops. Then we all caught a connection at some hub.
They maximised passenger numbers at the cost of our lie in on holiday.
2. Who does Christina think she is?
She insulted passengers merely asking for places to sit whilst eating their prepared lunch. “I don’t know if you can sit in the restaurant: I don’t own it!” was one response.
Further scolding of tourists who used the bathroom at a spot which was inconvenient to her.
Since she is in charge, then surely she tells us CLEARLY what is the toilet schedule instead of having a 5 minute tirade of “why are you not listening to me?!”
It totally cut the fun from the visit.
3. I hardly understood the tour!
I asked Christina first opportunity if she could include more English as she was switching mostly between Spanish and German.
In a loud, irritable tone, she claimed she was speaking English. None of the other English speaking passengers thought so.
Christina’s English is broken and takes some effort to understand.
She attempted to address my reasonable request by switching on a tape cassette in the coach. It got stuck after 10 seconds.
4. Her knowledge of the cave was abysmal. This was the highlight of the tour.
I was expecting stories, history, wars, light hearted anecdotes. I got lots of repetition some of it plain wrong.
The most obvious question wasn't even answered until I got back to my hotel room. Why is there zilch vegetation on the volcano? Why does it look like another planet.
Pointing at walls with her torch, she pointed out “calcium”
Calcium, my dear, is a shiny , silvery metal which is not naturally occurring.
I think she meant calcium carbonate or limestone or marble. Not ACTUAL calcium.
I was more informed about what we had visited once I returned to some wifi and read Wiki. That’s what I had paid LCT to do.
My daughter and I were so *bored* we fell asleep.
Christina talked incessantly, almost shrieking, but hardly any of it was in English!
5. Whilst on the actual tour, I was sent a message from the same company that the tour I had booked with them the following day had been cancelled due to low passenger numbers!
I had virtually zero wifi and by the time the abysmal tour was finished (5pm) I would be back at the hotel with no time to replace that activity with another.
Christina loudly approached us at the end of the tour as if she was expecting a tip!
6. By this time, I was so mad, I contacted the company whilst on the trip making a complaint. No one picked up the Whatsapp call.
So I had to write my complaint taking a long time. There followed a number of whatsapp messages all of which culminated in a response saying I had to rewrite my complaint in an email!
Why? Surely you know what I’m complaining about without having to repeat myself.
Email sent, at more expenditure of time. No one called. No one came to speak to me. And no one apologised. And no one offered any compensation.
LCT got paid and that’s all they cared about. Not their reputation. But their greed.
All I got was lots of excuses hidden behind a keyboard and a screen and I expect same excuses to be repeated in the reply below
The story changed because the hotel mentioned that LCT had abandoned trip due to weather. Oh really?! Because my weather app forecasted 18C and sun all day.
The ladies at my hotel (Dreams) were so lovely compared to you lot. Shameful tour!
Booked the Northern treasures tour for myself and my 6 year old. The "guide " Andrei was extremely rude to me. His presentation was almost unintelligible due to switching between languages in a bored montone. My 6 years old was very excited and was asking questions, possibly due to the bored presenter. During the first stop ( 1.5hrs into the trip due to doing a tour of the hotels to picking up people ) I was aware my child was chatty and asked him to apologise to anyone around me if we're disruptive due to the questions. He just turned around and told me if I can't control my child I shouldn't be here.
The "tour" was from 0800-1400 hrs . During this time we had 2hrs and 30 minutes maximum at the treasures the rest was on the bus. Very bad experience, would avail immediately of the 24hrs free cancellation if Andrei was the guide for a tour.

They did leave us behind. There seems to be no other way to reply to the company's reply to the other review.
What they have written is not right - they did leave us behind.
Tour guide and bus driver were brilliant and made the tour fun. The volcano and experiments were interesting and learnt a lot about the island.
The reason for not being 5 starts was the camel ride. We paid for the the ride and waited next the our designated camel. Just before getting on the handler swapped us to a different one as we had a 2 year old child and I’m so glad he did as within 2 minutes of being on the camel we were originally next to collapsed and all the others went mad. Luckily one of the handlers saw we had a child and ran and took him out of harms way for us while the others tried to calm them down.
I understand things like this happen but once calmed down they then continued the camel ride up and down the mountain with the same set of distressed camels rather than resting them (we got off and got our money back as well as most of the group but some stayed on). It made me consider if the welfare of these animals was the priority we were led to believe. I think you should look into this before continuing to support this practise of the care isint there for the animals.

Went on the Northern Treasure Tour. When booking we were told that if you were claustrophobic or couldn’t walk then not to go on the tour. Took our children ages 9 and 10. Went to the first cavern and it is a steep walk into the cavern. Taking our time due to the young children and the lack of railings. The rep, Christina, shouted up asking what was the problem and maybe we shouldn’t have booked this tour. Felt it was disgusting. When we got up to the second cavern I struggled for breathe due to the change in air pressure. Christina then went on to “joke” several times that we would need ropes to climb then next part. This scared the children to the point that my 9 year old would not go down to see the albino crabs. Contacted LCT to complain as it was not a cheap tour and was not enjoyable due to the comments made and had no response from them.

A really interesting tour with amazing scenery enhanced by a very funny yet professional and informative tour guide called Erich. Partnered by a fantastic bus driver, Felix, whose driving was amazing.
Our teenage boys really enjoyed the camel ride (definitely worth the extra 11 euros).
Tours can often seem very expensive for what they are but we found this one very good value for money and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to visit this fascinating park without the prospect of queuing in a car for hours.

We did this tour today. It was excellent. The guide Eileen? was very knowledgeable & made the tour for us. Maria the driver of the coach was amazing with her driving skills. We would recommend this tour for fellow travellers.

We visited the Timanfaya National Park, El Golfo Green Lagoon , the Camel camp and then stopped for lunch and then off to a Vineyard. All this for just €39 each. The guide described everything in three languages and the driver Oscar was very friendly and helpful. We actually thought this trip was a half day but was pleasantly surprised that it was a 8.20am pick up and a 3.30pm drop off. A very informative and lovely day trip. Thank you .

It was a fabulous tour. The tour guide was brilliant. She was interesting and had a great sense of fun. The sites were brilliant with about the right amount of time at each place. The food at lunchtime was very good and great value.

The tour was excellent. Erich the guide was very knowledgeable and funny. Long day but worth it to see the volcanos and caves.
Only down side was for the price of the ticket €69 each we felt lunch should have been included and not charged another €11 each.

Great tour kids loved it. Only wish the air con on the bus was a bit cooler and we'd have been given time after the camel ride to look at the shop (we had to run to use the toilets). Otherwise all good. Very short bus ride from Puerto del Carmen.

The Grand Tour was great because it gave an insight into the different areas of Gran Canaria that enabled us to make a choice as to which part we wanted to explore in our own time.
Each stop was no longer than 30 minutes, (apart from the lunch stop), which enabled us to get a quick feel of the different areas.
We liked that lunch at the selected restaurant was optional and that our guide rang on ahead to confirm our food orders prior to arrival so that the restaurant had the food ready and seating arranged based on whether we were travelling solo, as a couple or in a group. For those opting out of the restaurant set up, there was plenty to walk around and eat their own packed lunch/do own thing at lunch time.
Toilet stops were included though better guidance to exact locations would have been preferred.. at one stop, there was quite a lengthy queue for the toilets but luckily we’d found an alternative one. It felt a bit rushed to be queuing for the toilets when we had 30minutes to wander around .. though 30 minutes was otherwise ideal for each stop.
The pick up point at La Palmas was a little ambiguous and we almost missed it had we not seen another passenger from our bus in front of us.
Other than the queue at one of the toilet stops, and the confusion over the pick up point at Las Palmas, the trip itself was great and very much recommended. If you’re scared of heights, probably best not to sit left window side.
The driver and guide, Igario and Carmelo were both fantastic. Thank you
