Great service

First time with Leger. Joe's taxis gr8 Graham was friendly and let us know about stop 24 and how it works .
Feeder coach not so welcoming or giving of info not even his name .
Change over at stop 24 smooth and fast
Chris and Dave amazing on welcome and tbh throughout . First stop at France lovely hotel novotel clean good bfast and welcoming.. travel to calella smooth and relaxing. Hotel Volga for main stay Calella really good had refurbished rm over pool and we had our request of walk in shower ty. Only did 3 trips little more info at destinations would hv been welcoming but not a deal breaker.
Montserrat is a must however my one little recommend would be see if anyone wants to get the cable car up that would of completed my journey up there 😀
Overall I cant have had a better holiday people I met places i seen felt relaxed and Calella a good spot to see beautiful beach and a good walk along park by the sea... highly recommended and if you get either Chris or Dave looking after you then your on a bonus 😉

The fellow travellers were the best…

The fellow travellers were the best group i've ever been with. My coach seat was the worst (no 20) I have travelled on--no legroom,no calf support, very restraining seatbelt. Good thing the drivers Rich & Steph were so good. The main hotel very poor, no facilities in bedroom, the Dining room was more like a factory canteen, dinner menu very poor. I definately expected much more from a Leger Luxuria holiday

Wonders of Pompeii & Rome

Wonders of Pompeii & Rome. 36 hours on the coach is to long, even for experienced drivers. If you have difficulty walking this holiday is not for you. The hotel Verde is on a hill and the driveway down to the front door is very steep. The hotel is cash only & charge €20 for evening meal, there are bars & restaurants within a short walk downhill & the pavements are not good. Fascatti was a waste of day & the wine tasting & lunch was pretty poor. 2 & 1/2 hours to get to Rome each way & 3 hours eachway to Sorento, you can't get on the beach in Sorento as this is charged at €50 pp per day. 2 & 1/2 to get to Pompeii, which was the best day, if you have trouble walking this tour is not for you & the walk ways are all cobbled. The coach drivers made the trip even if they aren't Leger drivers, they belong to another coach company called Ridleys and the coaches are Ridleys.

D-Day landings in Normandy

Ok, the ‘not so good stuff’ first.
The Hotel (Sure by Best Western, Caen) was very disappointing and the reason why I didn’t award 5 stars. It was situated in a large commercial zone/park outside Caen which was only accessible by taxi (no one bothered). The rooms were clean and recently refurbished but lacked basics such as drawers, shelving and useful wall hooks. The open fronted single wardrobe had a total of 3 coat hangers in it so we lived out of suitcases for 4 days. Breakfast was poor in choice and quality and I found the hot offer (weird sausages and liquid scrambled eggs) virtually inedible. The evening food menu was extremely limited as well. Bar and staff friendliness both fine.
Now onto the ‘good stuff’
The tour itself was excellent in all respects and was a great introduction to the D-Day landings. Battlefield guide, Ian Mason was both passionate and knowledgable and imparted a lot of information both verbal and in printed form. He added in one or two extra stops and little surprises. I enjoyed his company so much that I have booked another tour with him (Battlefields of Belgium) for June 2027.
The Luxuria coach was exactly that and it was crewed by married couple Shaun and Rachel who looked after us superbly. Shaun drove and Rachel ensured that there were always hot and cold drinks available at all times on the coach. They and Ian were a truly great team…10/10
We travelled from the north east and found the bussing operation to be very impressive… pretty much run with the precision of a military operation. There was a slight hiccup at Stop 24 on the return journey when it took 90 minutes from arriving there on the tour coach to departing on the feeder coach… not ideal when one is tired with a long way still to go!
The Leger briefing notes stated that seats on feeder coaches were non-allocated (as previous tours we’ve done) but that wasn’t the case this time. Leger should note that most passengers, including ourselves, prefer non-allocated seats on feeder coaches. Why? Because between Scotch Corner and Peterborough, most of us were crammed into the rear third of the coach with the forward two thirds only sparsely populated… and vice versa on the return trip!
All in all, another enjoyable and worthwhile holiday that was very good value for money and very efficiently and professionally run.

Most of all it was our Drivers

Most of all it was our Drivers - Dave & Chris. They were brilliant, looked after us well and always with a joke and smile.
Hotel Kaktus Volga was sparkling clean. Staff were very good. The downside is that you had to pay for water with your evening meal. Never experienced this before in any of the tours we have been on. Always been given water and a glass (mostly a bottle). Had to pay for both. Definitely should not have to pay for water. 😎 xx

What I liked most was the variety of…

What I liked most was the variety of experiences — beautiful scenery, historic towns, coastal views, national parks and excellent excursions — combined with the friendliness of both the brilliant tour staff and fellow travellers.

What I liked least was probably the occasional very early start and long border delays, although I appreciate these were necessary parts of such an ambitious itinerary.

Tour of Portugal and Spain

On our Tour of Spain and Portugal we have seen some great cities with lots of interesting places , a real adventure.
See how other people live their lives is good for everyone. Blake and Dale who drove us to all these cities were very good, helpful, informative and funny at times. They "gelled" well together as it was the first time they did a trip together.
Cabin on board the ship from Plymouth to Santander was amazing.
There are some steep hills on this trip so you have to be able to walk those if you like to see some of the venues on the Itinerary. Coach was very comfortable , drinks served , tv with films which was useful and toilet. Some of the hotels were better/different than others but they were all ok ,
The last day coming back arriving in Dover we got transferred at the Folkestone Services to a normal coach. We then drove to Toddington Services which took us 3 hrs. We could have done with a comfort stop.
Overall a good holiday!!

Staff at hotel friendly room clean and…

Staff at hotel friendly room clean and comfortable it would be helpful if the safe was lower in wardrobe it was on the top only way to access it was to stand on a chair. Hotel not in town at least a 40 min walk or a 20euro taxi ride, did not get a window seat although I asked before booking other passenger next to me had not asked for it. I do not think for a single person plus supplement makes it value for money on this occasion the taxi to Hub very good especially the return trip. I have travelled before with Leger was very happy, crew then were Shaun and his wife to Austria this is why I booked another trip but on this occasion I was a bit disappointed Ideal maybe if travelling in couples

French and Italian Riviera

A modern and clean coach, equipped with comfortable seating and facility's with fantastic a driver / crew pairing. Overnight stops in France are in very nice hotels / location's. the main hotel in Italy was family run and the food and service was to a good standard. the day trips where well organised and enjoyable. The pick up from home to the main coach park (Folkstone)and return journey home are well organised. we would highly recommend Leger Holidays for the overall experience.

Had a fabulous holiday

Had a fabulous holiday. Enjoyed every destination as short as it was ,but was just a taster brake. Drivers were all polite and drove very well, felt relax and looked after. Our main hotel was very clean and food and service you couldn't fault. Would do again.

Although we enjoyed the holiday

Although we enjoyed the holiday, we encountered a few issues. We felt the time spent on the Feeder coach before transfer to the Luxuria coach was far too long approx 6 hours up to Lymm Services (without a comfort break). Once we boarded the Luxuria coach we began to settle into a totally different experience enjoying all the amenities on board.

Ferry crossings good with meal vouchers provided.

Our first hotel was very good with a nice breakfast. Evening meal was a bit hit & miss. Second hotel also very clean.

We felt the time spent at places we were visiting was a bit tight. In other places the time allowed was far too long. You need to look at this Leger. We also had 1 stop missed out completely on our itinerary, without notification.

Corsica and Sardinia with Paul and Lisa

Well that was an experience. This was one of many trips I have made using Leger over the course of many years and I could not fault Paul and Lisa. Paul's driving was exceptional and Lisa was like a mother hen looking out for us all. Most people on the coach were really nice, there were a couple not so friendly which is fine as you can't like everyone. As a solo traveller I get frustrated at how much i have to pay extra as a supplement as I am alone but it is made worse when you are given a single bedded room which can often be hidden away with no view or no balcony which everyone else is entitled to. This i am told is all to do with the hotels not Leger. Leger is a massive company and they should put pressure on these hotels that put single people in inferior quality rooms.
Most hotels along the way were good. The hotel in Corsica was basic but ok. Food was OK but could have been better. The main hotel was in Sardinia and is set on a hillside with nothing around it. My first room was disgusting. I was sent down below reception level to a room that had not been updated in many years. It had a basic bed , a window that had a tree in full leaf so no view of anything. It smelt damp, cold, dark and dingy. The bathroom was horrible with an old medicine cabinet on the wall which someone painted yellow and it had a plastic shower from the 1970's but not in a good way. I went straight to reception to be moved and with alot of discussion I was shown another room which I had to climb upstairs as there was no lift but it was 1000% better. A newly renovated beautiful room, world's apart from the first. It had a terrace aswell with mountain views.
Food was very good , many meals were fish and local dishes from Italy. Could not fault the hotel after they moved me. We did lose our free day in Sardinia due to the crossing from Corsica to Sardinia bring cancelled due to bad weather so we had an extra day in Corsica instead. This trip has 3 days of travel each way so you have to be content sitting for long periods of time with very short toilet breaks. The scenery is beautiful though as you pass through France, Corsica, Sardinia and then Italy and France again.
