Lenses installed wrong, had to return

I received my order quickly but the lenses were installed incorrectly- when I put them on my vision was terrible. I finally realized that the prescription had been flipped (the right lens was installed on the left side and vice versa) so I could see if I wore them upside down. I contacted customer service and they responded quickly but didn't seem to believe my issue, it took a few exchanges before they sent me a shipping label to return the pair. After I mailed them back I did not hear from customer service again. A week later I got a shipping notification and fortunately the "fixed" pair is fine. It would have been nice to get an update or message from customer service on the process or a discount code for future orders. I think this is a great idea for a company and am interested in being a return customer but this experience makes me a little hesitant, even though it ended up fine.

When old becomes new!!

I sent Lensabl a pair of glasses that were almost 20 years old. They were special to me, so I really wanted to revive them. Lensabl worked diligently to put some extremely complicated lenses in the old frames, and sent them back to me BETTER than new! I’m so pleased with the quality of their workmanship. I highly recommend them to anyone. Bravo!!!

Excellent quality and service!

The quality, clarity and thin profile of the lenses are fantastic. I am very picky about my eye where and was a bit skeptical going in, but once I received the glasses along with the case and cleaning kit, I’m sold.

Don’t expect a human to catch an obvious mistake

I ordered my sunglasses to be filled as readers at the bottom. My prescription is only for readers, my long vision is fine. I made the mistake of not choosing progressives, since to my understanding, the top was clear. They filled the order as full readers for my sunglasses. Why would anyone order full reader sunglasses? It’s an understandable mistake, especially if there was a human at the other end to analyze it and call me. But, there are no humans at Lensable, your order goes to a computer not set up to anailize your order. Then your stuck with customer service who’s job it is to say no. You can’t speak to anyone, and who knows whether or not the person on the other end even understands your language. Horrible experience. Maybe we do need artificial intelligence, this group of humans don’t seem use their god given brains very well.

Misinformation and bad customer service

Misinformation, snippy replies from certain customer service agents, not all but some felt very dismissive, was told glasses would be overnighted but they were not. I was told the prescription lenses would be completed while we waited for the glasses to come back in stock which also wasn’t accurate. Glasses are nice done very well, but the customer service needs some improvement.

No Big Complaints

I’ve been using these guys for a number of years. They usually do a great job of getting things right. I only had to have them redo once. I wear progressives and they can be tricky. Don’t be in a hurry to get them though. The process can take a good 3 weeks or longer.

New Frames with Prescriptions Lenses

*This review is for the purchase of new frames with prescription lenses, not their lens replacement program*

The website was simple enough to navigate to purchase new frames and enter my prescription details. Only slight hiccup in ordering was that my payment was being declined for using my personal email address (apparently gmx email addresses are blackisted) - strange because I've used that email address for hundreds of other purchases without any prior issues.

After purchasing, the turnaround time for preparation/ shipment was reasonable ~1 week or so. However, the order tracking features on the website were essentially useless - my order went from "at the lab" to "shipped" with no progress updates in between. Overall no complaints because of the acceptable preparation and shipment time.

My main complaint is that my glasses were shipped only with my prescription lenses and not with the factory tinted lenses. With every purchase I've ever made for sunglasses with prescription lenses, I have been sent the factory lenses in case I wanted they switched back. When I notified customer service of this, I was LIED to and told that they were in some separate compartment of this shipping container/ product box. I completely disassembled all of the packaging I received and there were definitely NO additional lenses shipped out with my glasses. When I notified customer service and requested the factory lenses be shipped out to me, they said they were unable to ship a pair ship a pair of the "demo" factory lenses "since they can be damaged in lens replacement and there's no guarantee the lenses will be sent back since we replaced the lenses with custom lenses". I've never encountered this issue before when purchasing glasses with custom lenses, but feel I was shorted on a purchase and feel that factory lenses should always be included when purchasing any pair of frames.

Overall, purchasing frames through Lensabl is straightforward enough. The shopping experience is simple with a decent turnaround time - I just wouldn't expect to receive factory lenses if you're purchasing frames with a prescription.
