Would rate lower if I could

Would rate lower if I could. Peter is arrogant and will not accept fault with his dodgey builds. The sales process was all empty promises and now we are left with a below-par home with many defects. The company are incredibly good at burying negative reviews and are more focussed on their online reputation than actually building quality. Do not recommend at all.

Poor quality

Building a new home should be an exciting and rewarding experience. Unfortunately, my experience with Leonard Homes was marked by persistent quality control issues and unresolved defects throughout the build.

After Practical Completion, many defects remained unaddressed despite repeated follow-ups. I eventually lodged a complaint with QBCC, which resulted in a formal direction for Leonard Homes to rectify several outstanding issues.

In my opinion, this reflects a concerning lack of accountability and customer care. I found the process stressful and disheartening, and I would personally not recommend building with this company.

This review is based on my direct experience and is intended to inform others who are considering their options. I believe it's in the public interest to share my story so future homeowners can make informed decisions.

Nothing But a Nightmare

Nothing But a Nightmare . Please Avoid the Stress
My family member has gone through nothing short of a nightmare with this builder. The process has been stressful, drawn out, and full of issues that could have been avoided with proper care and accountability.

If you're considering building, do not rely solely on the builder's team. Have weekly site inspections.

If the builder stops responding after the contract is signed, take it as a red flag. A builder who only communicates before the sale is just a salesperson. not a professional committed to delivering your home.

Do your due diligence and protect yourself from the start.Take the time to verify every stage independently. This experience has shown us how important it is to protect yourself upfront.

I Regret Choosing Leonard Homes

Building with Leonard Homes was one of the most stressful experiences our family has faced. We dealt with ongoing delays, miscommunication, and serious issues with build quality that were either ignored or downplayed. We raised concerns early and often, but responses were dismissive or non-existent. Despite our efforts to resolve things fairly, we were left managing problems that should have been handled professionally. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Leonard Homes and would urge people to consider carefully who they trust with their build.

Disappointing Experience

Disappointing Experience Proceed With Caution
I strongly recommend thoroughly reviewing all documents before signing any building contract. Speak to past customers directly and consider appointing your own independent engineer early on and own certifier

Consider negotiating a special condition in the contract for compulsory weekly site access or visits so you're not left in the dark. Go through every detail with a fine tooth comb. Don’t assume anything will be completed to standard without independent verification.

Poor quality control and lack of accountability

We engaged Leonard Homes for a residential build and faced multiple compliance issues throughout. Independent inspectors identified serious defects, including cladding installed contrary to manufacturer specs and engineering plans. The builder has not addressed these problems, and many remain unresolved. Communication has been inconsistent. We’ve had to involve external experts to assess ongoing concerns. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Leonard Homes.
