1 Month & Still No Service - Pointless

Since my employer does not cover mental health, I had to utilize the offered resource: LIfeWorks. I was attempting to utilize their services to help my partner and I learn to communicate and navigate some very difficult times for the benefit of our daughter. Spoke with someone at LifeWorks on September 29 and now it is October 22 and just got off the phone with them. They will tell you to keep calling back in a few days and when you do they will simply tell you that the case is still open. Pointless, frustrating, and ultimately, worthless. Don't waste your time.

I had no choice to use their services…

I had no choice to use their services since my employer hired them. I read the numerous negative reviews before AND after dealing with them. I can attest they are all well deserved. In a time of personal crisis, when you need real help, ASAP, they drag you through incredible delays, all sorts of call transfers, etc. The therapist they had assigned to me even forgot an appointment with me after confusing dates. Between every single human being I have talked/dealt with at LifeWorks, NONE has impressed me with either professionalism, empathy, patience or else. Everything leads to believe this company is in for and only for the money. I have dealt with the previous service provider my employer had hired and it was far more better. This company is a disgrace, especially in a field of supposedly HELPING people. But, what do they care? They make money....

I wish I could give negative stars. Worst experience I have had reaching out for help. Find anywhere else.

I wish I could give negative stars. This place is the absolute worst experience of my life. I feel fortunate I wasn't on the verge of k*lling myself because waiting NINE+ MONTHS for an appointment is BULLSH*T. I made an appointment in February for the earliest appointment I could get which was early June. The person never showed up and I got no notification. So I made another appointment for the soonest possible time which was early September. The person quit the agency and I got no notice from them. I am currently waiting for an appointment in late November (the next earliest appointment I could get). I HOPE THEY SHOW UP. I asked to speak to a supervisor and have sent emails asking about the situation with no response or general/shallow responses "I'm sorry you feel that way" "I'm sorry you had a bad experience" with no explanation or resolution. I HATE THIS PLACE. FIND ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE PLANET IF YOU WANT HELP.

Their support team is useless

Their support team is useless. Bad customer service. Very bad experience with the company. most of them failed their promise. I would like to update my company pension beneficiary info. Unfortunately almost a year past, still not done yet. I definitely do not recommend to do business with lifeworks, especially during this time.

Not worth it

Their support team is rather useless. You can't withdraw the cashback until you have a certain amount. Essentially, you waste your time giving them your data for free.

Thieves with poor customer service

Thieves with poor customer service. They said they would send me my cashback once I have them my details. I have received no funds and no response to at least 4 emails and 2 follow up forms on their website. I am incredibly frustrated that they have my money but cannot be contacted.

Mixed Feelings about the service

My employer has a package of sessions available for each staff member due to the nature of the work we do, but the consultations can be used to sort out personal stuff from marital problems to grieving or other personal issues. One can book the session in advance or use the after-hours service on the spot if necessary. Booking is hassle free and the "reception" staff are really helpful and efficient. I have had different counselors in my consultations and they range from really helpful and empathetic, so you can tackle the issue at hand from a new perspective, feel listened to and helped to, to the really uninterested incompetent professional that is like talking to a wall, don't know what active listening is and are a waste of your time because you won't get anything good out of the session. As all of these professionals are paid for their consultations, I found the presence of latter type worrisome and annoying. I would recommend customers not to stick to any professional that is not really helpful, even if the professional pressures you, because the service does not demand that. You can swap professionals if you want at any time or you can choose one professional for all your consultations if you feel they are making a difference.Quality of sound in all the calls has been deficient, perhaps because staff are working from home during COVID.

Not at all what they say it is

They really put the marketing spin in this, claiming it's a unified service for EAP that engages 100% of people. It's really the contrary, hardly anyone uses it and to be honest - I look down on my company for providing it. A waste of time and money and a really crap attempt at providing employee assistance.

No benefit at sll

Meant to be an employee benefit scheme which is paid by your employer that obviously comes out of the staff budget.

Absolutely useless.

Advice, etc by their own employee reviews is rushed and not genuine.

And the perks are either widely available on the internet or not honoured due to technicalities and been poorly written.

Advice for any employers thinking about it - give a slice of pizza to your employees instead of waisting their budget on this.

Unethical practice

This is meant to be an employee assistance programme dealing, offering support to distressed or vulnerable people.

When i turned to them for help their callous and unethical treatment only left me significantly more distressed and unhappy than when i began.

Their behaviour towards me has been completely unacceptable.
