Unexpected upgrade 😊

Went to the Light in Redhill for the first time today, really impressed. I didn’t like the seats I’d booked and as the screen wasn’t full I thought I’d ask if I could change them. I asked a lovely young man at the bar, (who was also dealing with cinema bookings) and not only did he willingly change my seats, but he gave me two leather reclining ones!
He and his colleagues were super polite and helpful, making this the best cinema experience I’ve had in a long time, I will deffo be going back and thank you.

WORST cinema experience in Cambridge.

Worst cinema experience ever had.

Some bloke behind kept eating with his mouth open and rustling in his bag constantly. Despite being asked to keep the noise down.

The seats are uncomfortable and they DO NOT recline despite the website saying they do.

And they don't fully turn off all the lights, I understand you'd is bc of safety, but all I can say is DON'T sit under them. They are distracting and blinding.

The screen looks washed as if the projecter has too much light coming out of it.
So the image wasn't sharp at all.

I would NEVER go back here. Absolutely worst cinema I've ever been to.
Shame the vue shut down. That was the go to.

Very good films are always amazing bowling is cool and the mini golf course, the workers could be nicer. But over all it’s a great place to go to and meet friends and family or just watch your favourite films.

Car park fines ruin the experience

Cinema in Walsall is good as far as the cinema goes but the car park is a fine making machine. On 2 separate occasions we have been fined despite paying because of how difficult it is to put the registration into the machine. I appreciate that the cinema is a separate company to the car park but it ruined the experience and we will not be going there ever again.

Cinema cancelled the viewing and no money refund

Booked an IMAX viewing for Project Hail Mary in Cambridge. It got cancelled on the day (7 hours before basically) with an SMS advising to cancel online. Online cancellation gave no option to get a refund in original payment method and without confirmation or anything immediately added cinema credits with an expiry date of 3 months. So not only I'm out of cash, it also has an expiry date.
Customer agent was less than helpful refusing to help or answer my direct questions.
Just go watch your movies somewhere else. Theatres think streaming killed their business, theatres are killing their own business.

Whilst I think the price for bowling is too much for just 40 minutes; the cinema and arcades are great value for fun. Sittingbourne is very lucky to have these facilities, whilst staff are mostly really helpful and friendly. The only downside is the nappy/sanitary waste bins need to be collected more frequently than they currently are, as the stench can be quite bad no matter how hard or how much staff clean. Down to management to sort out!

Good but a bit expensive

Rather expensive prices for everything they offer however the trade off is worth it. Excellent service/staff and their seats are the comfiest by far. The extras they have to offer like the bowling/darts/pool are also slightly overpriced but are good quality. We go once a month id say and wouldnt really consider going elsewhere!

5 stars for the Prosecco and High Tea

Thank you Louise (Thompson) for organising the Wuthering Heights Prosecco and High Tea this evening (13th Feb).
It was a lovely set up including balloons, hearts and candles and the selection of sandwiches and handmade cakes were delicious. A real effort was made and I look forward to future events. It made a lovely start to our cinema viewing.

Theft paid twice for tickets

Ordered discounted tickets from Service Seats, added the code at checkout, code accepted , then The Light still charged for full price for two tickets . Service Seats or The Light on the take, clearly, waste of time.

Can swap/change your booking so easily

So easy to swap and change the times of the booking. I’d booked to go to the cinema this morning and then realised I had an appointment just before, so I contacted them and quickly found out how easily you can cancel and rebook online! Very quick and EASY!

Disappointing attitude to customers

My 15 year old daughter and a group of other year 11 students visited The Light Sittingbourne last night to see a 15 certificate film.
Every one of them had their birth certificate with them, the couple with passports had them, a couple had their newly issued NI numbers.
Despite a plethora of id between them, 2 including my daughter who had a student id with her picture on in addition to her birth certificate, NI number (received this week) and her bank account opening documents(!) , were turned away. Eventually, after showing her student id to a different member of staff and asking why it was no good, my daughter was allowed in.
She was forced to buy a large drink despite only wanting a small one because there were no small cups!!
Then she found part of their group, who'd got in with earlier - with the same id as her but no hoops to jump through - had been given posters of the Film by the staff but she and another member of their group, were missed out.
Although they enjoyed the film, the entire evening was marred by their treatment by The Light Sittingbourne staff and not having their whole group there.
The Light were quick enough last year to use photos of the same group of teenagers as an online advert because they always go to films in fancy dress related to the film.
As a parent I find it disappointing in the extreme that a group of good kids can treated like this.

Bring your night vision goggles

Why is 20 minutes of advertising projected nice and bright when you need night vision goggles to see the actual feature? Because The (Twi) Light are scamming us by saving their energy bills and they know they can get away with it. Buy a big telly, some popcorn and cola. You will save in the long run. The Light has killed cinema for me.
