Booked one on uber and enjoyed it

Booked one on uber and enjoyed it. So I downloaded the app. It said book 10 minutes free so I did. When I got to the bike still within my 10 minutes it's asked me to pay £1 to unlock and took £10 payment. So I did not ride 10 minutes free. Fair do's there was only £3 in my account but it only asked for £1 not £10 so didn't get to ride on the app and paid £1.50 to uber to ride it. The app is terrible and you can not get help via the app

🚫 Overcharged €825 in Paris – Still Waiting for €417 Refund After Weeks of Silence

I used Lime scooters in Paris in early July 2025. I took a few short rides, expecting charges of around €40. Instead, my card was hit with six charges totaling €825.96, many of them completely unrelated to my actual usage.

I immediately contacted Lime support. I wrote over 10 emails, spent hours on support calls, and submitted multiple bank statements proving the overcharges. The case was supposedly “escalated” several times, with promises of resolution in 24–48 hours—yet weeks passed with no real help.

My bank managed to recover part of the money, but the largest charge, €417.48, had already been finalized and must be refunded by Lime. Despite this, Lime stopped replying meaningfully, and I’ve been left without my money—while traveling, with an empty account.

This is more than a technical issue: it’s a case of financial negligence and terrible customer service. I’ve now sent a legal notice and am preparing to take them to court under the European Small Claims Procedure.

⚠️ I strongly advise others to avoid Lime if you care about your financial safety. If anything goes wrong, there is no working support system to help you. A frustrating and stressful experience.

Had a bike NR my front door for 3,wks

Had a bike NR my front door for 3,wks. Neighbour is using it like it's his own personal bike. As soon as he moves it it beeps so he has broken it to use it for free. I have sent many emails to Lime bikes and they constantly say a operative is on there way to collect it and no one comes. Bikes and prams are not allowed in any communal area on our estate and the council do remove it's and you never see them again so I have reported it to the council and I have told lime bikes if they don't hurry and collect then they will loose it. They don't care. I message them everyday reporting kids riding broken bikes which are beeping and they take ages to reply so by the time they do the bike has gone or they say they will send someone and no one comes and there are kids as young as 7 riding these bikes where you are supposed to be 18 or over. The bikes can be lifted up from the ground and dropped which interferes with the magnets that supposed to lock the wheels after use, once this is done the bikes can be rode for free and they beep. They should place docking areas or a better wheel locking system on them and that way they would not be broken and rode for free by children. But lime bikes do not care..

Copenhagen not scooter friendly!!

The scooters have very limited parking possibilities, resulting in that you cannot use them to hop on and off in the center.
The price is also really high! One ride to see two sights, is higher than bike rentql for a whole day!!
All together i would advise the bike over the scooter! More parking possibilities!

How disappointing

How disappointing! I hopped on a scooter in Kelowna, BC as an alternative to Uber only to regret my choice: they're big & heavy; the helmets are huge so I didn't bother wearing it; the battery was low so I could only go about 15 km/hr. I have experience with scooters and prefer to ride around 30 km/hr. This made my ride twice the time it should have taken and I was charged for that time! I found a faster one but the ride ended up costing more than an Uber would have; it took way longer and was more frustrating. It was parked overnight and was still sitting there, uncharged 2 days later. With the stranded scooters and helmets, and increase number of accidents reported to emergency rooms, this idea is a nightmare.

And lime has managed to make me late for work when I set out 1hr and 5 mins before work start and the ride takes 25 - 30 mins usually so I get in early to prepare

Hired a bike with 3 green bars. Down road became 2 red bars. Parked bike where found another but could not hire this bike or the other 5 i scanned after walking around for 15 mins. The tube from home takes 30 mins but nowhere near the right tube. In end ran for a bus but its the late bus that won't get me there in time. To add insult to injury I ride every day practically yet today when scanned these bikes 50% plus of them defaulted to ride slowly whilst you learn before not actually giving me the ride so basically slow mode. This happens every day I ride and its ridiculous. Penalise people who park badly or dont ride often with training mode not those who ride everyday and work hard to park well and do the right thing. Your efforts mean I lose time which is money which I assume is the reason for the constant training mode? Really bad on every level today.

I would rate them negative -100 if it…

I would rate them negative -100 if it let me. Lime has a choke hold on the City of London and loyal customers who pay for LimePass are getting ripped off. If you report an issue through the app with your bike, it says you haven’t been charged for the ride - LIES. Your balance has been deducted the minutes. That’s lie no. 1.
Okay so then you contact customer support and they offer you (if they even reply that is) a discount voucher on your next ride - I HAVE MINUTES YOU FOOL. You request your minutes be refunded and then this is where they go silent.

I have sent 7 escalations to their useless customer service to no avail. I am owed in excess of 50 minutes due to being unable to end rides due to poor service or the app not having the right location. Don’t even get me started on their designation parking at Hampstead Heath where I have never once successfully ended my ride AS THE APP DOES NOT WORK. this means they deduct over 30 minutes for an 8 minute cycle.

This company is a joke. They are unethical and ripping off customers.

Lime do not care

Two Lime bikes were dumped outside my house, and somehow had become joined together and stuck. As a result, people are constantly coming along, thinking they’re working bikes, then when they realise they’re stuck together, they start throwing them and smashing them against the road to try and dislodge them, making a lot of noise, generally in the early hours of the morning when we’re trying to sleep. I reported this several times to Lime so they would take these conjoined bikes away, and despite saying they’ll send a ‘specialist’ to deal with the situation, no one comes and nothing is done. Lime could not care less.

Horrible experience

Omg ! Being honest here. What is the point of you providing service if you consider half of the Stockholm as no zone. I travelled late night around 1 o’clock I took the worst decision choosing you. I spent almost good amount of money for 1 km ride as you keep alarming no zone even in Stockholm. If service can’t help when you really need it what is the point ? Ask yourself guys. No wonder why people suggest Voi and Bolt e-scooters ☹️ you sucks. Period

Far too many no ride zones in London

Far too many no ride zones in London. Lime app is utterly useless for travel unless you know where you're going. So you end up using another map app that then leads you to roads closed by music festival and pride at Hyde park. Horrendous. Spent £15 trying to get to the theatre, then admitted defeat and spent another £5 trying to find a parking area. Jumped in a cab which cost £25 to go nowhere because of the terrible traffic. Missed the show. Went back home.

Appalling service

Appalling service. I tried to book 3 bikes that you can see them on the map around me but they were simply not there. I have used the ring button numerous times for no avail. The one I did find to ride had the back wheel damaged but I didn’t see until after I paid, so I had to stop it 1 minute in. I spent 25 minutes around my block wasting my time with this! Really bad service. I will never use them again

This is a huge scam

This is a huge scam. $50 FOR ONLY ONE HOUR! I’d definitely use metro bikes instead, much more affordable. Only $5 for an hour. Never using any lime products again.
