Damaged goods due to leaking roof
We have used LGSS several times over the years due to being a military family and moving around a lot but our recent experience with them has been awful. We were storing a lot of goods but had several roof leaks then a when there was heavy rain the water poured in causing water damage in the containers that left a lot of our furniture damaged. We were offered a pitiful amount from the insurance that didn’t even cover the cost of one item let alone the removals, skip hire and time off work to sort it all out. When we argued this they didn’t care and wouldn’t listen to even meet in the middle.
Compared to some of their customers we were lucky, we only lost a few bits of furniture; someone had their whole house worth of if items destroyed and they also only got offered the same pitiful amount to replace everything they owned. I’d avoid using if I were you.

Sadly we are being targeted on review platforms and social media by a single disgruntled ex customer who unfortunately was under insured and although they received a full pay out for the amount they were insured for, it seems they remain frustrated for not insuring their items for the correct amount. A single customer has requested family members and friends to post reviews and comments about a single incident. As you will see, as a company we have never had a bad review or a complaint, we pride ourselves on our customer service. In the space of 1 day we have received over 40 negative reviews and comments across numerous platforms which we hope will be seen as out of the norm and raise eyebrows as to the validity of the reviews and comments.

Our furniture was ruined by this companies negligence!!!
I had many storage units here and during this time they had multiple leaks from the roof and finally they had a big flood which ruined a lot of our furniture. We learnt the hard way, even if your goods are insured its just not worth the hassle, just go to one of the bigger companies that are properly weather proofed. We had so much stuff there and if we could have moved we would have, just want to warn others. Feel sorry for the other customers that lost even more than us.
The company have written to me stating, i quote "Its important for us to point out that defamation is a criminal act. We will not hesitate to instruct our legal team to pursue those individuals or companies involved in any defamatory act against any of our Group companies or staff members." Asking friends/people at work, in the gym or anywhere for that matter for advice is not illegal!!
In terms of defamation, it ceased being a criminal act as far as I'm aware in 2010 and I am totally in my right to express what happen.
To clarify one point in their response, when they say freak incident they mean it rained and their roof let the water in due to poor maintenance!

We are a family run business who have been trading for over 100 years basing our success on how we look after our customers and always go the extra mile.
It was a very unfortunate and freak incident that occurred, the only one that has happened in all our time in business. A customer had under insured their items, we worked really hard to support him with his claim to ensure he got the maximum pay out for the policy he took out but sadly in this instance we are finding that no matter how hard we have tried, we just can’t meet his demands.
We feel review platforms, if used the right way, are an extremely important part of business today giving potential customers the reassurance that they will do business with a reputable company.
We have been trading for over 7 years in our self-storage locations, we have had almost 600 happy customer use our self-storage facilities, many of which are returning customers. As you will see if you look at reviews and social media to date, we have an excellent reputation, never having received a complaint before…
