when I made a decision to start learning new language, i fortunately encountered this resource with professional tutors. well, I had no idea whether they were professional back in the day, just acted as I felt.

Too much nonsense
As a tutor you can't refuse to have a student. As long as they bought a subscription they can choose you. I had once a problem with a student who showed disrespect to me and I had to justify to Livexp why I didn't want to teach this person anymore.
It doesn't pay much compared to other platforms. The maximum you can get is 15$ for one hour.
Also if a student is absent you only get paid if you stayed in front of your screen during the whole lesson aka 60 minutes. As if I don't have better things to do. If a student is absent it's the student's fault not mine. It happened to me that I stayed 25 minutes in the lesson waiting for the student that didn't come so I left the classroom. They refused to pay me the lesson.

Livexp is not a good company
Livexp is not a good company. I wanted to sign up as a tutor. In the beginning, everything seemed to be going well. After a while, I received a notification. I had to change my video thumbnail. I tried to change it but the frame I got was way too small. The result was that I had difficulties with including my shoulders into the frame. I contacted them many times and they kept telling me that I needed to use a horizontal picture, even though I did. They also said that they were willing to help me to upload my picture properly, they never did! We have had conversations for about 10 days without a solution. It felt like a huge waste of time. All this time my profile was hidden. It is still hidden to this day! I do not recommend livexp.

I needed an English tutor with a specific profile (as young as possible, not intimidating, with a proper US accent) for my daughter. She chose a lovely teacher named Tammi. They've had three lessons so far, and my kid loved them.
The platform itself is straightforward and does what it's supposed to do. I can reschedule or cancel lessons if something comes up. Also, switching teachers or languages is simple if we ever want to.
Everything works as advertised. The video call quality is excellent, and the option to take notes during the lesson is super helpful. This feature allows tutors to summarize lessons for parents, keeping us updated on our kids' progress.
We haven't tried the Word Trainer yet since our main focus right now is on conversation. The goal is to make my daughter feel comfortable talking in English - and she's doing great! Kudos to LiveXP and, of course, Tammi!
