A Company Lacking Accountability and Credibility.

Living DNA is, without question, one of the worst DNA testing companies I have used. After taking tests with both 23andMe and Ancestry, the difference in quality, accuracy, and professionalism is striking. The results provided by Living DNA are highly inaccurate and, at times, geographically illogical. The company appears unable to define even basic regional boundaries, which seriously undermines confidence in its methodology.

In addition to the poor results, there is a troubling lack of transparency. The company does not appear to have a clearly verifiable physical address, and attempts to locate it using GPS or standard mapping services are unsuccessful. This absence of basic corporate accountability only adds to concerns about its credibility.

By contrast, established companies such as 23andMe and Ancestry provide coherent, well-researched, and realistic results, supported by clear explanations and professional standards. Living DNA fails on all these fronts. Overall, this service was a waste of both time and money, and I would strongly advise anyone seeking accurate and meaningful DNA analysis to avoid this company.

From the very beginning, my experience has been positive - and it is all about the people! All of my communications with Living DNA has been professional, knowledgeable and constructive! Over the course of a number of emails to and from Living DNA it is obvious that the person I communicated with is a real asset to Living DNA....and has a wonderful sense of humour!
I do recommend Living DNA to anyone I speak with about genealogy and completing their DNA. In addition to the people, another positive, important to me, is that you can upload DNA results from other companies to Living DNA!
I am pleased with the DNA results I received and the scope that it covers.

Super easy website to navigate, making all options very clear indeed. The customer service has been great - very quick to respond to queries and thorough in their response. Just sent the test back, so can't comment on the length of time it will take, but I'm really happy I chosen this company

Living DNA hasn't matched me with any true matches

Excellent customer support. Have purchased 4 kits over last 5 years and give them as gifts and never been disappointed by the service or the recipients reaction. Had to contact them this year as we couldn't see results and it had been lost in transit. A new one was immediately sent out. Cannot thank Clare enough for all her help, advice and support over past few years.

1: All actions and dates were fulfilled in proper time and indeed sooner than presumed dates.
2: the customer service response were quick and helpful.
3: the results of y chromosome haplogroup and mDNA were good in details regarding the price I have paid.indeed the result of y chromosome haplogroup was identical with male members of my own tribal descend.

The result of recent ancestry was strange.forme as one who his ancestors from both father and mother side have been living for centuries in Iraq , to have nill Iraq and levant ancestry is weird,and to have strong arabia result and than bypassing levant and Iraq and anatolia with zero and jump suddenly to southern caucasus is non understood and so is high percentage of Nilo-Saharan ancestry.indeed the results is not compatible with many tests I have done with other companies and I think there is no much reference data for mideasterner people like me in the company.
On the whole the company was great.

The fact that Living DNA were patient, kind and understanding for me while I wait for my results and guide me through the process of getting the results through.

The quick answers and the calm and collected tone the messages seemed to convey.

As an American, finding a company for genetic testing that protects a users information, both personal and genetic, is surprisingly hard. I chose this company specifically for their strict privacy rules, and the fact that they offer a unique mix of elements to test for. The whole process is very simple, and I especially liked the fact that you can purchase add-on testing options even after the sample was submitted. Great customer service, really enjoyed the whole experience.

DONT WHEN I SAY DONT I MEAN DO NOT just go to ancestry or 23andme those are the best and more advanced and cheaper way cheaper i spent $180+ for this DNA and got SCAMMED I’m Arab I thought i did my research well and thought because im paying more I would get a more in depth dna but I was so wrong they didn’t even breakdown my dna properly and they got my dna all wrong just because im Arab and come to find out they don’t specialize on Arab dna so I was so annoyed and pissed spent $180+ when I could’ve just did what my sister did and spent $99 on ancestry and got a better dna test that’s actually ACCURATE AND SHOWS EXACTLY where I’m from to the VILLAGE OF WHERE IM FROM, DNAliving can’t even show a COUNTRY let alone a city or village.. the fact that my sister dna from ancestry was accurate showed our country village and my livingDNA looked nothing of where I’m from couldn’t even name one country my main country wasn’t even on there… its a scam DONT BUY THEM they overcharge and can barely do a simple DNA analysis properly.

Their customer service is incredible and they’re very good at getting back to you ASAP and give good, detailed explanations to resolve any issues you might be having no matter when it is.

A Fabulous Customer Service Representative named Clare has helped me several times. I'm 80 years old, not very computer literate, and Clare has been kind enough to patiently assist me through the 3 challenges I inadvertently created over a period of 3 years. I've referred her onto an online friend in the UK who is also a Living DNA client. Kudos Clare!
