I made contact with somebody in the company. hard to do for most!
Although I did not change the way the company looks at their data from areas of reference.

I had issues from the start. I contacted the support team right away and they quickly found the trouble was caused by me skipping an important step (1). Then after doing the DNA analysis the results were inconclusive, which Living DNA advised me of, and presented options to choose from. I opted for taking another DNA sample. The kit came quickly, and the test results came equally fast. Thank you again

It start with a real quick response from a real person. Normally you get either an automatic mail or you have to wait for ages.
So a very good start. And this continued during our exchange and the problem was solved without any unnecessary discussion.
Exactly the way you want to communicate.
Perfect!

I’ve tested with 3 different dna companies and I’d like to say that Livingdna is by far my favourite experience. Firstly, I was very pleased with my results, which I received well before the projected 8 weeks. The regional breakdown was second to none for detail. My ydna and mtdna was also included, as was family matching. Additional tests can be purchased ( Viking, classical, Neanderthal etc) I purchased them all at a very reasonable price. Again very happy with the results. Customer service is excellent. Claire who I have spoken to a few times is very detailed in her responses and polite to boot! Contacting them is easy and responses are swift. If you’re planning on doing a dna test , particularly if like me, you’re from the uk, Livingdna is the way to go. Fabulous experience.
Darren.

Great job of helping customers trouble shoot the process. Each bump in the road for me was answered in a reasonable amount of time, with patience and a helpful interaction to lead me on the right path. Now I am waiting for the results.

I had a very unique situation. I live in the tiny West African country of Benin but am a citizen of the United States. I didn't fit neatly into any of the websites that livingdna had created to provide their product. However customer service worked with me, actually added additional options just for me, and sent the package out. The response time was amazing! The analysis was done early. I am so very happy that excellent customer service still exists and I was able to benefit from it.

Clare M provided excellent service with a very quick response and reassuring follow up not seen in many customer service programmes these days. I wish other providers would provide the same level of service

My wife and I both ordered kits from Living DNA. Unfortunately, although my wife’s kit was received, mine was not, apparently being lost in the mail. When I queried the company, One of the representatives, Clare M responded and, over a couple of weeks checked with the appropriate company points where it might be, and kept me informed. Finally, concluding that it was lost, she simply ordered a replacement kit to be shipped to me. It was wonderful customer service, and Clare was responsive, and friendly, as well as professional.

I’m rewriting this after being accused of using AI for my first review. Just to clarify, I’m a real person and this is based fully on my own research and personal opinion.
Living DNA includes Slovenia in a region called West Balkan, which honestly doesn’t make much sense. Geographically, Slovenia is part of Central Europe. Genetically, culturally and historically, Slovenia has a lot more in common with Austria or northern Italy than with the southern Balkans.
What bothered me even more was the genetic grouping. Slovenians were lumped in with populations from Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and others, but these are not genetically the same groups. We might share some overlap with northern Croatia, but even that part of Croatia is more Central European than Balkan.
Also, the label West Balkan DNA is misleading. There’s no such thing as a single West Balkan genetic group. For example, Albania is also in the Western Balkans, but Albanians have a completely different genetic profile from Slavs or Central Europeans. The region is way too diverse to be grouped under one simplified label.
This isn’t just my opinion. A 2018 study in Frontiers in Genetics found that Slovenians are closer genetically to Northern and Eastern Europeans. Another study in Scientific Reports (Fernandes et al., 2020) showed that Slovenians cluster more with Central Europeans, not with populations from the southern Balkans.
Living DNA should really rethink how it defines regions like this. A more accurate and research-based approach would make the results much more meaningful for people from Central and Southeastern Europe.

Clare M is outstanding and if everyone at Living DNA is as kind to each customer that would mean the entire team should receive the highest ratings possible.
There were several communications with Clare M but for this communication I am showing the current date.

I like the feature on their website to upload raw data from another DNA lab and to compare.
Additionally, I truly appreciate the Customer Service of Living DNA - they respond quickly and efficiently. I've been reaching out to their team a few times over the past 2 years and the quality of service has consistently been on top- especially Ms. Clare. Thank you!

I have received genetic information from other DNA companies, but honestly, Living DNA is not only the best at diagnosing genes with great accuracy, but also its customer service and the personal care of each of its agents ensure that the client receives the best attention. Clare, was the best.

I’ve had a great experience with submitting my DNA with Living DNA. Clare was great communicating with me when I had questions about getting multiple tests for my wife & daughter. I also found out I have Viking DNA!

I haven’t worked with similar companies before, so I can’t make direct comparisons—but I was genuinely impressed by the personal attention I received from customer service. Every question I had was thoroughly answered, and it was clear that the agent took the time to understand my situation and respond with a thoughtful, original message, rather than generic templates.
