We paid for them to be our building control in 2021. They didn't review the planning application instead stated they were only required to go from the description of works. Their London Commercial Director was apparently our building inspector.

At the end of the project, despite visit to site on several occasions during, they then announced the build wasn't compliant and would require remedial works as we had apparently changed its usage which wasn't true.

We complained and they used a statutory duties defense absolving themselves of any responsibility. We had to take them to their regulator.

We took them via their third party adjudicators who supported their statuary defense argument with some healthly victim blaming too boot.

Our experiences cost us £12,000 extra. So be very careful and don't expect any recourse if things go wrong as they will simply point to their statutory duties. Building inspectors are special in that you can't litigate.

We failed to reach resolution with the firm in September 2023 with then claiming no responsibility.

There is no point in paying any money to this company. Despite the lofty title, don't ever believe that they have the clients best interests at heart. They might as well be saying blah blah blah...or yawning while you speak. Definitely on the side of cowboy builders...

Had a little extension and kitchen renovation at home, the guys from LBC were proactive and very helpful. Came with lots of knowledge and advice and made sure I got the best from my contractors and kept them honest. Will be using again on any future works I do and have also recommended them to friends.
