Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the product quality, noting that jewelry often broke quickly, tarnished, or caused allergic reactions, even when advertised as surgical steel or waterproof. People also felt that the pricing was too high for the poor quality received. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with staff, describing them as helpful, kind, and professional, particularly during ear piercing services. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that some staff members were rude, unprofessional, or provided inadequate service, including issues with piercing accuracy or hygiene practices.

Amazing!

I love this shop for beautiful jewellery that won't break the bank. Finally had my ears pierced here (at 68) in the Plymouth UK branch and the service was friendly and professional, after care was superb. Such lovely staff. Special thanks to Salwa and Caitlin.

First Piercing..

Went to the Lovisa store in Cardiff to get my lobes pierced. I'm 16 and got them done with my friends. The two people who pierced my ears were lovely. I was scared to get them pierced but they were constantly telling me it wouldn't hurt and that it would be over before I knew it. They even offered to do it at the same time to get it over with faster. They disinfected everything in front of me and asked my friends for their opinion on where she drew the dot to pierce my ears. Beautiful earrings, ears don't hurt, amazing service and great price.

Do NOT get pierced!

Please please if you are wanting a piercing just go to a proper piercers. I went to the Reading store, UK and the mechanism that pierces got stuck in my ear and spent 1.5hrs trying to remove it. I was mortified and in pain. Staff didn't know what to do, the mall security staff turned up instead of First Aid and were useless to say the least. I was left on my own to deal with it.

Only one side pierced and the damage it done has meant that 8 weeks on and still isn't healing. I've looked after it by cleaning the area every day and still it's red sore. I've had a phone call with "head piercer of Europe, Africa" and while he was sympathetic all I was offered was free piercing??? As if I'm going to risk that again.

So disappointed in after care due to this horrific incident. Area Manager never phoned me back as promised and I've requested a copy of my signed permission form prior to my piercing because I want to read exactly what I signed but still nobody has given this to me almost 2 months later still waiting.

I'm just glad this happened to me and not a young child getting a first piercing!

Bad jewellery

I went and got my mum a necklace from this store. Not even after a week of having it the colour started to turn grey. I know it’s costume jewellery but seriously I expected better. Another time I was walking past this store I heard an employee having a go at a customer, awful store.

On 2/13/25 @ 3:35 2 ladies worked there and were very rude and rushing us constantly asking if we were ready to check out which we were not and that was very unprofessional, I was shopping for my wedding when I could of gone to a real jewelry place. But now I see unprofessionalism was their goal to get us out. This was at Willowbrook mall store # 54604. Very unsatisfied especially it being our wedding shopping experience. We felt discriminated due to being lesbians.

Amazing customer feedback

I was in the Wagga Wagga store on the 11th of Feb, and I just wanted to share how amazing and friendly the two girls were! One had a purple blazer and long dark hair and the other brown hair and a pink overalls type outfit! I used to actually work at lovisa a million years ago and I always felt pressure to sell to customers but never got this vibe fron the girls, they were friendly genuine and super relaxed and that’s what made me want to buy more !! Absolutely happy with how my expertise was and I know how hard you girls work as a past employee at this store so please pass this on!!!

I bought earrings and a barrette

I bought earrings and a barrette, when I went to wear the earrings the one earring wouldn't close right, so I was afraid to wear them. The barrette after taking out of package seemed to heavy to wear in my hair. When I bought them I was not told I couldn't return them, so I drove 25 minutes each way to be told I couldn't return them. I never wore either. So make sure when you buy there it's exactly as you want or shop do somewhere else. I was so mad I grabbed everything but my receipt.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

Today me and a group of friends travelled up to Liffey valley shopping centre and we decided to get our ears pierced in lovisa . First of all very unorganised there were 2 people working as someone was getting their ears pierced she ran over and was giving me prices in the middle of piercing someone else’s ear!! As my friend were getting her seconds done the piercer put one of the mark way up her ear and a random man had to say to my friend they’re not even close to be even . Another one of my friend then had to take the marker of off this worker and mark it herself , disgraceful .Secondly we were in there for 2 HOURS for a 2 minute piercing . I also got my seconds done and she ended up piercing my hair into my ear and now my ear is PURPLE AND BLUE!! And the worst bit is my friend was refused to be pierced until the manager came which was supposed to take 10 minutes , no the manager came 30 minutes LATE!!!, as we could see her hiding out behind the secret room behind the mirror .She then said she would end up piercing a very painful spot instead of the actual helix . my friend said no as she didn’t want it to hurt , she then asked for her money back and the manager refused also the manager said she had never done this piercing before so my friend left without any money and no piercing absolutely appalling behaviour .The workers were absolutely outraged AS HOT AS A SAUNA IN THERE .Will not be returning . BRING BACK HOLLAND AND BARRETT!!! 😡😡😡 cost me €69 for one small piercing hate this shop . Also my belly piercing broke in the first 10 minutes I had bought it and my father had to fix it . Shein would be better .

not even a one star. lovisa workers in liffey valley are TERRIBLE!!Me and a group of friends went to get our helix pierced they took our money first without checking out ears(first red flag).I went to got my piercing and they told me i couldn’t get one because of my ear was to SMALL!?The workers have never pierced ears before or anything,i asked for money back because they didn’t use the piecing or even open or even get the gun out and they refused. Manager came and was gonna pierce of my ear that she never said she’s never done before. My friends ears are purple and blue now.Other kids who were 8 years old weren’t even asked for adult signature or anything. Just terrible and horrible shop and experience. The shop is about 100 degrees. Another red flag my friend how to get the marker and do it for the worker because she didn’t know how to the worker?!I asked for a helix and they started piecing my LOBE.. They are so rude speaking there native language in front of you.We were only in there for TWO HOURS TWO!!

Awful customer services

The photographs on the website are deceiving, I ordered two huggies, they are literary tiny, you need a magnifying glass to see the cubic zirconia stones and they are extremely small and thin. Given that they are ermetically sealed I thought it would be no problem to return them but customer services said NO! This is their policy regardless if the box is sealed or not, for hygene reasons. I would understand that if they were not ermetically sealed, but I am not sure what the hygene implication can be when they are sealed in a transparent plastic box that you can clearly see it has not been opened !!

Do not get a piercing here

Do not get a piercing at Lovisa. I got a double helix piercing in september 2024 and told me the tool they use is different to a gun but it’s not. Both piercings are sinking into my ear and causing skin to grow over meaning both are now stuck in my ear. I’m having to go to the hospital to get it cut and removed. I followed all of the cleaning steps after it was pierced and have had nothing but grief since. I’ve been to another local piercing shop and they’ve said they’ve had lots of people coming in with infected piercings from Lovisa and they say they’re hardly even qualified to do them!

4 weeks to receive Click and Collect Order

Took 4 weeks and multiple emails, to finally find out if my online order was ready for collection. Turns out the store had received my click and collect order 2 weeks previously but no-one had scanned it in in order for me to be informed that it was ready for collection. The only good thing about this experience was the girl that served me when I collected them.

Avoid piercings at all costs

Daughter had her ear pieced here at the Liverpool store and followed every single instruction of aftercare. However despite this she ended up hospitalised with a severe Perichondritis (cartilage infection) needing ear surgery due to the damage and trauma from the device used which they claim is not a gun but does the exact same damage to the cartilage. My daughters ear will never look the same again she's been told she's now at risk of getting cauliflower ear and potentially needing reconstruction surgery. When I've spoken to a actual piercing shop local to Lovia they've had 6 people in with ear infections in all from Lovisa seeking support. Honestly avoid Lovisa at all costs all there information on there website is based on the USA.

Extremely horrible customer service at…

Extremely horrible customer service at the Lovisa shop at Derbion - Derby. Myself and 2 teen daughters who are loyal customers will never step into this store again. It's a shame coming from such young sales associates who should be learning and putting up that friendly vibrant vibe you would expect. The attitude and communication was the worst I've ever experienced.

Good luck with such people at the front of your business Lovisa.

Was surprised to be check my E-receipt…

Was surprised to check my E-receipt to find £5.75 for taxes on top of my bill. I think it’s fraudulent to not declare to the client that there will be a charge on top of the expected bill. I saw the same jewellery I bought elsewhere at a better price. Was willing to buy at lovisa because I thought the package would make a good gift bag. But after reviewing my receipt, I realised my total bill was above the value of the pieces. I would have been better off buying the pieces else where and paying for a gift bag!! I felt scammed!

Worst Customer Service Ever

The customer service here was extremely disappointing. It felt like we were treated differently because of our skin color. My wife and I were looking to buy some earrings when a lady staff member approached us and asked if we needed anything. I simply asked if the store was about to close, and her response was shockingly rude. She gave us a condescending expression and replied in an arrogant manner. This kind of behavior is unacceptable.

Kind & Caring Employees

My two daughters, aged 8 and 12 plus myself had our ears pierced at Lovisa in the Mall at Cribbs Causeway. We had them done on 3 different days by 4 different employees (12 year old had them pierced at the same time).
The ladies at Lovisa were friendly, kind and caring to daugthers and me. They were patient with my girls and made them feel at ease.
I would highly recommend this store for piercing and the jewellery was pretty too.
Well done ladies, you should feel proud of yourselves.
