Excellent service... understood my circumstances quickly and turned it into an approved application in no time

Lowdens was my biggest mistake. Lowdens was a broker recommended by the developers of the property I was interested in. As a first-time buyer, I'm not an expert on the property market, so I relied on the advice of Lowdens, which was inaccurate, and that's something no first-time buyer employing the services of a broker should go through.

I made it clear I could only afford a 10% deposit with HTB, and the broker confirmed I was eligible for the scheme. Fast forward a few weeks later, I'm being told my deposit will have to be 15% to qualify for HTB. When I queried this difference, the broker vehemently refused to take responsibility for providing incorrect information and accused me of raising my voice in frustration when he wouldn't admit his mistake. It was only after presenting the email evidence that he admitted his mistake.

Now I'm in a position where I'm not sure how I'll be able to raise the extra 5%, and I could lose the fees I've already paid towards the property. I honestly wish I'd never crossed paths with such an incompetent broker in my house-buying experience.

When I started searching for mortgage brokers I compared Lowdens with 5 other brokers including TORC24, however everytime I wanted to talk to someone I needed to book a call for a week in advance or wait for a callback that never happened. At the start I was worried about Lowden as they are a smaller company however once I decided to go through with them I realised that they were available 7 days a week and having a small team made you be able to know everyone and be able to follow where you left off immediately without having to wait. This also meant that my mortgage and Help to Buy got approved so so quick. I can’t emphasis how amazing they were throughout the process.

About the mortgage rates they actually found me better rates than every other place. So 10000% recommend them!!!

I'm pleased with the service received. Initially I started with a different broker and they were taking their time, not responding to my messages and calls. It's good that I switched to Lowdens - the responses were speedy and the process progressed seamlessly.

I came back to Bill Aitken having used him for my first mortgage seven years ago.
