How professional...

Wow. That was incredibly rude.

I brought my Gazelle e-bike in for warranty repair. The staff was quick to suggest the issue might be due to me riding over 4000 km without having the first service done at 500 km. I explained that I had the bike regularly serviced elsewhere and had recently done a full check-up.

A day or two later, I got a message saying the bike was ready. All the faulty parts were replaced under warranty, but they had also performed a general service and were now charging me around €100 for it - without asking or informing me beforehand.

When I arrived to collect the bike, I calmly explained the situation. A man who seemed to be the manager or owner came out, pointed at the invoice and, in a cold tone, asked if anything on it was incorrect. I tried to explain what had happened. During our short conversation, he interrupted several times and abruptly said, “Follow me.” So I did.

Then, out of nowhere, he said, “Never come back.” That raised my eyebrow, but I waited patiently since an employee was bringing out my bike. Then he repeated: “Never come back. Not even for warranty.” Obviously I wanted to know why. Did I do something wrong? Throughout the exchange, he pushed me a couple of times - not hard, but still...

He simply waved the invoice at me - from behind the closed gate - and said, “Because of this.”

No further explanation, no paperwork, no respect.

PS. I thought they didn't tighten down my seat post properly, but it turned out they've actually overdone it and broke 2 pieces of plastic inside.
