I’m genuinely fair when I write feedback, whether it’s positive or negative. This time, however, I was very disappointed with my experience booking through DoyouItaly with WHEEGO Rent a Car.

They asked for an international complementary drive licence requirement that had never been requested in my previous rentals. The main issue was that they were willing to ignore this requirement only if I purchased their full insurance at an extremely high price.

To me, this feels unethical. Either the document is mandatory or it isn’t — it should not depend on paying extra. These companies attract customers with very low online prices and then increase the final cost with additional conditions and expensive add-ons. In my opinion, this is a legalized scam.

Fortunately, renting the car was only for convenience, and I had friends who could pick me up from the airport.

Mi è stata richiesta la patente complementare internazionale , cosa che non mi era mai stata chiesta nei noleggi precedenti. Il problema principale è che erano disposti a ignorare questa regola solo se avessi acquistato la loro assicurazione completa, a un prezzo decisamente eccessivo.

Per me questo comportamento è poco etico. O il documento è obbligatorio oppure no: non dovrebbe dipendere dal pagamento di servizi extra. Queste compagnie attirano clienti con prezzi online molto bassi e poi aumentano il costo finale con condizioni aggiuntive e costosi extra. A mio parere, è una sorta di truffa legalizzata.

Fortunatamente, per me il noleggio era solo una comodità e avevo amici disponibili a venirmi a prendere in aeroporto.

Booking in Doyouitaly is easy and fast. The only surprise was that there was an extra charge of 75 € for leaving the car at the airport, which is only 5 km away.

Booking process is quite easy and prices affordable including full insurance.

The booking process was easy and the initial price looked attractive, but the overall experience turned into a frustrating waste of time.

After returning the car correctly and without damage, I was wrongly charged an extra €20 because the rental company falsely registered the vehicle as returned to a different location. I had to personally visit their office twice to solve the issue because DoYouItaly was unable to handle even this simple problem effectively.

Another problematic point was a hidden/additional €10 “local tax” mentioned only vaguely in the voucher under “other information”, together with optional extras like WiFi and roadside assistance. It was not clearly presented as a mandatory fixed fee during booking.

Customer support replied slowly and mostly pushed responsibility onto the rental company instead of properly assisting the customer.

In the end, the issue was only partially resolved thanks to my own persistence and wasted time.

If I could give them no star that would be great. I’m absolutely disgusted with the service! We were waiting in a queue to check our large bagger for an hour and due to that we missed our flight. I had reserved car with this company and they had 1 hour courtesy. What is 1 hour? Seriously!! I had to re-book the flight, find the money to buy the flight, called them to let them know about the situation so our car don’t get cancelled but they were still closed at 7am! So I couldn’t do anything, it wasn’t my fault and they just took away €208! All I can say they are just hungry for the money, they didn’t take into consideration how awful this situation was and they couldn’t even wait until we would be in Italy for 20:00pm instead of 9am as no other flights were flying there. It is my partners birthday next week and they didn’t even take that into consideration to offer us or give us some discount nothing completely nothing. This company is a joke that’s all I’ve got to say. They don’t look at the whole situation what happened etc cause they care about the money only. So DoyouItaly is more like DoONEItay.

It very very difficult to solve the problem ai not working or working wrong way and even then you reach support by email they also reply like ai with standard sentences it a compliance form there is no subject “supplier did not provide the car “ and it happened with me second time already, and there is no way to get your money back , so will not use your service anymore
