The experience was extremely unsatisfactory

I have been using Gmail since its inception and attempted to create a new account this week. The experience was extremely unsatisfactory. Even after creating the account on a friend’s phone, Google denied access, claiming I was a bot. This is a significant departure from the service I am accustomed to.

A very poor product from Google

A very poor product from Google. If you have conversation view on and label items, when you go into that label you will see the subject line of the emails (then you click into the subject to see the email chain) and a date of last email. However this date doesnt update for new emails. So you're thinking Im sure another email has come but in actual fact is has but the date is not updated.

If i could put 0 i would

If i could put 0 i would. Gmail is the most insufferable company on the planet. I am in another country and cannot sign in to ANY of my accounts due to the ONLY phone number google seems to recognize is my US number, which i dont have access to SINCE IM IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. I have added all 2FA measures to try to circumvent it as well as even changing the phone number associated with the account, but it still insists that the US phone number is the ONLY form of verification it will take. With the plenty of options in my settings besides text, i thought this moronic company would be able to see that "oh, hes legit, and marked all of these changes to the account as 'this was me' so surely well let him in??" But no, my phone number has changed recently in my account, but we will still send you to the US phone number. AS SOON as i return home, i will be severing ALL of my uses of gmail or anything gmail related.

Gmail - the greed monster

Gmail has become a greed monster. It forces advertising into your inbox. Reads your emails for AI (without telling you first) and is only driven to make more money off your personal and potentially private data. I am going to leave Google for personal email.

Gmail insist that I use 2-step login

Gmail insist that I use 2-step login which I did not request and do not want. Compared with using a password, login now takes forever. I use a desktop, my phone is often not with me. I cannot find any way to turn off 2-step login. Gmail has always been complex but it is heading to the pits.

Simple, Safe, and Works Every Day

I’ve been using Gmail for many years, both for work and personal stuff. It just works — no problems, no drama.

It keeps my messages safe, filters the spam, and I can find old emails in seconds. That’s what I like: simple and reliable.

For me, Gmail is like a good tool — you use it every day, and it never lets you down. Solid and trustworthy.

I absolutely hate the new "purchases"…

I absolutely hate the new "purchases" folder and here is why. I sort my purchase receipts into specific folders and this is important because I keep my business receipts in business-specific folders. I can move a copy into my preferred folders, but can't delete the one in the purchases folder or it is deleted in the folder I put it in. Gmail is too stupid to put the correct things in there or leave it in the inbox, such as USPS Informed Delivery which is not a purchase AT ALL! Gmail must think people that use Gmail are absolute idiots and as stupid as Gmail developers are that it thinks we can't keep track of our own purchase and receipts. All this will do is force us to have to buy more space to keep all the extra, copies of emails in Purchases, and I refuse to do that. So, after 13 years of using Gmail, I will be switching to another email provider. Disgusting, dumbing down garbage from Gmail. Again. This is the last straw.

If I could give Google a zero I would

If I could give Google a zero I would. If you don't use their shitty spyware/AI training programming, they don't filter spam mail from your regular mail. You know, the basic mail thing? Looking for a new email system now.
