Brilliant go-to problem solvers
We have turned to Maintracts in Tooting on a number of occasions since buying a house in the area - they have been brilliant. They do what it takes to get a problem sorted - no bailing when eg something is not easy to access. They also seem not to charge more than is necessary - on more than one occasion they have given advice that resulted in me paying them less than would otherwise be the case. So we feel confident going back to them. Malcolm is brilliant, courteous and helpful. If only all contractors and house service firms were like this!
Went beyond the call of duty
Malcolm at Maintracts was fantastic. With the cold snap our boiler malfunctioned and he was remarkably helpful dealing with our emergency even though he was juggling several other emergencies at the same time.

Matthew Lip Is The Mature Expert Noone Can Do Without
It’s fair to say that my wife and I have had some questionable experiences with contractors over the years. Regularly we have felt overcharged, under-advised or just frankly disappointed and annoyed by the service provided and/ or the work conducted. Not with Maintracts, specifically Matthew. Matthew is one of those god-like human beings who has selflessly perfected his trade as a heating technician, over the years, to what can only be described as a Mr Miyagi style perfection and knowledge of the boiler and heating technique world. His focus on our job from the moment he walked through our door was sensational. Our experience began with their 24hour available call centre - polite, efficient and effective. The team gave me three updates before Matthew arrived as to where he was and what time he’d be with me - he arrived bang on time, not a moment later. He was kind, explanatory and understood the issues we were facing immediately. He took his shoes off, interacted brilliantly with my inquisitive four year old, cracked on with the job at pace and sorted an 18month old issue out in under and hour and a half. We will never ever use anyone else when it comes to heating and plumbing needs. Matthew and Maintracts, you have our business for life. Matthew, you’re a gem, they’re lucky to have you, your next customers are very lucky people. Thanks again - toasty warm house, three happy kids and a happy wife.

Total replacement of old boiler with new Nest controlled system
I had to have an old twin boiler set up removed and replaced with a single modern boiler requiring considerable changes to pipe work, electrics and two full days of work. Matthew is highly experienced at this sort of complex work and I chose him as I was confident he would do a good job for me, as indeed he did. It was two full days of work and required a lot of pipe work alterations and modifications to the whole set up all in a very small room. The new system controlled now by a Nest system is functioning perfectly.

I could not be happier with the service and expertise that I received from Matthew at Maintracts. We moved into our house 7 years ago and inherited a boiler that was old but, with an annual service, was reliable. We had planned to replace it at some point in the future but had thought that would be when it eventually gave up for good. With the recent huge surges in energy prices I have been increasingly concerned about the efficiency of our creaking boiler. After talking through the options and comparative energy efficiency of our ancient Baxi and a new Glow Worm boiler with Matthew I was convinced that this alone would represent savings – both this winter and in the longer term.
We had Matthew in to replace our boiler and we were really impressed with his speed and effectiveness – he completed the work swiftly and left the house looking as though he had not been there. He even hoovered and took away the old boiler.
Matthew also upgraded our control system so we can now use the Hive app to control the boiler allowing us to turn it on before we leave work to reduce the amount of time we have the heating or hot water on. In addition he noticed that we needed to balance our radiators to maximise our energy efficiency. This boiler has not only made me feel confident that our bills will reduce over the winter months but also makes me happy that we are reducing our impact on the environment.
I can not recommend Matthew at Maintracts enough as we are already saving money!
Efficient, professional problem-solver…
Very happy indeed with the plumbing work that James Russell did for us. The initial problem we had was a leak from the toilet caused by me unintentionally disconnecting the cistern outlet, thinking it was the wing nut to change the toilet seat; this caused a bathroom flood! A consequence of me turning off the mains to contain the flood, was that it introduced a massive airlock to our water tank/gravity-based system, which meant we had no water on the first and second floor of our house.
The leak had also revealed that various parts such as washers and a hose in the toilet had degraded and need replacing. James patiently and diligently sorted these all out, sourcing and buying the necessary parts locally very quickly.
It also wasn't easy to get the airlock out of the system, but he finally did so after trying 3-4 different methods, involving identifying exactly where the airlock was (above our hot water tank) and replacing a valve on the tank to make it quicker flowing. All very complicated but James was on a mission to identify the problem and fix it! He was extremely professional, worked quickly and efficiently, and we are just so grateful for his evident experience and expertise in fixing the multiple plumbing problems that we had.
