Misleading advertizing and dishonest billing practices
The add of that company cought my attention and I decided to take a look at it. On March 11, 2026 I purchased and fully paid for the shortest period offered which was 1 week. After first 5 min I realized that their makes you 100% fluent if you are already 99% fluent before you start. I am a beginner, and for me their approach was useless. I decided not to extend my license even by one day. To my surprise on March 18, 2026 I was charded $77 on my CC without any explanations. My refund requests are left unanswered. I did not enlist in any 1-week free trial leading to a longer commitment. I fully paid for 1 week, and that's it. This kind of entrapment is not what a respectable company practices. Missleading advertizing and dishonest billing practices. Stay away.
Day after my review was publshed, the company contacted me and offered a refund promptly and professionally. I also received a message from PayPal informing me that my complaint to PayPal was resolved in my favor.

FRAUDULENT CHARGES
UPDATE: The company is challenging : “Please note that subscription details, including renewal terms, are presented during checkout” Everyone who is not a fraudster knows if you sell someone ONE thing for $9.99 and then switch the offer at checkout, only mentioning in small print and not getting the buyer’s agreement that you are in fact going to bill them an additional $60 every 6 months (plus you change the billing name various places) that is STILL FRAUD.… On top of this, I was never able to log-in to use the $9.99 product I DID agree to, just as others have experienced... AND I’ve contacted twice with no response.
Quick to respond and pretend they are honest and reasonable when potential new victims are watching, though.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I paid $9.99 for the foreign language app in 2025 that the link didn't work for. No answer. Rushing around abroad. Forgot about it... 1 year later I find 3 more charges equalling over $150 I never authorised. I don't even know what the $150+ is for. They use a different name for their PayPal account and yet another name on your card's billing statement.
This is why nice companies can't make sales.

The add-ons after the fact were kind of annoying. Good deals, but too many extra layers and "one-time specials". Just be upfront about it. It would make the whole checkout process a little less annoying from my perspective, and it took longer than it needed to.

BEWARE!!!
BEWARE!!!! The app did not work for me. and I was tricked into a full year subscription on top of a 3-month subscription and they took my money for the 3-month and the whole year. This is a scam it is a fraud, the app doesn't work and they're falsely advertising because they will not deliver. I am very very disappointed. They took my money. They would not issue a refund even though I contacted the same day as the purchase. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased. SCAM!!!

Good progress, but some features are missed
I’ve been using MakesYouFluent for a while and overall I’ve had a positive experience. The platform evolves quickly, and it’s great to see new features and improvements being added регулярно. The AI conversation partners are also getting noticeably better, which really helps with speaking practice.
However, there are a couple of downsides. The topics tend to repeat across different levels, which can make learning feel a bit less engaging over time.
Also, I really miss one of my favorite pronunciation exercises that used to be available. It had highlighted text showing correct and incorrect pronunciation and allowed you to listen to your own recordings. Now it seems to be replaced with a dialogue format that isn’t as helpful.
Overall, it’s a solid platform with good progress, but I hope they bring back some of the previous features and improve content variety.

Not a very good app or experience. You have a 1% chance of getting a refund, maybe less. Even if it is a technical issue they ask for all this feed back, screen shots and pictures only to say it is not the app it is your phone. CS reaches out after I post a negative review so they can "show they care", doesn't matter, NO REFUNDS.
