Absolutely useless website constantly restarting or crashing 1 star to generous

Everytime I go on the app I am redirected to the wrong story or don't get anything at all except buffering. This is the most annoying app I have ever used , just deleted it from my phone.

A lot of sites have all the pop up ads but this is the worst I’ve experienced. It resets the page so you’re back at the start of the story and have to scroll to find where you were up to only for it to do it again. If that doesn’t happen, your phone will just freeze. You can’t even read the ads because another ad just pops up to stop you. Then another and another. I just ended up bailing and I never want to return.

Cynical clickbait at its worst. A trap for the gullible

If I could score zero I would. What a difference since I started reading it 40 years ago. Where are the local stories, community interest, local politics? Its just click bait, social media garbage, inquests, car crashes, and worst of all moaners looking for compensation. They don't deserve to use the word Manchester in their title.

Absolute trash, non news written by non journalists. Why is this site still online, but the bad thing……the ads….omg, you can’t read anything because of the ads, the entire page is covered in click this click that to the extent where you can’t read anything……..trash!

Have to agree with the reviewer below, not only are they unlikeable as 'journalists' (they're not journalists, in any way shape or form!), they are unlikeable as people. Strange almost. Saw a couple of hobby bloggers from Manchester and Newcastle tweet about different music festivals today, within 2 hours Chronicle Live were printing rubbish articles about Reading Festival. Disturbing really, REACH PLC is so desperate it employs people to sit on social media and watch what strangers do, then jump on the same subject matter willy nilly. Really strange people. Is this what the need for 'clicks' has done to society?! Saw an MEN girlie with a Cash App link in her twitter bio too?! So she wants a Reach Salary AND Donations from the public?! Worrying and weird all around!

Seriously. Read the comments section. It's just weirdos insulting each other with no moderation. I'm sure it's the MEN staff themselves using sock puppet accounts posting controversial statements to game the page views. That, or their moderating team are incompetent. Either way, it's just really weird. Like somehow some weirdo constantly brings up COVID or Brexit, and or how hard they are. It's truly weird...

And then you have the articles themselves, written by weirdos. How can there be spelling mistakes. Even my phone has a built in spell checker as I type. I'd feel sorry for the poor staff having to churn out absolute mind numbing drivel and be forced to sensationalise something as trite and mundane as "local Man gets splinter", but they are just so unlikeable as people, not even journalists. Because, to be honest, they certainly aren't journalists. Yet they have convinced themselves they capable of bringing down Nixon, when actually they couldn't take down Tracy Beaker... And it's that quality that makes them insufferably unlikeable.

And then you have all the adverts, that mercifully blanks out the weirdness you was previously looking at. You can thank your maker that the excessive and just plain weird volume of adverts that bombard your senses, prevents you from actually reading any of the bilge that's printed there.

Should you struggle through all the garbage adverts to actually get to the meat of the story, you'll be truly disappointed to discover it's pure click bait garbage written by posers and wannabes that are gaming the system to hit the stupid targets that REACH PLC have set them.

So if you're frustrated by the adverts preventing you from reading this woeful website. Thank the stars.

If it was possible to rate zero stars I would. Full of click bait, stories constructed from inane social media posts, crowd funding pages or inquests. Worst of all, making dead criminals into heroes, without thought for their victims or the effects of crimes they committed on the local community.

Mind-numbing garbage about Corrie and pro footballer simpletons written by Twitter addicted egoists. Really poor. Civil action is pending against several of their staff.

Watching the sad and desperate staff of reach leech media plc try and have reviews removed on here is hilarious. they've been exposed on failed uk media blog. the end is here for these slander papp clickbait failed hacks.

UK media is at an all time low and Reach PLC and this paper are at the top of the lowest pile. You can see the desperation ooze out of their staff as they are set to join the hundreds of other local papers that have folded. No one cares they exist. No one cares what they think. A sadder than sad precocious, arrogant staff constantly bombarding social media with low brow tabloid smut and nonsense. Sad, sad, sad.

The new generation of MEN hacks - Saffron Otter, Ethan Davies, Lyell Tweed, Seamus, Nicola Wootton etc proving themselves to be every bit as arrogant, copyist, and generally garbage as the old guard of Simon Smith, Simon Binns, Dianne Bourne, Jen Williams, John Scheerhout, Todd Fitzgerald etc. Just clickbait garbage designed to line the pockets of Reach Media and failed sister sites like The Manc & Citylife.

Manchester Evening News have little or no respect for grieving families. A photograph was taken of a fatal accident scene, with the victim still there. This was posted online, before the victims wife had been able to contact the victims other family member and look after herself and son, To add insult the offending photo was then sent around the community via mobile phone. They completely disregarded any need to respect the dignity of a man who lost his life, and the feelings of his bereaved family.

I cannot believe a newspaper online would flood you with so many pop-ups adverts and other crap that it becomes impossible to read the story as your phone starts to freeze up. well done to the brains of Britain at Manchester evening news???
