“THIS IS NOT JUST FOOD, THIS IS M&S ABYSMAL FOOD!”
As a loyal M&S customer for many, many decades, I have long relied on your reputation for premium quality. However, recent experiences suggest a significant decline in fresh food standards. Upon purchasing a large bag of Maris Piper potatoes recently, I followed the proper storage protocols by transferring them to a cotton mesh bag and storing them in a cool, dark environment. Despite this, only four days later, the potatoes were riddled with internal rot and black spotting. I have a photograph of the damage which is quite dramatic but unfortunately it cannot be shown on this website. To quantify the issue: from 1kg of product, I was forced to discard 400g of rot and peelings. A 40% loss on a premium-priced staple is, quite frankly, reprehensible.
Crucially, this is not an isolated incident. This marks the third bag in recent months that has been of sub-standard quality. While I have returned two previous bags for replacement, (which each contained several damaged potatoes) the frequency of these issues suggests a systemic problem with your current supplier or quality control measures. I recently bought 2 bags of ‘easy peelers’ tangerines and 2 of the fruit in one bag were damaged and mouldy.
As it stands, I no longer feel confident that "M&S Quality" justifies the price point, and I am now looking to other retailers for my fresh produce.
M&S Autograph Eau De Parfum Fired…
M&S Autograph Eau De Parfum Fired Sandalwood has no smell. Nice posh box, heavy bottle but cannot smell it. They used to do nice perfumes like Florentina, which always lasted well, this doesn't even begin! Don't buy unless there is a tester, which there was not in the outlet. So disappointing.

Cafe at Handforth Dean Cheshire
What is going on at M&S Cafe Handforth? Food remnants all over the floor, coffee tasteless and I ordered a baked potato with tuna. You would think this was a foolproof choice. No butter in the potato, tuna ( which didn't look like tuna) dolloped on with an ice cream scoop like you used to get with mash potato at school. It didn't even taste of fish never mind tuna. It used to be a bit of a treat but not anymore. ..Dreadful!
Lack of effort from my M&as broker
Had no fault car accident in June 2025.Still not resolved. Suspect that M@S under writers and the under writers of the guy that hit me are connected in some way.
Still £300 out of pocket
M&S are at again
M&S are at it again. This time they are showing their usual lack of humility and failing to acknowledge their mistakes.
After giving them honest and balanced feedback as they requested, they have chosen to deny its publication and in doing so prevent me from giving an honest account of my poor customer experience.

Hi Annon JK,
Thanks for taking the time to review Blush Rose Abundance Bouquet.
Unfortunately, your review didn’t meet all our website guidelines as it shipping or fulfilment focused, so we’re unable to publish it.
We’d love it if you could edit and submit your review so we can get it onto the website as soon as possible.
My Review:
Disappointing!
Just so disappointed that the flowers that I had ordered in advance to arrive promptly on my mum’s birthday were only delivered in the late evening. They’d obviously been bashed around and did not look their best. Wish I’d bought from an independent florist. Will think twice in future before ordering from M&S
Thanks again,
The M&S Team

We went into M&S food hall in Mere…
We went into M&S food hall in Mere Green on Sunday Morning 26/10. There was one person alone behind the bakery counter and I waited and waited for her assistance. It not only took her ages to come over to me but she was the most miserable shop worker I have ever seen. No eye contact and almost angry looking. I looked at my husband who said ‘why is she working here if she hates it so much? I have to agree. What are you doing to your staff M&S?

Excellent service I have a the best experience at M&S opticians in Canterbury the team where really helpful I have an eye condition and the understood how reactive I was to certain procedures highly recommend.
I am becoming more and more angry with…
I am becoming more and more angry with the spate of recent campaign adverts presented by this idiotic chef tom kerrage making claims that farmers not supplying marks and Spencer food aren't upholding rspca and animal welfare standards this moronic glorified kitchen porter and his negative propaganda causes farmers their livelihood and a bad reputation and I can tell you this I'm a son of a time served master butcher and marks and Spencer meat quality isn't all that, so this goes to marks and Spencer broadcast on a public retraction about the false negative propaganda you're spreading on television it's not ethical
Rude worker
I went to return an item the worker was very rude and swore at me
Order no 000000325
Order no 000000325 . Still waiting for my glasses that m@s told me they have sent in the post even though they couldn’t tell me when they sent them out appalling service . It wouldn’t surprise me at this stage they have lost my glasses and can’t be bothered to contact me and tell me .
Until I hear from them I am going to post a review every week until they sort this out . Not being bothered to even contact me is certainly not i would call good customer service it’s but taking accountability for losing my glasses. Will never buy another pair of glasses from m@s because the aftercare is non existent and you don’t get your glasses back .

owl optical
owl optical. According to M&S, customer service complaints about this company, M&S says, have nothing to do with them. I returned a pair of unsuitable glasses over a moth ago and I am still waiting now for a refund 07/01. Despite numerous calls, emails and promises of a straightforward refund back onto the credit card I paid with they still seem incapable of processing it. I am now having to take up a complaint with the Ombudsman and M&S credit card who insist I fill in a long dispute form (for the 2nd time) This is not what you expect when you think you are dealing with a company like M&S and the you discover you are not.
Disgraceful rip off merchants
Well , this was really a tale of two stories: Firstly the staff were very friendly and very professional and helpful. I felt that thiis was a brand I could trust and who would be honest and upfront and perhaps a little different from the usual run of the mill optical services which , being a glasses wearer of 40 odd years I am tired of their sales techniques.
However the traditional 'snake oil sales techniques' started very early on... 'you need these lenses for UV' , 'You need this UV protection lense' , 'You need 'blue filter' for your PC use', 'Transitions lenses are a muse' ........ and this is before I actually saw the 'Consultant'/Sales person .... Now I have been wearing glasses for 40 years and so have a rough idea of what I 'need' versus 'want' ... Well , to cut a very long story short .... it looked as if my glasses were going to be over £500 ... now I dont have a tatoo on my forehead saying 'gullible' .... the sales rep/consultant was 'unable' to present a deal other than another pair half price .... So I took m,y prescription to two other opticians within a three minute walk and for the same price was able to recieve a quote for two pairs in the first and in the second would have the same price with two pairs AND a pair of sunglasses .... and this from a Brand that we are supposed to trust !!! I then went home to see what I could get from the internet ( I know that is oerhaos an unfair comparison due to overheads ,,, but it has ti be done) ... two companies tried in five minutes and the cost ..... £144 and £154 ..... and this is with the 'slimmer Ziess/Kodak lenses that you insist I need, the UV protection and the scratch prtection and blue filter stuff that apparently I need to have but costs me a ridiculous amount at M%S
That my friends is Marks and Spenser snake oil sales at its very best .... stay away from M&S opticians.... a Brand that cannot be trusted further than they can be thrown !!! Absolutely disgusted
Serious privacy problem with collecting orders
I attended my local store at Merthyr Tydfil to collect an order. The system has changed. I was asked to enter my full name onto a screen that was visible to anyone close by. I find this totally unacceptable. I do not want to make myself known to other M and S customers, however harmless they may seem. I do hope this will change before ‘perverts’ become aware that they can loiter in this area to identify shoppers, female or otherwise. Whoever came up with idea needs to be dismissed. Constructive comment: why not have a small screen checkin on the counter, making entries invisible to other shoppers? Tried to feedback to M&S directly but unable to find right place on website.
Awful online service
Awful online service! I had 2 orders cancelled by M&S in the last 2 weeks after chasing for days asking where my items were. Eventually, in each case, they told me the items (clothing items) got ‘damaged’ in transit (not sure how that can happen to clothes) and they can send me replacements which I was looking forward to. Two days later they just cancelled my orders altogether against my will and said the items were no longer in stock which was a lie as the items never went out of stock. Absolutely shocking service, they absolutely don’t care, I got lucky with a few of my orders in the past and received them but lately you can’t rely on them and that’s really such a shame. Can’t trust them, won’t order again as it’s upsetting to see something you really want and not to be able to receive it, I would not recommend.
