I have tried to purchase 3 items of women’s clothing on line and in store over the space of the last 3 months and each one has been out of stock and unavailable at my local branch! What on earth is go... See more

Badly made shoes from China.
I bought a pair of moccassins from M&S in February. One of the soles started to peel off in April. It's too far to go back to a shop so I repaired it but the second sole came off in May. Having tried a repair I can't really take them back but footware used only indoors should last more than 3 months. I've sewn the sole on to keep them going until I get to a proper shoe shop. If the soles had been sewn on rather than glued on in the first place they would have lasted for years. Cheaply manufactured in China and sold at inflated price by M&S. Rubbish!
They keep £150 from a lost voucher !
I misplaced a £150 voucher and was told there is nothing that can be done.
I have the receipt. It was given to me in 2025. How in this day and age you can't use simple technology by adding voucher card number to receipt to foolproof this process is nothing but a scam.
My mum religiously shops food/clothes and i sometimes shop clothes but we will both now never step foot in your stores ever again, you keep my £150 but you lose our future business, well done !

Ordered a slip 3 weeks ago and still has not been delivered l have emailed 3 times and they have completely ignored my emails will never order from marks and spencer again
M&S do not honour their guarantee
Paid £3,500 for a leather sofa with a 10 guarantee - after 4 years the leather is bubbling. They refuse to accept this is a manufacturing fault. What a haughty attitude from the staff - my complaint is now with the ombudsman who I trust will tell them to honour their guarantee. Reading the reviews on here looks like M&S are going down the drain - is this the beginning of the end.
Travel Money, never again.
Bought travel money off M&S and I was returning some left over after the holiday. They charged almost 50% more to buy it back. We always used them but will never use them again. What a rip off.
Bought a plant today from Chippenham…
Bought a plant today from Chippenham M&S. Found that a third of the flower petals fell off when I removed the plastic wrapping. Didn't print off a receipt, so now left with a pathetic-looking plant
Vile greedy disgusting profiteering company
M and s make 9B profit a year just of food steaks have been put up from £5-6 to £20.i like the large yorkshire with hog roast. This week large yorkshire hog roast and they have cut out little bit of greens that you get omitted altogether cost £8 and you usually get two small roasted potatoes in the meal. I know you lost £350M in trade when you got hacked because you did not protect customers details properly but are you that hard up you have to cut a small potato in half disgusting vile greedy company
Usually M&S is good quality
Usually M&S is good quality. But don't order from them online. I paid for next day delivery. I've waited in for two whole days for a package, part of which is a gift that needs to be on a flight to Japan... It has not arrived. They say it will tomorrow, let's see. It's out of stock online now too so I can't reorder or ask for in store pickup even if there was time. Either way, wasting three days waiting for a package is horrible customer service. I know it's mostly Evri's fault, but M&S chose them and is therefore responsible for their level (or lack) of service. I certainly wouldn't order from them again.

we bought a kitchen roll holder for our daughters wedding anniversary at a cost of twenty pounds
guess our astonishment when she informed us that it would not take the paper towels she bought we then tried it out for the ones we bought the same
whilst we have been refunded our money we find it astonishing that M&S should sell a product that is totally unfit for purpose
Substandard bunch of flowers
My sister sent me a bunch of flowers for my birthday tomorrow. When I opened the box, I was extremely disappointed. The flowers are not the high quality I would expect from M&S.
I have taken pictures of the flowers, but don’t think I can upload them here. I actually have better looking roses and eucalyptus in my own garden.
I am not the only one to comment on this particular bunch of flowers - Yellow Rose & Scented Freesia Bouquet.
I think M&S need to find a different flower company for their online flowers. The flowers looked like they’d been in the box for a couple of days. Wilting leaves and a yellowy alstroemaria is not really acceptable. Antirrhinum bent over and eucalyptus going brown.
Poor quality/high prices
Used to be good but in recent times I've had expensive shorts which fade in the sun after a few weeks(!), shirts of the same apparent size which are all different fits and sunglasses where the screws fall out (two pairs). Also officious female staff member at Hastings store is quite rude, needs some customer service training. Products are made at cheap production sites but their prices are still extortionate.
Appalling service from a retailer who used to have a name for quality
I wanted to send my daughter a gift of flowers plus prosecco on the day that she moved into her new home (Thurs 28th May). Having used M&S in the past for such gifts, I happily logged in to my M&S Account, paid for the gift using their Nominated Day Delivery service. On the morning of 28th my heart sank when I received notification from Yodel that they would be delivering (I would never have used M&S if I had known Yodel was involved).
Needless to say, repeatedly using Yodel's Tracking service during 28th only revealed "We have it", but *not* that it was "Out For Delivery". Sadly, when 21:00 hrs came, the gift still had not been delivered. I was unbelievably disappointed and feel let down by M&S and their contractor.
Yes, M&S have sent an electronic apology and the reassurance of a full refund. But (a) this in no way compensates for their missing the important date for Delivery; and (b) I still don't know if Yodel can be trusted to deliver today (29th), or do I need to find an alternative service provider to get a replacement (late) gift to my daughter?
This is simply appalling service and one which reflects so very badly on M&S and their (former) image as a high quality, trusted retailed.
Censoring Customer Reviews
Had a very poor experience with an online order. They said it would arrive on a Friday. It did not arrive until midweek the following week. No updates or apologies from M&S. Nothing.
I later received an email request to provide a review. I filled out the review and subsequently received notification that “moderators” had decided my review would not be posted, because it pertained to delivery experience rather than product experience. How blinkered an attitude is that to customer service? Surely good customer service is about the full experience?
What the heck has happened to M&S
What the heck has happened to M&S. You used to be able to trust the quality but based on repeated experience that is no longer true.
I have had so many items over the last year that either were too tight, or bad quality when laundered. I have not changed in size but it seems that wherever they are being made assumes than we have all got a lot smaller, and shorter in leg length. It’s just so frustrating and expensive. it’s a bind sending everything back to them.
Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service, week after week from Fozz, at M & S 24/7 Garage at Shirley, Solihull. He’s is always very polite professional and friendly. Always points out if we have missed out on offers. Fozz is a great credit to M& S. thank you for always making it a pleasure to drop in.
Hopeless
My "next day delivery" was assigned to DPD who, remarkably, manage to provide a worse service than Evri. Apparently there are "unexpected circumstances" in my area, causing a three day delay in delivering my parcel. I have requested a refund from Paypal, as I no longer require this item three days after the event it was intended for. I tried to advise DPD to return the item to M&S, and their irritating chatbot insists they're still delivering it next Tuesday. I remember now why I gave up ordering from M&S. Unfortunately their shops are also pretty awful these days too.
AWFUL SALAD
Bought a prawn and pasta salad at Belfast international airport.
My wife said how did you find the prawn and pasta salad?
I said I couldn’t find the prawns and the dressing was totally flavourless. What a waste of money.
Disappointing stock system
Discovered a lovely dress online which was billed as a ‘new arrival’. Despite this, the item was sold out in most sizes and there is no stock anywhere that I can locate. This is a frequent occurrence. There is absolutely no chance of me ever seeing items like this in the Prestatyn store either - all we seem to get are basics like jeans, tee shirts and the cream trousers that other M&S stores sold in navy - they didn’t seem to be moving any of them so I suspect that’s why they were there - they didn’t sell elsewhere. Very disappointing.
Oxford Street shop under still under revamp...
I was last in the Oxford Street store in August '23 when the revamp had started, returning today almost two years later it is still in progress! Half the shop continues to be closed off, with the men's and home departments on the upper floors unavailable. What a wasted trip into town, and don't get me started on the pop music now blaring out as if it's a store for the youngsters.
Fanatastic Customer Service
On arrival my mother and I were greeted with warmth and exceptional customer service from Sparks representative Tracey (I hope spelt correctly) the moment I stepped into Kidderminster Weavers Wharf Marks and Spencer on the morning of Saturday, 09/05/2026 that I regret to say we had not received anywhere else for quite some time.
I would like to give a big thanks to Tracey, who seemed to work tirelessly to look after us both explaining along the way to non-technical people in great detail how we can access digital Sparks wallet which is a “game changer”.
We are inspired by Tracey who welcomed us and her personal commitment to making a difference and motivate a mother and daughter through unprecedented, difficult and challenging issues. Tracey’s approach embodies the Marks and Spencer way by her continued excellent customer service which helped towards finding ways to address issues, to do things differently, and make continuous improvement to my and mothers experience as a customer of Marks and Spencer. Thank you, Tracey!
